Stayed at this hotel on the last two week of May.
Rooms, staff and the hotel in general is excellent.

Entertainment in the evenings is good.

The 25th floor terrace which is adults only is a blessing as it is the only peaceful spot.

Everyone seemed to chain smoke and all areas were smokey.

kids were everywhere (even though they should be back at school) and most parents didn't seem to care that they ran riot.

Overall we had a great hoilday the only problem was the hotel stated it had BBC1 and Sky Movies and if you wanted to watch TV with a few bottles of wine in peace(I know sad) 9 times out of 10 you could only get the news.

I absolutely love this hotel, should be a 5*. Rooms were spotless and cleaned daily. A huge amount of space and loads of room to lounge about downstairs. We loved it so much we've been going for two years on the trot now!

Entertainment is excellent, every night there is a mini disco at 8 when all the kids get up and dance. Amazing shows all the time, parrot shows, Grease, hypnotist and much more, you'll never get board. There is also an adult’s only piano bar.

In the day you’ll need to check out the activity board as there is a load to do. The adults’ only games are rifle shooting and archery, but there are loads for kids while you can relax in the sun not worrying where your kids are. There’s is mini golf, table tennis, ball games, French bowls, water polo and more but every day at 4 there is a movie on the widescreen.

Pool is very large and relaxing, not too cold! The Jacuzzis nice. On the very top 25th floor the is an open adults on bar and swimming pool if you want to get away, and a massive adults only gym on the 24th floor.

Inside there are spas, arcades, another smaller gym, massages, indoor pool and Jacuzzis so if you like you can get pampered every day.

Sometimes they'll be a trip that the hotel will take you on a coach somewhere for the day/afternoon. My husband went on a go-karting trip, only £4 per adult and £2 per child.

Food is amazing and there is always a wide variety, if you don't find anything you like you’re the fussiest person in the universe. Every night they have a theme like Mexican and the staff were all wearing sombreros, one night they had this Hawaii theme, and all the staff wore dresses and grass skirts and offered you those flower necklaces and wine (they offer wine every night)

In the day the there is a little hut where you can get burgers, chips, hot dogs and unlimited drink, even if dinner isn't ready. The cleaners are so nice they let the kids pop in and get some ice-cream and just snacks left from breakfast.

The staff are very friendly and are always willing to help!

Location isn't very good; the views are nice though. Not too many bars about so you get none of the noise. Local shops 5 minutes walk away and the beach is ten.

I advise you don't go on the front till after breakfast about ten cause my husband likes to get up early and go for a walk and at 7:00am when he walks along the front there are still young kids totally drunk picking themselves up off the beach! The bars are only just shutting!

Would definitely come here again for years to come!

Travelled with JMC staying seven nights - returning 26/4/03.

This hotel gets better and better, it is fantastic, if you do not enjoy yourself here then I would not bother going on holiday.

We spent 14 nights at the hotel in July of last year and I can assure you that the hotel has only improved (if this is at all possible). This hotel is good for families and couples. So good we have rebooked for October 2003.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Just returned from this hotel yesterday and it is superb.

The staff were extremely friendly, especially Rachel, Russ, Phil, Jon and Jill of the entertainments team.

Having read other messages I can agree with the noise of the building work which was disappointing especially since we were not warned about it when booking the holiday. Although it didn't ruin the holiday, you got used to it after the first day.

The food could have been better but there was always a wide selection to choose from. The entertainment was brilliant and there was always something to keep you busy. The rooms were larger than average and always kept clean. We are hoping to return to this hotel in July/August. Then hopefully the swimming pool will have the sun on it, it was constantly in the shade in February.

Would definitely recommend this hotel. Great value for money and a brilliant holiday area.

We have just returned from another excellent holiday at the Flamingo Oasis. We stayed there from Saturday 4th January - Saturday 11th January. We stayed at this hotel in July 2002, we had an excellent time then and said we would come back the following summer. However we just couldn’t keep away so we came back sooner! We wrote a review for this site which is still on and so this is like a follow up to it. If you are looking for a more in-depth review check out our older review too.

When we were at the hotel in summer last year it was basically over-run with kids. We decided not to go again in July. When we arrived this time we thought the hotel may have suffered due to the crazy summer months but we were pleasantly surprised to find the hotel was looking as spick and span as ever before. Nothing had changed really and the hotel is still very impressive. When we booked our holiday we requested a lower floor. This isn’t because we are scared of heights it’s just so we wouldn’t have to wait as long for the lifts on a lower floor!! When we checked in we were surprised to find we were on the first floor. We only used the lifts twice during our stay, the first to take up our cases to our room and the second to bring them back down when we were leaving! We only had 3 flights of stairs to walk up to our floor. If you do have the opportunity to request a lower floor then do so as it will save you time when you’re going down for breakfast, dinner, tea, going to bed etc! I would also recommend requesting a room facing the pool, these rooms are numbered 1-13. The 4 other rooms are on the side of the hotel which is facing the 9 story clinic which is still under development. This however doesn’t cause too much noise and hasn’t once disturbed our sleep in two visits. The only reason I recommend the front of the hotel is basically because its a better view. The first floor in the hotel is still quite high and is just the right height as if it was lower your view would suffer. We were in room 16 this time. The room had an extra single bed this time instead of just a double. We didn’t use it however as there were only 2 of us. Our room was as nice as it was last time, very clean and spacious. We found the room was again in very good condition. However we did find 3 problems; a cracked floor tile, a wall light out and the bathroom door handle wasn’t working properly. These problems obviously weren’t noticed by the hotel as you can’t really notice them until you are staying in and using the room. Anyway, we reported the problems to the reception as we didn’t want the blame for doing it! We went out for the morning and returned 2 hours later and were very surprised and pleased to find that all of the problems had been fixed. Excellent service.

The air conditioning was very effective again. When we were there in July the temperature outside was around 38 degrees and so the cold air in the room was lovely. However this time the temperature outside was a lot colder but luckily the air conditioning was set to warm. The maid was very good again. She made our beds every day and folded our pyjamas and put them under our pillows again! This time the hotel had introduced a rule where if you left your towels on the wall hangers they would be classed as clean and wouldn’t be changed but if you left them in the bath the maid would change them for you. This was to help the environment and to save unnecessary washing. Good idea we think.

Into the hotel. Everywhere in the hotel was spotless again and it hadn’t suffered any wear and tear. The hotel was full of older people and couples. It was far calmer without all the kids running around everywhere!! The queues at the bar were far smaller but let me tell you, the older people couldn’t half knock back their drink!!! The atmosphere in the hotel was calmer and we enjoyed our stay more this time. The restaurant and food was as good as ever. We had no problems whatsoever with food poisoning, undercooked food, leftover food or cold food. Everything was cooked properly, fresh and hot/warm.

We stayed in the hotel on a night more often this time and enjoyed the entertainment. the entertainment team worked very hard throughout the day and night and we particularly liked Natalie who was very good with the kids and very friendly towards the adults. She always has a smile on her face and is very pleasant. Her Leeds accent makes Bingo a joy!!
The entertainment included bingo and stand-up bingo every night at 9:00pm, the prizes were around 180 euros every night. We also saw the entertainment teams version of cats, an Oscars night, a betting game where 8 members of the audience got on stage to perform tasks which we then bet on whether they would complete their task, karaoke and discos.

During our stay we went on the JMC Valencia trip which costs 35 euros each. At the time of booking we thought this was expensive. However the day was excellent and flew by. It was well worth the money. We set off at 8:15am and arrived in Valencia about an hour and a half later. On the way you pass through the mountains and valleys and pass around 10-15 miles of Orange trees. We stopped off at a large department store called El Corte Ingles. This had about 9 floors filled with clothes, leather goods, a supermarket, restaurants etc. We then moved onto Valencia’s cathedral which is impressive and houses the Holy Grail which Jesus is said to have drunk from at the last supper. We were shown around Valencia’s old town, the market, a world heritage monument called La Lonja which was used for silk trade and Valencia’s football stadium the Mestalla. We also visited a bar for a free drink which was owned by ‘Manolo-El Del Bombo’. Manolo is probably the biggest Valencia fan their is. He goes to every game with his drum and funny pointy hat! He even travels and stays free with the team at their away games. He also travels and stays with the Spanish national side when they play. He is famous throughout Spain. He is quite happy to pose for photo’s, sign autographs and is generally a really friendly man. We later moved onto another shopping centre for lunch and finally moved onto the Lladro/Nao factory which was well worth the visit. It is a large factory shop with thousands of pieces at cheap prices. We bought 4 pieces for presents. We bought them for just £11-12 each! They would have cost around £40-50 in this country. We left the factory and made our way home arriving back at our hotel around 6:30pm. Our tour guide, Emilios was very good, friendly, funny and knew everything you wanted to know as he grew up in Valencia himself. Incidentally, if you do not want to do all this then the coach driver will drop you wherever in Valencia you want and arrange a time to pick you up. Overall, this trip is well worth the money and you get to see a lot in a short space of time.

Finally, we went with JMC and they were excellent again. They were present in the hotel most of the day and answered any questions you asked. All the reps were friendly especially the lovely Steph!

Anyway, we had a fantastic time AGAIN at the Flamingo Oasis and hopefully we’re gonna try and go there again in April/May. We’re counting down the days already!! :-)

Our first time all-inclusive,and we were so impressed.
Its so nice, not having to carry money around(especially with 4 kids!)
I was so nervous about going to Flamingo Oasis. I had said before we went....it will either be,our best or our worst holiday!

It was superb!

The hotel is spotless, cleaners are constantly cleaning!
Food was excellent, such a wide choice,my hubby complained that he was full up, before he got a chance to sample everything!

Our second week,we noticed an increase in holiday-makers....

If you went to the restaurant after 8pm....you had to queue....but the chefs kept on top of it,still ensuring that excellent service was provided. We found, that the best time was to go at 7pm.

There is not much more to mention, as most has been said in previous posts, except that we are really fussy people, and we would highly recommend this hotel.
Our only complaint......which was addressed by the Thomson and JMC reps whilst we were there, was that the selfish people that place towels on the sun-beds early morning and then dont use them until lunch-time....or the people that disappear at lunch-time and then come back and collect their towels a few hours later. The reps were collecting towels from sun-beds and leaving them in reception for the people to collect...(This did cause an uproar but we felt the reps actions were justified!).

The only other thing that niggled me....was a little girl was sick in the pool-bar(Too many ice-lollies!).....She went back to her mum......I went and told her mum that she had been sick and the mother did not even bother to go and clear up the mess!(I was furious)! But thats just selfish people....and you always get them on holiday...but as it happens....we did not come across that many....!

Have a brill holiday anyone that goes there!

P.s...I am hooked on this site....I find it really interesting reading all the posts on the different places. I would never book a holiday without checking on here first.

So thank you,to all the people that help make this such a success!

Stayed in this impressive hotel 8/10/02 - 22/10/02 and had a fantastic holiday.

This is a hotel for all ages. We took our children who are 11, 8 and 5. We travelled with Thomson and saw the reps regularly, couldn't say the same for JMC, I think I saw them about 3 times the whole fortnight. The Thomson kids reps were fantastic and my kids throughly enjoyed the clubs which gave my husband and I some time to ourselves to enjoy the adult only rooftop pool and adult only bar.

The family pool is very large with a shallow end and there is also a small childrens pool. It is a little shaded in the morning when the sun is behind one of the surrounding hotels so the best time is the afternoon. The construction work is not a problem. Our balcony was overlooking it but we were not disturbed by noise.

The hotel and pools are very clean, the pools are cleaned every day and regular water samples are taken. The food was excellent with many choices and was available all day with a snack selection open in between meal times. It was hard to decide what to eat. As someone mentioned earlier the male restaurant staff were very friendly and joked with the kids but the female staff were very quiet. Staff on reception were very helpful and friendly.

I chose this hotel as we were a family of 5 and there are not many hotels with rooms for 5. The rooms here are large clean and bright. The hotel is situated in an excellent spot. It is within walking distance for the beach, Benidorm Palace, Aqualandia (this closed on 13/10 for the winter) and Mundomar (well worth a visit). I can't speak for in season months but in October there is no surrounding noise from bars discos etc.

My only complaint is again, as metioned, selfish parents who leave their quite young children unsupervised. We didn't use the hotel entertainment much so i can't really comment.

I'd definately recommend this hotel even for older people as the adult only areas mean you don't have to be around excited kids!!! Oh and while you are in Benidorm go to Terra Mitica, great day out, the rides are fantastic. And its only a short bus ride away from the hotel.

Recently arrived back from 14 nights (3/9/02 to 17/9/02) at this hotel. Having read through the various comments I feel I must add my own.

The hotel is built, decorated & maintained to a high standard with the rooms large with plenty of wardrobe space, large bathroom, good size beds, T.V. & A/C. I did expect a fridge seeing as it it had 4 star status.
The food was of a good quality, there was always a kids menu and a carvery of some sort which gave more choice to which was a repetative menu. The gala nights were a bit disapointing though. The head waiter worked hard with his staff getting people seated and tables cleaned for the next guest.

There is building work ongoing next door. This was not a problem, but I would have some concerns about possible dropped objects as the building rises up over the coming months as there is only a narrow road between the building site and the kids pool.

My wife and I (no kids in tow) went with J.M.C. and the reps were a waste of time, hardly ever saw them, but that was not a problem.

My biggest disapointment though were some of my fellow guests. They really gave us fellow Brits a bad name. I have stayed in 4 star hotels worldwide and expect fellow guests to behave in a 4 star manner. Alas the calibre of some of them left a lot to be desired. Some guests seemed to have adopted the Germanism of reserving sunbeds with towels in the early morning & not returning to them until they have had their lunchtime binge thus preventing genuine sun worshippers of a place by the pool. Also some were letting their unruly offspring run riot everywhere and not giving a care.

Also they must have problems in their reading as I often saw the head waiter refusing entry to persons in wet swim-wear/bare feet into the restaurant, there was a sign at the entrance which was ignored. Also people often just walked in without waiting to be shown to a table which caused confusion, again a notice was clearly displayed to wait until shown to your seat.

The night entertainment was poor. Downstairs in the Flamenco Fiesta was like a zoo, with parents letting their little darlings run around causing mayhem. The piano bar entertainment was a joke with some stumpy little guy trying to sing in English, whilst some of the guests were treating the floor as an ashtray aroung the bar area.

Outside besides the pool was a bar/snackbar, again brilliant for the kids who could get chips/bugers/hotdogs all day. Alas people ignored the sign telling them not to take food away to the pool area. Chips etc floating in the water is not exactly hygenic, and as this place has had a history of "Benidorm Belly" recently, food hygene must be taken seriously.

The adults only roof-top bar & pool was a Godsend. There was a good atmoshere with no screaming kids. Also the tattoo brigade (both men & women, most spelt correctly) didn't seem to venture that far up. Maybe they couldn't count up to the 25th floor!

So to sum up, if you don't like screaming kids with parents who let them get away with murder, don't go there! If you are a parent intending to go with your kids, please make sure that they (and yourselves) are well behaved.

I can see this place going rapidly downhill if the management let people wreck the place.

Hi,

We were at the hotel last week september till 1st week October last year with 3 kids. We found this to be the best hotel we have ever stayed in in Benidorm and apart from the weather (cold wet and miserable )we had a marvellous time. My boys wanted to be in the entertainment room at night just to see Natalie but hey even the dads did as well.

Food magnificent, rooms wonderful and the staff so helpful. The presence of the security guard made it a safe hotel to stay in.

I agree with earlier posts about kids running around whilst parents just sat drinking but we just iggnored them. We went with JMC and found the reps to so helpful at all times. We did manage to spend a couple of days away from the hotel to visit Terra Mittica which was easily accessde by local bus service.

Once again I would like to say what a superd holiday we had and we hope to go back again next year. Will take us that long to save up with having 3 kids but it will be worth it.

hope you have a good holiday.

Me, my fiance and daughter aged 3, when to this hotel last year. We had decided on a holiday to Benidorm. After speaking to a family member she recommended the Flamingo Oasis as she went there with her husband not long after the hotel opened and she thought it was fantastic.

We arrived at the hotel and yes the staff were very helpful, the hotel itself was quite impressive and the rooms were very spacious and clean. Overall we couldn't have asked for more. We arrived on a Saturday and had a few relaxing days, with other members of my family from England arriving the following day. The food was great although by the end of the holiday the food became quite boring. I also noticed that if you wanted a sun tan there was only one small area by the pool where you get the sun all day because of the newly built Hotel Melia blocking out the sun and because I was there with my daughter I could not benefit from the rooftop bar.

By the Tuesday there were hundreds of new arrivals. Things turned from a pleasant holiday into a headache.
Parents that did nothing but get drunk and let their kids run riot, that really annoyed me. I could lose count of the amount of times I felt like smacking someone. My auntie agreed that things had went seriously downhill since the last time she was there.

Overall, if you have no kids and can escape the rabble it is an ideal place to have breakfast and lunch between some sunbathing on the rooftop, then go out, come back for dinner and a few drinks before heading off to the nightclubs and returning to a peaceful hotel.

If you have kids be prepared for a headache and your child possibly being terrorised by other kids who's parents don't give a damn and are there only to get drunk.
