We've just returned from our weeks holiday at the Gardenia Park. The hotel itself is good, although the main item that it falls down on is the food. Very little choice for an all inclusive hotel, and what was available was often cold. We found something to eat most days, although chicken and pork can become a bit repetitive.
The hotel is in a good spot, although it is quite a walk to the main town area of Fuengirola where all the shops are - remember to pack your walking shoes. Hotel very clean, staff very friendly especially if you try to thank them in spanish. I would go there again but would know this time what to expect in the food department. Entertainment not too bad for the usual hotel organized stuff - 9 year old enjoyed it anyway.

We have visited this hotel three times all with Airtours and all on an all inclusive basis, we even took along my in laws to show them how good it was.
The hotel has high standards which it works hard to keep, the housekeeping is done all day, everyday, and is done well.
The entertainment team work with what they have to entertain a full age range of holiday makers, they try hard and mostly do well. The food is great, the only moans we heard during our stay were about the foreign food they were forcing on the guests at the self service buffet. The foreign food being gazpachio, paella, parama ham olives and tortilla all of course being Spanish! Erm are we in Spain or what, yes they have chips, and yes they have beans but we can get them at home everyday.
We did eat well drink well and holiday well at this hotel, and when we took out for their first trip abroard my in laws at the age of 65+ they also thought it was great.
We used local transport to get around, up into Mijas on the bus not for the feint hearted, to Puerto Banus, and into Benalmadena. Gibraltar a nice day excursion and yes we did eat out but only because we like the food at certain bars and down fish alley.
Vist the churches, do the market, eat churos and hot chocolate, but dont go to Spain and moan about the Spanish.

We arrived on 29 December for a week. Hotel was clean, rooms were ok and linen was clean. Gardens and pool area were exceptionally clean and tidy. Food was plentiful, but the variety was limited, children's food was very limited, so they nearly all ate burgers and toasties.
Being a couple of kilometres from the town centre meant taxis or buses, but they are not expensive so its no great problem. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, especially when you consider that nearly 80% of holiday makers were pensioners on long winter break.
During our stay the entertainment was quite good, and varied each night. We would not go back again, simply because we like to visit new places each time we go away.

We had an excellent holiday at the Gardenia Park. It is a bit out of town however local bus at back door, out of town bus at front door, railway station 300 yds away all of which are very reliable and inexpensive with a service that this country could certanly use. Would love to go back.
