On first arriving at the hotel the hotel the reception area was very impressive, it really was the wow factor being a large open space with a nice cafe to the left a staircase leading to palm trees and the floor below, there was a glass lift giving access to 3 floors and to the right was the reception desk.

The hotel public areas were very clean although my room could of been cleaner as it had dirty marks over the mirrors and the patio table had coffee cup marks over it.

The hotel food was really good the best all inclusive I have been to yet.

The location was quite good being only a 10 minute walk to the beach.

The staff were of a mixed variety, some happy some unhappy!!

Entertainment was awful, but the entertainment staff did work hard and try their best.

The reason why I would not visit this hotel again is because there seemed to be a children via pensioner thing going on, most of the older age group did not want children in this hotel, they did not let the children breathe! one even said to me that children should not be allowed in this hotel, but it is a hotel based around families - maybe they should stop the pensioners instead!

When we arrived at this hotel it was in the middle of the night, we had two kids and all the luggage with us. Our eldest son was falling asleep and a member of staff came to greet us and carried him to our room for us extremely helpfull staff.

The room was very spacious and a huge bathroom which was superbly decorated. The entertainment was very good most of the time just occasionally kids got bored. The food was brilliant you would never go hungry you can eat practically from 7am until midnight. A huge selection of all types of food and even did themed nights ie Mexican, Chinese etc....

It was my wifes birthday over there and for a small charge you can get waiter service and they will even make a birthday cake, a very special day. So overall superb holiday and a surberb hotel and have already booked for June 2005.

We stayed all inclusive for one week, and we had an excellent time. the hotel rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable enough. The rooms have air con which was good because the weather was lovely for the whole week!.

The food in the hotel was very nice, always a nice selection of fresh salads, and a carvery station with freshly cooked pork or beef. You could have a roast dinner most every night if you wanted to!. The breakfast was nice too, and i liked the fact that you could still get sausage, egg, bacon, toast etc from the canteen even if you came down to eat after 10am because they kept a selection of breakfast items available along with the all inclusive 'snacks' throughout the late morning.

The snacks were things like burgers, hot dogs, chips, which were there for you to make yourslef with bread rolls, fried onions etc. The hotel staff were mostly friendly enough, but as usual, a few of the bar staff were a bit grumpy, but i think that is the same just about anywhere.

The bar area by reception was where we spent much of our time, becuase it was very spacious, without tables being jammed close to each other. The chairs were comfortable, and there were even a few comfy if not slightly scruffy sofas to sit on while having your drinks.

The entertainment team always tried their best, day and night. They didnt nag you to get involved, and they did the usual 'greece' tribute, which was quite amusing. I was expecting the kids at the hotel to be annoying after reading a couple of other reports, but although there were children staying there, we didnt find them too badly behaved.

The one annoying thing about this hotel was the lifts...yes, I have to agree with the other people that commented on them....they was small, dark, and totally unreliable!!!.....we had read about this on this site before we left, so we requested a low level room, and we got one on the 4th floor, but it was still quite alot of steps to go down to get to the recpetion area!!!....we quite often had to wait over 10 minutes for a lift, and even then you couldnt get in because it was too full. A couple of people said they had got stuck in them, but never for too long, and luckily, that never happened to us!....but dont let this small point put you off the hotel, because we loved it, and we wouldnt hesitate to stay there again.

As for the location, it was just about a five or ten minute walk to the beach, whcih was nice, and there is a taxi rank right on the beach if you are feeling too lazy to walk back like we did a couple of times!!.....We had never been to Benidorm before, and we werent sure if we would enjoy it, but all in all we thought it was ok.

Plenty of bars full of every kind of entertainment you could think of. Loads and loads of shops, not all tacky, some had very nice hand bags and clothes and ornaments. Eating out was cheap, though we only did it twice for two reasons...firstly, the hotel food was very good, and secondly because we found that there was a lack of quality restaurants.

Mostly cafes with plastic tables and chairs, selling burgers or pie and chips. Im not saying there is anything wrong with that, but sometimes we fancied a nice steak or something similar, and we couldnt find anywhere to do this. There are a couple of better restaurants on the promenade, but the prices were quite high because of the views etc which were very nice.

We would go back to benidorm, and we would definitely stay at this hotel again, as long as it was all inclusive because of the lack of 'good'restaurants.

Although we have been to Benidorm before, this was the first time we have gone all inclusive. So what a surprise when we got the measure of the Hotel.
We loved it, the kids loved it and we had a fabulous time.
The staff and the food and the cleanliness of the complex could not be faulted. The entertainment, though not Las Vegas standard, was well rehearsed and performed.
Whilst it was a bit of a walk to the beach, the hotel was idealy situated for Mundomar and Aqualandia
As a matter of interest, the first couple of times we exchanged travellers cheques we used the exchange across the road, who were a bit extortionate with their charges so we asked at reception and got a far better deal

Fab holiday - would definately go there again and have recommended it to some of our friends

We stayed in this hotel for 10 days in September 2007. Our first impression was disappointment with our room. We had no sofas or twin washbasins, and our balcony was in shade all day. The hotel has one row of rooms at the rear of the building which are set back slightly from all the rest. Other guests told us that on some floors this room is used as a cleaners' storage room, on others they are obviously let out. Be aware of this. We felt Thompsons should have made us aware what we would be getting.

The usual toiletries were provided, towels changed daily if requested, and there was a useful hairdryer. The beds had seen better days - they creaked really badly. Our wardrobe door came off its runners and we had to get it fixed (they did attend to it really quickly).

When you enter the dining room, the variety of food appears huge, but after a few days you realise the same things are put out in the same places day after day. There is a lot of 'recycling' of food and some very weird concoctions appear as they try to use up all the leftovers. The best items on offer were the fresh fruits and salads, cheese, cold meats and the jonts of roast ham on the carvery. We didn't enjoy the hot meals - in our opinion this was not 4 star food by any means.

The best thing about the AI drinks was the ability to get water, soft drinks, tea and coffee whenever you felt like it. The San Mig was okay, the Strongbow didn't taste quite right, and the spirits and wine were as you would expect - "locally produced" and weak. They tasted pleasant enough but if you think you're going to get full strength drinks you'll be disappointed.

We found the staff to be pleasant - more pleasant than some of the guests! We didn't see any of the family entertainment but it seemed to be going down well. The piano bar for adults had a very poor seating arrangement which meant most people couldn't actually see the pianist. The hotel has excellent access for people with mobility problems, baby buggies etc.

The main swimming pool was in the shade for quite a lot of the time so the sunworshippers area did get crowded. We never saw the jacuzzi bubbling - it was always full of kids. The rooftop adult sunbathing area was okay, with a small plunge type pool.

In summary, we did not feel this was a good choice of hotel for an active couple. In fairness Thompsons do advertise it in their family brochure. Its good if you have mobility problems or very young children and know you're going to be around the hotel most of the day. We only found ourselves around at lunchtime twice over the 10 days because we were out and about after breakfast. We did take a picnic on one occasion (breae, pate, tuna and tons of fruit), but frankly its easier to pop into a bar wherever you happen to be. When it comes to food and drinks we prefer less choice but better quality and wouldn't go for AI again on this basis.

We had a Brilliant Holiday!
20 years 4 months ago
We have just returned from The Flamingo Oasis in Benidorm and all I can say is BRILLLL!!!!!

This hotel is clean, well equipped and provides a good value family holiday.

I've broken it down so it's easier to read :-

ROOMS - fantastic size if you stay here as a family of 4 you will no longer have to deal with having a double and 2 singles all in a line right next to other and then all waking up in one of the beds !
In our room it would have comfortably accommodated a family of 5, we had 2 sofa beds which turned into really comfortable single beds. We also had a very large double bed and another single bed.
The Bathroom was a good size over bath shower, bedet, toilet and double wash basins. Great amount of wardrobe space and also a safe and TV although there is a small charge and returnable deposits. ONLY PROBLEM the bath was very slippy and we had to put one of the towels in there for safety.

FOOD - Fantastic and plenty to chose from. You could eat at any time between 8am and midnight whether it was in the restaurant or at the pool side bar. ONLY PROBLEM they did have slight weird concoctions of things i.e. one day there was canneloni and we thought it was of course made with meat but it was made with fish!

ENTERTAINMENT - Some of the people who done reveiws about this part of their holiday have slated the entertainment that this holiday has on offer. OK it is not a Las Vegas Show Girl type of thing - but it is something for you to look at and the kids seem to love it - they all "Fight" to get front row seats. The hotel has an entertainment company who provides all of the entertainment for them and I think that they work so very hard in trying to keep everyone happy which is not always possible.
If you don't like the entertainment sit inside in the airconditioned bar area - you will be alot cooler !

DRINKS SERVICE - Ok can get a bit busy but the staff work hard and get everyone sorted as soon as possible - but with a hotel so big you should expect that there are times when there will be queues.

STAFF - friendly fantastic and fab ! what more can I say.

SUNBEDS - As always this is a really big downfall - there are not enough. If you have a pool facing room get up at 7.55am and peer over your balcony and watch whilst playing The Benny Hill music in your head and you will possibly get the biggest laugh of your life. There are what I consider very inconsiderate people who say a family of 5 (2AD and 3 kids) will go down and get 5 sunbeds - 3 of them will then not be used all day because the kids are too busy swimming in the fabulous pool or at kids club ! Very irritating to those of us who are considerate enough to share two sunbeds between 2 adults and 2 kids.

EXCURSIONS - If you have a family with kids you have got to go to Mundomar. Dolphins seals etc fabulous - a 7 hour day out for around £45 for a family of 4 and only about 10 minutes walk away although it is up hill.
Some people we met went to the Benidorm Palace which is about 100 yards up the road and said it was a fabulous show and the costumes were great.

THOMSON KIDS CLUB - This has got to be one of the best kids clubs I have ever seen the reps are totally committed to those kids they even take time out at night to do the hotel mini disco with the entertaianment staff. Rob Hayley and Lucy YOU ARE FAB !!!

Just returned on 1st September from a weeks stay. We all loved our holiday. The hotel was fantastic very clean. Excellent meals plenty to choose from they cater for everyones tastes.Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. My husband queued for sunbeds on a morning otherwise no chance of getting one before 3pm.He said there was a mad rush to get the beds so be prepared to run. He put our towels on the beds and left them there while we had our breakfasts and no one moved them. The kids loved their identity cards, our 7year old spent all day in the pool except when he visited the pool bar for burgers, chips, milkshakes and kids cocktails. The adult ones are ok as well.
We enjoyed the entertainment on a night. The last night the entertainment staff did a brilliant version of GREASE all the kids at the hotel loved the mini disco and the staff did a brilliant job keeping them amused. If you like animals go on the trip to visit noah's ark in the mountains but beware of Rita the cheeky monkey.

just returned home from a two week stay at the flamingo oasis, first impressions of the hotel where good. Large entrance, clean and very prompt at checking you in.I wasnt happy about been on the 15th floor as i had asked for a low floor when booking 14 months ago. Never mind i thought(good view) i didnt like to complain. The rooms were larger than i thought they would be, very clean and plenty of cupboard space. Lock did not work on bathroom door(embbarasing for the teenage daughter we have)i reported this but it never got fixed.Food was of a very high standard plenty of choice, always hot and available all day. Staff friendly although some bar staff could be a little more(didnt seem to smile much) The entertainment was poor, there were a few good shows but i feel the hotel should invest some cash on more external artists(however the team worked hard on there roles enjoyed grease).Although i enjoyed my holiday at flamingo oasis i dont think i would return, i couldnt stand doing (Linford Cristie) every morning again just for a sun bed. It was quite amusing really, watching everyone run like mad when the sec-guard blew his famous whistle. Mind you if you cant beat them join them (i wasnt paying all that money to sun bathe on a white plastic chair) When you have 1500 people (Approx) and only 500 sunbeds what do you expect. They need to invest in more SunBeds. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends but i would warn them about the sunbeds.

Lovely holiday but the biggest problem was sunbeds round the pool and the pool temperature always freezing!!! you sometimes had to chase the sun because other hotels were blocking most of the sun.the food is great and the staff are mostly very polite speak good english.the entertainment staff work very hard to keep holiday makers amused but sometimes the entertainment is not very good for adults.cleaners always cleaning the hotel and we even seen them at 11 o'clock at night cleaning the hotel reception area and the cafe.

Entertainment was great
20 years 4 months ago
The hotel was kept very clean throughout the 2 weeks that we stayed there.

The food was very enjoyable for me and my husband but for my 2 children that were aged 10 years and 7 years (who are very fussy eaters anyway) would only eat the pizza and chips and desserts, but I didn’t think that there was enough choice on for the children anyway.

The location was great only a short walk away from Aqualandia (water park) and Munamar (dolphin/seal/parrots etc.) great for the kids.

The staff where very friendly but they like you to be quiet around the hotel when playing air hockey.

Entertainment was great they kept both myself and hubby and both the kids occupied for the full 2 weeks.
