Lovely resort no noisy bars or disco's great selection of restaurants and the old town and castle were an absolute delight.
Best restaurant that we tried was, for us, through the gates to the fort at the end of the old town and turn right it is next to number 1. Made us very welcome and nothing was to much trouble for them including a birthday cake!!! Oh, and the food was amazing.

The streets and beach were kept spotless. The beach was not ideal for the children as the sand was more like cat litter and the sea shelved deeply very quickly. We went on a boat trip a few times to another cove where the sand was not quite so hard, it was a 40 minute trip going as you visit the caves but its only 10 min back. We arrived in tossa on 19th june and up until the 23rd it was very very quiet, on the 23rd it was the festival of san juan fireworks everywhere, they said it was to celebrate the start of summer from then on everywhere was open and the resort came to life, would visit again but without children

My dream holiday is Tossa de mar, with it's 800 year old fort, it's romantic and is a very relaxing holiday resort, where you are able to go out at any time of the day or night, with or with out company and feel safe.
In the seven years me and my family have visited Tossa de mar, we have never heard or seenany trouble. It's a lovley, quiet, relaxing family resort.
It has three discos, one on the front, and two in the side streets, so there is night life if you want it.

The resort itself was a pleasant surprise, still had a lot a spanish character.

This resort still retains it's spanish charm, with the 'Villa Vella' old walled village that looks like a castle and all the little windy streets.
The beach is lovely (gritty sand) and has all modern facilities to hand. The sea was clean but got deep very quickly if you have children.
Meals with drinks cost between 30 and 60 odd Euros for a family of 4, so not particularly cheap. It gets dearer the nearer you get to the 'Villa Vella'.

Entertainment around Lloret de Mar was extremly varied, ranging from karaoke bars to night clubs.
Although we visited in April, things were generally open if we chose to take advantage of them. However, as we were on an all-inclusive holiday, this happened rarely.
I would recommend the pool room / arcade right down at the beach front. Extremely helpful staff and very good facilities.
The beach itself was clean although perhaps a little too stoney to spend any amount of time on there
overall a great place for an active holiday,(clubbing, pool, swimming, walking etc) maybe not right for a relaxing break in the sun

The resort was very nice with a lovely gentle sloping beach and bright blue sea. Plenty of places to walk to. Nice long promenade. Shops a bit tacky and all much the same. Quite built up. Pretty though.
