Having read the earlier reports it was with trepidation that me and my family stayed at the Flamingo Oasis.

The hotel on the whole is great, as were the staff on all levels.

The hotel location is not bad, even with a pushchair you can make down to the beach within 10 minutes.

The bad points (not too many) were the all inclusive drinks. The drinks were terrible. OK we were not expecting the real mcoy but even the spanish equivalent of our spirits were disgusting.

If you stay in the hotel for the whole of your holiday you will not notice the difference, but if you venture out and have a decent drink it makes you realise how poor the hotel drinks are.

The food was ok and on most nights there was something for everyone.

The only thing about the hotel that was poor was I am afraid to say us british.

They have plenty sunloungers here but at 7.40am the ones nearest the pool had gone. Not only that but to be able to walk to the pool you had to do an obstacle course around the loungers. (Not easy with a wet 3 year old).

The hotel was very clean but this takes a lot of effort from the inside and outside staff.

The snack bar is for snacks to be ate there.

Big sign saying no food to be taken down to the pool. But this proved not to be for some people adults as well as children.

One minute your swiming in a clean pool, the next chips and burgers floating round you, disgusting.

So be warned at the height of summer this could be a big problem

I have just returned from the Flamingo Oasis Hotel, I travelled there from Birmingham with my friend (we are both 20 years old). I have been to this hotel many times before with my parents and on each occasion we have found the hotel to be of an excellent standard and worthy of its four star rating. My latest visit is no exception, all areas of the hotel are kept to a supreme level. Our twin room was of the highest standard overlooking the pool area, kept in top condition by the very efficient cleaner. The all inclusive package is excellent, the meals are first class with a huge variety of food for all tastes, the preparation and presentation is excellent, there is also plenty of food available out of restaurant times, snacks are available at the far end of the main restaurant which is an excellent idea plus other outlets. We had no complaints whatsoever regarding the all inclusive drinks, plenty of good value drinks on offer and there was no lengthy queues. The staff were very friendly and more than happy to assist with any queries. To end I must say that this hotel is fantastic, one of the best in Benidorm, the hotel, the rooms, the service, the all inclusive can only be rated as 'fantastic'. We had a thoroughly good holiday and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone, it is suited for both families, couples and singles. If you go to this hotel you are bound to enjoy yourselves.

Hotel was excellent, and certainly lived up to its 4 star status. Hotel staff, including entertainment staff work extra hard(Skippy is a great laugh)-watch out though girls he may try a few chat up lines on you. Food couldn't be faulted(100%), English food every day, and 3 nights of the week theme night(Tex Mex, Chinese and Italian). Spanish reatuarant staff only too happy to help, despite their busy schedules. I'll give a round of applause to the maids who cleaned the rooms to perfection(2 sinks in the bathroom).

The only faults we found were the lifts, at certain times of the day. Try to use them, between 8.00-8.30 for breakfast(between 9 and 9.30 they get real busy), and in the evening they are busy around 7.

The only other problem we found was, lying on sun loungers on the hotel side of the pool. We were lying on these one afternoon, a full pint of beer(luckily in a plastic cup), landed right next to the sunbed. Bear in mind. the hotel is 25 floors high, if this had been glass and been launched from the top floor, there could've been alot of damage. So parents please keep an eye on your children, and these things could be kept to a minimum.

I had never been on an All Inclusive holiday before, I didn't expect it to be as good as it actually was,I loved it.

The hotel was very good, food was nice and they catered for a selection of people which I liked. Hotel staff and entertainmet was good, the staff would have done anything to make the holiday as good as possible.

The hotel location was good,it wasnt too far from shops and the beach.Im going back again this year to the same hotel. Flamingo Oasis in Benidorm.

We are at this hotel at the moment. There is a nasty "bug" involving severe diarrhoea, sickness and stomach cramps (yes sounds like food poisoning but JMC dispute this). Everywhere in the hotel you are either seeing children being sick or seeing masses of sick on the floor or in the basins in the toilets. There is a distinct smell of air freshener today, as the floor landings have been stenching of poo!

Thomson have told their guests that the problem is just at this hotel. JMC are saying that they have the problem at many of their hotels in Benidorm. They are saying that the "bug" is an airborne virus.

There are all sorts of checks going on in the hotel, in the restaurant, swimming pools, water, etc., but JMC are maintaining that these are just careful measures, but that they are confident that it is not a problem of this hotel.

JMC are juggling the figures, saying today that there are "only" 22 of JMC guests at the hotel with the "bug". However, yesterday there were many more, but because those people flew home yesterday, they have dropped from their statistics. Very convenient!

Everyone that knows about the problem is scared to let their children eat in the restaurant and play in the pools, etc. Very few people are using the Kids Club, as we are afraid that this will give rise to the spread of whatever this "bug" is.

JMC will not issue anything in writing that the checks at the hotel have been proved negative, saying that all their reports have been in Spanish and they don

In response to Franny's letter at the top of the reviews i must express my views.
Me and my family have just reurned from the flamingo last week after two fantastic weeks there.

I feel that Franny must have stayed at a different hotel to my family as all of her comments are exagerated and i feel she may just be after compensation.

Although the weather wasnt brilliant during our stay the hotel certainly made our holiday extra enjoyable.
From the minute we walked in we knew we had made the right choice.

The reception is very impressive and clean and the check in was done in 5 minutes and we headed up to our rooms. The lifts are like something from a futuristic film.
The room took our breath away. Extremely roomy for 4 people. We even had british teln our room. The bathroom was spacious and clean and although we were on a high floor the views were amazing.

The restaurant had a fantastic variety of food and is possibly the best hotel food we have ever had in Spain.

As for all the hotel being ill last week. We saw no evidence of this during our stay and all holidaymakers were enjoying themselves. The bar staff were friendly at all times and the JMC reps were always on hand to help.

The hotel entertainment was not brilliant but varied and had activities during the day to keep the kids amused.

We are going into the travel agents next week to try to book a second holiday to the flamingo oasis later this year as we enjoyed it so much.

Well done JMC and well done to the hotel staff for making it one of the best holidays we have ever had.

We have just returned from this hotel and frannie couldnt have been more accurate. I am in proccess of writing a letter to jmc, the hotel was very impressive on first arrival but that bug she mentioned WAS NOT IN ANY WAY LIES OR BLOWN OUT OF PROPORTION. We still have it the national health trust have contacted me 3 times and are very concerned they say its vital i keep my kids and us away from any persons as the rate it was spreading in that hotel was so quick. I have my 5 and 7 year old still off school with it they said in the hotel 24 hours that was 2 weeks ago for my daughter yes maybe the severe symptoms settle in that period but after affects still stay much longer especially if you are a bit run down to start with.
I have to send stool samples in to my doctor,
And can i stress I am not bothered about compensation as someone earlier suggested about frannie i want to know what the hell this so called bug is and were it came from.
There was a 2 year old girl rushed into hospital by ambulance with the bug there was people everywhere holding there tummys and looking miserable and the staff were so unsympathetic they didnt give a damn.
I personally dont blame jmc as i think they were only doing as they were told its the hotel i blame they should not have let people in everyday while this bug was going about as lots of people suffered through there negligance and the staff were glum faced and certainly very short at all times there was the odd one ok.
Entertainment was ok if you were 11 or under but adults im affraid unless you are 65 or over there was a piano bar children not allowed god forbid if a child went in there, I have a 5 and 7 year old and was amazed by some of the oap guests reactions to the children were they not ever young, why people choose to go to places were clearly there is a lot of children if they are going to moan all the time about childrens behaviour is beyhond me.
My complaints might seem a bit harsh but hey it is the truth and to some people who may ask yes we did stay at the hotel flamingo oasis not somewhere else any one who suffered this horrible bug like me my partner and both my children would question WHY. I WOULD NOT GO BACK TO THAT HOTEL FOR FREE.

we stayed at the flamingo oasis in benidorm there was plenty of food to choose from the hotel was big plenty for the kids to do while we were there my 8 year old son and my mum picked up a bug which made them both be quiet ill sickness, diorrea sky high temperatures, and a bad headache for three days, they were both in bed for 36 hours they were also off there food this bug was the talk of the place a lot of people seem to have had it not just one or two we reported it to our reps who noted our names and room number

The hotel was all inclusive and very clean the food was ok, location was a bit out of the way about 15/20 minutes away from the beach.
When we booked the holiday we was informed that ice cream and lollies was included free but there was none at all.
The entertainment was very poor if you have little children there is nothing for them to do there is a slide right next to the swimming pool but there is no gate to keep them in its right next to the pool very very dangerous.
The staff are very friendly.
When the snack bar was on you had to walk right through the restraunt to get a snack and the floor was always wet cause the cleaners was cleaning it, its a slipping hazard.
Right now where do we start on this one,4 out of 5 of my family came down with this BUG everywhere i looked people was telling other people about there kids ur partners having it, there was smell of diahorria in the public toilets and on numerous occasions we saw little children being sick(even my son fell in someones sick,) we informed the refs that something needed to be done about it but if fell on deaf ears, we are not blaming the refs at all cause we liked them its just that with that many people in the hotel coming down with it u would of thought something should of been done about it.
Because of the lack of entertainment for small children there was a games room but you had to pay so whats the point of going inclusive if you have to pay for there entertainment.
The worst part of the hotel was the older generation they looked at you in disgust if you got in there way with your kids, one older man was very rude to my husband and i as he was going past.
We would not recommend this hotel for a young family.
As for going back to FLAMINGO OASIS BENIDORM we would not go back if it was free.
And the woman that works in the shop in the hotel im sorry but WHO DOES SHE THINK SHE IS, she looks at you and your children like muck , we teach are children manners but she does"nt use hers.

It was my first time in the hotel. and the price was very good.

the location is quite good now the area getting more built up, the walk to the hotel at night is more relaxed.

There is a `Spanish drain` smell pervading the first floor where we stayed .This is due to the use of direct waste into the soil pipes they don`t use `u`bends on their baths and sinks, but I found keeping the plugs in at night cured this in the room,(the toilet and bidet has water always in it so no smell comes from there).

The hotel, food, excellent, vast choice, paella`s, salads, mexican, beutifully cooked beef, pork, gammon etc and plenty of it something the Spanish have no idea of is oriental food, they should avoid this kind of cuisine. Everything was cooked well, presentation marvellous,
I have visited Benidorm twice a year for 20 years with no tummy bugs,i`ve stayed in seven different hotels the food here is up with the tops, when you wanted a bottle of wine,no quibbles you got it, One slight moan the over the bar coffee is from a dispenser type machine,=crap this stuff is designed to wake up the dead the embalm them, but if you ask for esspresso, and they have got a machine in the back room! the staff play dumb unless you insist (it takes longer)

One of the reasons,I believe for tummy problems is the dirty habits of the English/British which make up a good percentage of the guest, why can`t parents tell their children to wash their hands before entering the dining room, eating and after visiting the toilet? ,why even the parents fail to take proper hygene care.I`ve seen people come straight from using the toilet without washing then sort through the bread and rolls with their dirty hands, even through the salad and cheese,no wonder some people get ill.

The hotel staff were excellent, the entertainment was not of the highest grade but the piano bar has a good keyboard player and what he lacks in musical skill he makes up in very good banter with his audience, the kids club is very good, with lots of after dinner early evening entertainment. I have seen much worse at 4 star hotels who charge high bar prices to cover it.

The pool is cold but warmer than the indoor pool ,why?

That`s it `viva flamingo oassis`
