Location
Mould was on the ceiling in the bathroom and the bath was stained and marked also tiles were cracked all over the apartment. Down stairs was no better but at least the bathroom had a window in.
The towels were in a poor state a dirty grey colour and all marked. Pillows and bedclothes again both marked and grey in colour. The patio furniture was all rusty and the balcony flooded, when it rained we had to swill it away each time it happened.
The TV is a con as you use money even when it is not on. A funny thing is we were allocated a small amount of toilet rolls, 2 every couple of days, now sharing an apartment with 5 females is fraught enough but we never had enough for the two bathrooms and no matter how many times we asked for more at reception we never got any, we had to purchase our own in the end.
The pool side was not too bad but the water was so cold.
Restaurant food was at best uninviting and cold even at the best of times, breakfast was not too bad but they need to invest in a more modern and up to date toasting machine that one took forever at least 15minutes for 4 slices.
The food was bland and uninspiring it was the same most nights and the children

The buffet breakfast wasn't edible!
The staff are nice enough.
We were there for 1 week & the sheets weren't changed until the day we left & we had to ask for clean toilet paper because I think the cleaner had already used it! But apart from that the pools are great & the rooms are clean.

Restaurant staff were friendly and helpful
The hotel was close to the bus stop
The local amenities were ok
Bad points:
The room was filthy and dirty.
The room as you go in stank terribly liked someone decayed there.
The beddings were dirty and smelly even tramps would prefer to use cardboard boxes.
No clean towels (suspected old towels recycled.)
Reception is rubbish.
Salt water swimming pools mixed with heavy chlorine burn your eyes out.
Food was very greasy but edible (same thing every day).
Very expensive drinks.
Never clean toilet bowls.
Dirty sink and shower.
Bathroom needed extractor fans.
The bathroom was like it was built by a 2yr old.
Everything was expensive.
Rip off for tv it still costs when your not watching.
In need of make over of entire hotel.
I would advise you not to go here unless your desperate.

We only ate once in the hotel when we went down for breakfast on our last day

We eat in the Cave restaurant once. It was very quiet on the night, but the food was good. We did discover the following day however that we were given a forged 50 Euro note in our change.....but to the hotel's credit they did replace it, which was very good of them, considering we couldn't really prove it was from there !!!
Didn't really indulge in the entertainment, as it's not really our thing, but the bits I saw seemed to appeal to most of the guests, particularly the children.

To us the location was great because we enjoy a bit of a walk to get to the beach, or the main shopping centre.
The hotel food was my favourite, a variety for everyone, and lots of vegetarian options.
There is nothing wrong with the cleanliness of this hotel, the same as you should expect at any 3* hotel.
I would not recommend this hotel for disabled people as there are lots of steps on site, although some steps are accompanied by ramps at the sides, but these may be slippery in wet and windy conditions.
Another thing there was quite a few cockroaches in our room but that is what you should expect in any hotel apartment, our solution was spraying lots of cockroach killer spray by the front door and the balcony door, and also around the balcony.
It was a good job I couldn't go in the pool due to having ear infections as the pool was salt water, even when I was sunbathing, I could smell the salt water (disgusting) if it was chlorine I wouldn't mind because chlorine is more of a pleasant smell.
Overall the holiday was brilliant with something for everyone.

Our aprtment did not have pool view so we looked out onto another block of flats. The flat even though clean was a bit dated, refused to have a bath the first night until I had cleaned it myself, severely needing to be modernised in the bathroom, light took about half an hour to warm up. TV you have to pay is a lot of rubbish take a good book. Cleaner was excellent, can't complain there.
Supermarket too expensive take essentials with you like teabags and coffee. Restaurants costs a fortunes so we did not eat at the apartments. Some of the apartments will never see the sun especially if you are on the bottom, so not too great either.

It took about 30 mins to book in at reception which is dark and in much need of modernization. We attended the Welcome Meeting the next morning even though we have been to Costa Teguise several times and were amazed to find around 100 people in the downstairs bar! The most we have ever seen at one of these meetings is about 20. The Reps proceeded to put on a "Show" which we found very distasteful indeed it seems to be more about them than anything else. We left.
On returning to our apartment we found cat poop on our balcony, when we asked at reception if they could please have this removed they said someone would do so. It took about 4 hours before anyone came, he looked at it and left! Much later the maid arrived to clean our apartment. She was horrified to find this on our balcony and cleaned it up without delay she sympathised with us, but we felt very sorry for her as she had not been forewarned. We love cats but you do not expect to find this on your balcony!
We have stayed at another hotel in the resort which has many cats in its grounds but this has never happened to us before. We bought some lemons and put them on the balcony in an attempt to deter the cats.
The apartment itself was reasonable but well past its sell by date and was in much need of refurbishment. The bathroom left a lot to be desired but was at least functional. The furniture on the balcony was rusty and dirty so along with the cat dirt it was not the haven of peace it should have been. It was very noisy too although we do expect that given its clientele which was mainly families.
We will not be staying at these apartments again.

On arrival at Teguisol Apartments it seemed OK, but as we were just walking through the front doors I heard someone say good luck your going to need it.
Well I thought to myself that someone's not had a good time, but I just thought nothing of it and continued checking in.
When we got to the apartment it was basic which we expected but there not the most hygienic apartments in Lanzarote so we cleaned up and it was OK.
The next day we went down to the swimming pools, the baby pool is fine but the big pool is dirty with some kind of black gunk on the bottom.
When we got to the restaurant we thought it was nice and roomy but the food was not the best, but we put up with it because we were half board.
After dinner we went up stairs to the English pub to watch the football and play pool, this was a good place to relax in the evening.
We did this for one week(the food was getting repetitive by this time as it was basically the same food every night, but don't forget the food was lukewarm and did not taste to good)we just about got by, but then they closed the big restaurant and stuck us in a small room that they use for the a la carte dinners.(the cave)
The same night they also closed the English pub up stairs at 8.00pm so that meant the only place you could get a beer was down stairs at the bar were the kids disco is held.
This means that if you don't like the disco, bingo and bad kids games you are stuck with no were to go in the evening.
The following night at the buffet dinner there was nothing that me and my family could eat so for the rest of our stay we had to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner at the restaurants down at the beachfront, this meant spending money we didn't have.
My partner did complain to the reps and we got our money back for only four days food.
I must say that the Thomas cook reps were very helpful and polite.
We also asked the reps as to why the rooms were only getting cleaned twice a week and why the English bar and big restaurant were closed for the rest of our stay, they replied that the management had not renewed the contract for the cleaners and the bar staff this is why there was only four cleaners to try and clean 266 apartments and there was no more than five bar staff for all the bars and restaurants.(nice move management)
If you are going half board I would advise to take extra money with you as you may not like the food that is being offered.
If you are self catering there are many places to eat out but we thought that the LA TERRAZA and the PRADO VERDE restaurants on the beachfront at las cucharas were very good.
Also if you want a good tattoo I would say go to the BRITISH BULLDOG tattoo studio as they are spot on.....
THIS HOLIDAY WAS ON 13/11/2006
