The resort isnt to bad but you have to entertain yourself as there is not alot to do.The beach is a stoney beach and the shops have no problem selling you a bucket and spade even though there is no chance of the kids making a sandcastle. We ate in shamrocks (great steaks) and KD's were Richard is very friendly and will offer to help you if you ask. There seems to be little english there and my girlfriend was looked up and down by the women and the men seemed to be taking an unwanted interest in her

The resort was clean and quiet entertainment wise it was ok for families. The beach was gravelly but was cleaned daily if you walked down early you would see it being raked over. A nice little resort with some friendly bars and resturants.

Blanes was a lovely place, with lots to see and do. We particularly enjoyed the night marked which took place along the beach front, and it is well worth taking one of the ferry boats to some of the neighbouring resourts if you have time.

Blanes Costa Brava is a fairly ok resort enough to do and see and nice long beach.
However I would not go back as I was put off by our poor accomodation.

The resort of blanes is kept really clean, its quite a quiet resort and does have a spanish feel unlike its neighbour loret ,the resort does nt have a lot in the way of entertainment in the evenings it s mainly hotel based,
lots of great places for a nice evening meal and a good market on a mon .Lots of pavement cafe s along the port where you can sit and watch he world go by.
Public transport is great , you can hop on a bus and go to any of the nearby resorts for a couple of euro s , there s also a bus to the water park atloret ,and blanes has a train station too ,i think t was about 10 euro each return to barcelona .The holiday makers here are mainly french and dutch and a lot of spanish on the weekends ,not alot of english around at all this year but thats fine with us .Although kept reasonably clean the beach is shingle and the sea drops quite steeply a few feet in so dont let little ones go in unsupervised.

Blanes is a nice resort, but there is very little to do. The beach is really dirty and clothes and feet get stained. It is a shingle beach so there is no building sandcastles or walking on it. We stayed in Blanes centre. At night there is absolutely no entertainment if you have children, there are a few nightclubs for adults. We visited the arena nightclub, it was o.k, but quite quiet. Blanes has a mix of nationalities and there are a lot of spanish holidaying there. We found a fantastic restaurant/pub called KD'S where the food is amazing. the suet pudding was my favourite. the staff there are all english and go out of their way to make you feel welcome, especially Richard. Again nothing for the kids. The harbour in Blanes is lovely, we walked down there one night and there was a dancing competition on, which the kids enjoyed watching. Although very nice and we had a fantastic holiday (probably because we hired a car), i would never return to Blanes again. It is very boring!!

Blanes is not a hectic resort. It will appeal to people who like a quieter, more realxing holiday.
There are cafes and restaurants about the place and a few by the seafront. If you like walking, then teh coastal path starts at Blanes although the waymarking is not that good and we could not find our way to Lloret de Mar.
