Great beaches if you explore within 5 km.
Food was very disappointing in the main, but recommend the cheers bar, mexican restaraunt, the fish restaurant by the harbour and the patisserie for bagettes etc (run by a lovely spanish blonde lady who loves children).
Lots of discos and night clubs, but this resort is lovely during the day and ok at night if you avoid the main drag

I have been to Blanes about 4 times and each year has been absolutely FAB. The first time i visited Blanes, it was a relatively quiet family resort but has gradually gained more night life each time i have been. However it has managed to achieve the perfect balance in terms of bars discos and family entertainment. Definately not as trashy and cosmipolitan as Lloret de mar. If you're missing the traditions of england while you are away, Lloret is there to save you.
Blanes is a perfect family resort and for teenagers aswell. Definately if you are stuck with your family like i was the first time i went, take a friend with you as this resort is safe but still with good clubs aswell. stay clear of Las vegas disco and you will have a good night. The beaches are coarse sand, much nicer than fine sand as it doesn't get stuck to you as easy, and it doesn't hurt your feet like pebbles.

If you have a love for tropcal plants or just appreciate the stunning views of the meditteranean, it is well worth a visit to the Botanical gardens. Although we avoided it for the first 2 years we went for fear of boredom, we had a pleasant surprise. I have a fantastic collection of photos to frame now, and more importantly with its location at the top of a cliff i got a great tan too.
Blanes is perfect for those who like a nice stroll after their dinner, as there is a long stretch of promenade that takes you all the way from the new end of blanes to the old town. Although the name may deceive you the old town is actually where all the shops are. And not all your souvenir shops, im talking shoe shops galore and clothes shop on every corner. My wallet took quite a battering on that day.
Buses are very reliable in blanes and the surrounding areas. Definately worth a trip is to the waterpark in lloret de mar.
All in all a fantastic resort.

The resort of Blanes is like any other popular Spanish resort but there does not seem to be many British people around.

We found that you get alot of Germans. The beach is lovely though and very clean. The best thing about Blanes though is the fact that you can jump on a boat trip and try all the neighbouring resorts.

We would recommend Tossa da Mar. The entertament on the night time in Blanes is not very high key.The only thing to really do is go out and try the many restaraunts.
