Been to Playa del Ingles about 8 times and the place is not as clean as it used to be. Smell of urine every time you passed a corner. Beach was spotless as usual

Playa del Ingles is a big, sunny, windy unpretentious resort which doesnt pretend to be anything its not. Accomodation to suit all tastes from 1 star apartments to the big 5star compounds.Beach is great, loads of watersports but the ocean temperature never really gets over 70 degrees-so refreshing is the right term. Pretty much anything you want to buy is available. Some adequate gyms-i use the basement gym at the Eugenia Victoria hotel-10 euros for a day visit. For the gay scene the Yumbo remains the same-though over the last 10 years gradually it seems to be getting quiter and less popular-Heaven has now closed also which may be indicitave of falling numbers. Going Gran Canaria AGAIN next year-its got everything i want and i recommend it.

i ave visited pdi 5 times now. things ave changed , the credit crunch as hit everywere. alot of pubs ave closed down.there wasnt much entertainment there now. avoid the kasbah , irish centre, if you are with families.the other reviews about the touts and african women are not hiding the truth. if you want cheap lager. there are 3 pubs around the gran chaparal that do 1 euro a pint. big bens does quizes and on a wednesday, as a drag act called michael darling who is the most funniest drag act i ave seen. and he is clean , my kids loved him. the jumbo centre is great. dont let the fact that it is for the gay scene put you off.taxis are cheap. and there is a eat as much breakfast dinner and tea near the beach strand called the safara hotel near the taxi ranks. breakfast is about 5 euros for adults and half price for kids.drinks are only expensive at the irish and kasbah centres.agua sur was very quiet wen we went and asnt improved much but was clean.if you eat in alot there is a local market behind the gran chaparal that is cheaper than the markets on the street. i will go again but will try somewere differant now.

resort looked nice, plenty of places to eat and things to do although whenever you walked around you were constantly hassled by people trying to get you to come in their bars/restaurants. unfortunatly beach was down loads of steps and although we managed it once carrying our buggy we never tried it again which is a shame because the beach was lovely with nice sand. ate in the chinese all you can eat for 6.80 which was good and next door in the italian which was very good.also tried el gaucho which was lovely but very expensive but nice for a treat. a lot of the bars had offers on drinks at 2 for 1 but when they are charging 7 euros a bottle it is hardly a good deal! we would defininatly go back to this resort and recommend it to others.

Playa Del Ingles is a large spread out resort and although not pretty it has a certain attraction. The Yumbo centre has a few Drag shows and is very gay friendly but no one seemed offended. Watched Elvis at The Roma bar down by the beach,
he is very good and comes on about 11pm,
The resort was quiet as so many places are at the moment.

playa del ingles has a beautiful beach and sand dunes. there is plenty of restaurants and bars although in march they were pretty empty except for the yumbo centre which was very busy but is predominatly used by gay people , streets cpuld do with a bit of cleaning up and did see a few cockroaches all in all not too bad

Had a lovely time in PDI. Thought prices were quite high in Kasbah Centre. Best place to go is Scruffy Murphys in the Irish Centre. 1.50 euro for a pint of lager and 2 euros for a malibu and pineapple! Great DJ with quizzes, karaoke, good mixture of music and great atmosphere. Very friendly bar staff who made you very welcome and suitable for families. Best Chinese restaurant (can't remember name) was about 2 minutes down the road from the Irish Centre. Good prices and excellent food.

Lots of restuarants not too many good little bars. Beer and wine are pretty expensive but food wasn't too bad. No good shopping areas and they looked slightly run down. Didn't find too much to do for a family but we spent a lot of time just soaking up the sun which was the intension of the holiday. Wouldn't go there for more than a week.
