On our second week we got moved to the Orlando apartments in Las Americas because our room was infested with cockroaches! It started when one crawled out of my bed in the morning then after that the other 50 joined us! When we complained at reception the reception staff (which were all very helpful)got the caretaker to come and spray our room. This did not make the slightest bit difference and he laughed at us for being scared!
Eventually I could'nt take it anymore and I spoke to a First Choice rep who moved us right away. As we were packing to go the cleaners shouted at me in spanish and they were all gatherd in our room watching us and talking about us. My opinion is that if the rooms were cleaned properly then this would not have been half as bad. If they came to britain they'd now what clean was!!!
We did not have a change of bed sheets at all in our stay and neither did a few others we spoke to! The entertainment was rubbish as well, with the host saying that she didnt like boring people who wanted to sit around the pool all day!! Well I'd much rather do that than play killer pool with her two other people!!!
Also we were told it was a 10 minute walk to the beach and then on into Las Americas, well its not, we had to get taxis all the time and each time you do your taking your life in your hands its like wacky races!!
The food was ok but nothing special! I would'nt return to these apartments, I would make sure I was staying in Las Americas next time in a clean hotel!!

We were very pleased with our room which was more than big enough for two of us and which was very clean and had all the necessary facilities. Our balcony was huge however not everyone seemd to be as lucky as us as some of the other rooms looked to be half the size. I wouldnt have liked to sleep on the fold out bed and felt it wasnt really a good enough room for four people.
The pool area looked lovely although for most of our stay the pool was dominated by young adults and their lilos making you feel you couldnt use it!
There is a supermarket nearby which sells pretty much everything you need and several restaurants close by. If you are looking for British food then Shakespeares is very close although we felt we werent made very weelcome there. Theres also a good mexican restaurant called rosies nearby and at The Beverly Hills Club which is left out of the hotel there is another good restaurant and a good bar that has decent entertainment for free every night(we wish we had discovered it sooner!)
We thought it was a long walk to the beach, longer then expected and the walk back isnt easy as its all uphill. Taxis are nearby but a bit pricey if you want to go to the beach every day. The beach of Playa de las vistas was nicer than los cristianos and only a little further round the coast. Make sure you go to the market on Sunday which has loads of stalls.
The maids were very helpful and kept the apartment really clean. They even brought us washing up liquid for our pans without us asking!
Entertainment was dissapointing, only saw one evening act whilst we were there; a cross dresser who was quite amusing but a little bit cringeworthy! Day time entertainment seemen to be non existent although we did spend most afternoons out of the hotel.
Overall we had a lovely holiday helped by the lovely weather. We were pleased with the Chipeque but would prefer to go somewhere with better entertainment next time.

I feel that had the hotel been cleaned properly then we would not have been infested with cockroaches. They were in the bath, on my clothes in the wardrobe and one actually climbed over my boyfriends head in bed. The rooms got cleaned every other day, we were given two tiny towels to last us two days. Our bedding got changed once a week. Due to the high amount of cockroaches you would have thought the rooms would have been fumigated. They werent. My boyfriend and I had met a family at the chipeque there were 6 of them staying in 3 apartments, 60 cockroaches came out of 2 of the rooms in one night. I have photographic evidence of this.
The hotel food was not great. You could get a simple, and i mean simple breakfast for about 4

There was NO ENTERTAINMENT in the hotel even though we had choose it for this purpose alot of guests where complaining.
We where told it was adult focused (a reason we choose hotel) and when we arrived it was full of children.
The noise was a total disgrace. After 2 weeks we couldn't wait to come home as never got any sleep. We are both young people and appreciate that others want to have fun but if it had been any other hotel we probably wouldn't of heard as much it was the sheer situation of the hotel with all the apartments facing into the pool and the noise just echoes all around.
People where arrested and chucked out of the apartments when we were there and the hotel staff didn't seem to be able to do anything about keeping the noise down.
The apartments were small but clean and the pool was cleaned everyday.

It is on a fairly steep hill, but there is a taxi stand right outside, which we made good use of.
The staff at the hotel were lovely (Gorgeous Johnny Depp Look-alike).
Could be noisy at night, but it would soon quiet down. I didn

week however the apartment did have enough equipment for you to be able to cook if required.
The hotel was kept very clean and the staff were helpful but we wouldn't go back to the hotel as it was extremely noisy at night. There were two more couples in our age group and every other person was under the age of 25 the hotel was more like an 18-30 holiday.
The noise went right through the night the entire week even though the security guard did try and stop it and while we were there a group of girls were removed from the hotel by the police.
So basically if you want a relaxing holiday environment do not go to these apartments.

Although the staff try to keep noise to a minimum it seemed its not so easy to control so many teenagers at 4 in the morning!
The hotel was clean, with staff cleaning a few times a week (they did a good job in our very messy room!) I did see 2 cockroaches during the week but I dont think it was due to a lack of cleanliness.
The pool at the hotel is good but can be quite cold on windy days. It is kept clean and the strict opening hours make it safer for all.
Staff are friendly and helpful and speak good English.
I really enjoyed my week at Chipeque apartments but it is definately a hotel for people who dont mind noise at all hours!! Not a family hotel.

The hotel was at the top of a very steep hill & as it was very hot this was very unpleasant.
Entertainment was very disapointing.
The beach was a lot further away than we were lead to believe & we felt very isolated on top of that hill.
Also very noisy at night. I felt I needed another holiday when I returned to recover from this one.
Never again.

I went there with my mum auntie and my friend. We had the best time we could have had anywhere! It was great!
Our room was always cleaned nearly everyday and the cleaner herself was very friendly and chatty. When we got there the staff helped us to settle in and are room was very clean and tidy.
The location on the hotel is great there are resturants just down the street and the beach is very close although you do have to walk up and down a big hill but there are taxis at a very low cost right outside the hotel which are very cheap.
The pool was always clean and the area around the pool was. In my whole stay we had one coakroach in our room and they arent as bad as you think!
We had the best ever holiday here and I would return today if I had the choice!
