All staff were very friendly and spoke super English.
Snack bar by pool had a very limited menu, and on occasions the staff would insist that drinks were delivered to your table/sunloungers even when you ordered at the bar, not very good for my thirst levels.
I have to say that the kids really enjoyed the kids clubs and pool - they also enjoyed the daytime events put on by the Hotel Ents team. Evening ents were a little limited though - and views of the stage were often obscured by pillars.
I'm not sure about the system for getting a sunlounger - queueing up from 8.30 for the doors to be opened at 9.00 got a little boring.
Also, be careful - the Hotel supermarket closes at 15.00, but it is fairly well stocked, except for fruit and newspapers.

Our 2 bed apartment was very spacious and was cleaned virtually every day.
Many of the staff were the same as when we travelled 2 years ago and are very friendly.
Entertainment throughout the day was excellent and evening entertainment was varied with several professional shows throughout the week. A couple of rep shows a week, which personally I am never particuarly keen on. Israel who works for the hotel rather than for Thomsons, was an excellent entertainer.
There were not that many bars in Salou itself which provided entertainment suitable for all my children, so we tended to stay at the hotel which they were more than happy with.
With 2 footie mad sons the pitch kept them occupied for ages.
2 excellent swimming pools,no faults at all.
Although we stayed on a self catering basis we did eat in the restaurant several times and the food was great.
Only negative thing I can say about the holiday is the fact we had to set our alarm every morning in order to get up and queue for the sun beds.

The check in was very quick and we were in our apartment within 10 minutes of being dropped off. No matter if you are self catering or half board you get a full equiped apartment. We had a one bedroomed apartment and our only complaint was the cot being right in the middle of the living area but there was plenty room in the bedroom so we moved it there. The bed under the sofa was hard to move so we only used it twice. (ROOM121)
The apartment was clean and it was a roadside but there were no pool views left. We were on the roadside where the bus drops you off and we heard very little noise although we realised that the bedroom patio doors didn't seem to be as sound proof as the living room one, it wasn't as unbearable as friends who had a room on the other roadside and they couldn't sleep. The balcony's had nice little drying ropes which were handy. There was one problem we encountered and that was only have one key and the key having the electicity key to the apartment on it so one of us had to stay awake at all times until the others had arrived.
The food in the restaurant was delicious varied every night with 2 themed nights on the reps nights off. Entertainment was shared by the hotel and the thomson reps.
At 9am the doors to the pool opened and there was a mad rush for the sun beds. But it's not the sunbeds but the positioning of where you put the sunbeds which causes a rush. We walked every morning at around 9.05am and got the same position every morning.
The bar was reasonable and happy hour between 8-9pm was busy but good. The bar staff were very good and deserved better respect that some selfish people gave them.
The shop is adequately stocked but it is cheaper to get juice in the main street.
The staff within the hotel were fantastic and always made time for us. They happily phoned taxi's and organised who's taxi was who's. We went to Porta Ventura 3 times and the taxi price varied as we shared with another family one time and another we got taken right to the front door. Getting home a bus took us right to the hotel.
The main street and beach were not far. Turn left out the hotel and a few minutes walk takes you to the main street where all the shops are. Half way down the street is a little shop which sells british papers. Another few minutes down the street is the beach. Very busy so I'd advise you to go early if you want to get on.
My only complaint was the number of people who smoked round the pool yet never used an ashtray. Ciggarette ends were never cleaned up. The cleaner seemed to only do bits at a time and always when it was too late.
The kids clubs were not on everyday so make sure you check when they will be off. They were never busy when they were on either. They were free to over 3's but the creche was 15e a time which was a tad expensive for 2 hours.
There was a washing machine and tumble dryer. Washing machine took 24 minutes. Buy tokens at reception. It won't get your clothes clean but after our son was sick it did the job to get them back to normal. I would take washing tablets with you to bung in to get things really clean. There is also a little pool down stairs which was never used whenever I peered in.
Otherwise the holiday itself was fantastic. So much so that we have booked to go next year. The weather was fantastic too apart from that first day.

The pool was safe and clean, the aqua aerobics were fun and daytime games were entertaining. Alison, Gemma and Israel spend a huge amount of time and energy keeping holiday makers happy.
The evening entertainment was varied, the children's disco kept them happy every night, my 2yr old thoroughly enjoyed trying to learn the steps to the dances. Again, Alison, Gemma and Israel kept everyone entertained until the guest act came on at 10pm.
I would say my only complaint was that our room was on the first floor, straight above the bar, every night when the entertainment had finished, the cleaners spent over an hour moving the furniture to clean the floor, this was VERY noisy and kept us awake every night. It then started again quite early in the morning.
Also the maid service in the room was not fantastic, we don't think they used a sweeping brush or mop at all in our room.
Putting our complaints aside, the hotel was fantistic but most of this was credit to Alison, Gemma and Israel.
