Apartments were very good considering it was an allocation on arrival. The only thing that we found annoying was queueing in reception when we arrived it took us 1 hour to check in and another coach came in just after us so these people must have waited longer.
Even when we checked in we still had to wait for about 20 mins until the room was ready, some had to wait longer than that. We think the problem was because the whole coach was staying at this hotel.
Other than that we could not fault the cleanliness although I did go out and buy a toilet freshner as someone else pointed out our bathroom did have an unpleasant smell.

Hotel was just what we wanted, when we arrived we were met with big smiles from the reception staff, Carmen especially and very warmley welcomed by Pat and Stuart, the First Choice reps.
We had a pool view and a fantastic view of the mountains and the room was clean and tidy,which to be honest is the main thing for us.
Hotel food was o.k, nothing special, but definatley edible.
Location of the hotel wasnt great, but the Mirimar shopping centre more than made up for it, it contains every shop imaginable to keep you satisfied, including a big supermarket,(like asda).
The hotel staff were very friendly and helpfull, especially Carmen(reception) and Julian, Tamara (bar staff)
First Choice reps were very nice and keen, entertainers Alexia and Vince were very good especially at dance routines(did'nt know how Vince does those splits!) but the best times are when Stuart the rep is involved, he adds personality and flare to the shows and is a very talented young man and my kids thought the world of him as he always made them laugh, although I must say he needs to still work on his singing, but im sure he will be the first to admit that, haha!
But on the whole there is definantly a nice working environment and it shows, which is rare in the holidays we have experienced in the past!
I would definantly visit Fuengirola beach again and I would also recommend it to anyone, looking for a cheap and comfortable week away!

Booked a late Christmas deal to the Fuengirola Beach and was pleasantly surprised at the standard of the apartments. Good size rooms and nice bathroom although the Kitchenette was a bit of a let down with no oven or ice box in the fridge.
The central heating was a plus as it was quite cold for the first couple of nights. The hotel was fresh looking and clean although I had to call maintanence as the patio door would not lock but this was resolved in only a few hours. The Balcony overlooked the pool area and there seemed to be a few loungers, although i doubt there would be enough for the hight of the summer although there was not much call for them in December.
The location of the hotel was not great but a 15 minute stroll took you into town. There are buses which leave from in front of the Mirimar shopping complex into town and cost 90 cents I'm sure they run every half hour.The complex was great if you didnt fancy the walk as there were about 10/12 places to eat with Burger King, Hollywood,Beer Station and several Spanish options.It also had a 12 screen cinema although I dont know how many were in English.
Plenty of shops to keep the better half happy and one great big Supermarket which catered to all your needs except if you drink Cider as I couldnt find it anywhere. There is also a large Dunnes shopping complex about 5 minutes walk and next to it is a Lidl.
I would be happy to recommend it to anyone although in the high season it could get very crowded.

We could not fault the hotel,clean,lovely room looking over pools which were clean.
We did not eat in as it was cheaper for two to eat out. Shopping centre 3 mins.walk which was called 'Hilamar' which included supermarket,foodhalls,cinemas and shops.
About 7 mins. walk to Castle Beach and about 15 mins.walk to promenade.A bus leaves the Hilamar every half hour to town centre.
Staff very pleasant.Very quiet position.
Certainly would go back again.

Room very clean and spacious, only problem was smell of sewage from bathroom.
Breakfast was good and filling but dinners were poor and cold.
Staff were excellent and friendly and helpful.
During our visit kids seemed to have the run of the bar from morning to late at night and the music played in the bar was too loud.
Entertainment was centred on kids and adults never got a break from them.

I found my experience of this hotel to be a complete contrast to the other reviews posted here, I found the Fuengirola Beach Hotel to be extremely poor. On arrival at our accommodation, the Fuengirola Beach Aparthotel, Fuengirola, Costa del Sol. After being given our room card and proceeding up to the fifth floor to the room, it became apparent on entry that the room was already occupied as there where other peoples suitcases there. On arrival back at reception we where issued another room card for the adjacent room, again on the fifth floor. When we once again arrived at this second room with all our luggage, on opening the door there was a strong smell of sewage and again the room was occupied as there where suitcases present. Excellent apartment top floor extremely large balcony because on the corner with pool view! Enjoyed stay very much pool excellent clean and lifeguard on duty. plenty of loungers even if u were up late!
Opposite large shopping complex with loads of shops and air conditioned which you needed! Large supermarket with all you need.
Beach about 10mins walk lovely but no paths to get there but well worth the trek!
Eat in hotel few times very reasonable prices and staff friendly.
Would go back again!

We had a wonderful stay in the Fueng.Beach Apts.However,even though they are called Beach Apts.they are a distance from the beach which involves taking a road under the bridge of a very busy motorway!
The hotel staff were excellent,dealing with small things like extra pillows,broken lightbulb etc within a very short time.
Reps were very busy and full marks to them for all their hard work each day.A little more information is needed,however, at the welcome meeting about local attractions.
Brilliant shopping centre next door to the complex-has everything you could possibly need!

We stayed in the Fuengirola Beach in July 05. First impression of the complex was good. Didnt realise that Pool view had to be paid for in advance, that was a surprise to us, we requested it but you must pay for it when booking apparently! And it is v. expensive for two weeks, but you may also be lucky enought to get a pool view by chance.
We were to the front of the building and there was construction work going on during the day, I thought I would not be able to put up with looking at a building instead of the pool but in fact, it turned out to be the better side to be on as all pool views look across at each other and you have no privacy, whereas the front of the building has.
The sun teracces are big and spacious, the pools are also big. The facilities are good, laundry on site etc, there is a big shopping centre across the road for your fresh products every day with up to 100 shops, Zara, Wallis, Dorothy P etc. Nice for a cool down in the afternoon.
There is a big supermarket there also which is really good value.
All in all a very good holiday. If I had one criticism of the complex it would be the underage drinking of the kids, they somehow manage to get their spirits and then use bottles of coke to mix the drink and it was disheartening to see them getting drunk at such a young age. The parents of the kids were as much to blame as the kids, but there could have been more done to prevent the amount of drinking going on.

When arriving at the hotel staff were ok.
The room was really nice and clean but compact but we really had nice view of the pool.
The only thing that was the problem was the walk into the town we had to get taxis and because there was 5 of us we had to get 2 at a time.
The entertainment was poor and everything stopped at midnight apart from an over 18s bar which was very small and didn't like. There was alot of under age drinking.
