All that can be said about this hotel is FAB! would definatley go back. close to the beach with a 10 minute walk and close to town centre with good nightlife. hotel was very clean with great pool and great complex. staff were lovely and helpful. the ebntertainment was ok, but great entertainment in the town centre

Fantastic hotel. one of the best holidays ever!

We stayed in the hotel Avenida park, and are planning to return sometime soon, as it has been the best hotel we have stayed at, out of several holidays to salou, after the first time staying at hotel avenida park we were only back 2 days and booked it again for the second year, this will be our third year staying at the hotel and we wouldn't consider anywhere else.
the location of the hotel was within reach of everything we needed, 2 min taxi ride to port aventura, 5 min taxi to water park in la pineda which also has a dolphin and sealion show which we found was less expensive and more fun than costa caribe,plenty of shops and amusements within 5 min walk and beach is only a 10 min walk. Above all the staff in the hotel from chambermaids to barstaff where friendly and helpful, and were always making you feel very welcome. p.s. the bar wouldn't be the same without sar, so hopefully he will still be there when we return in 2005

We have been to Salou 5 times but I have only stayed in this hotel once.

The hotel is realy clean and the pool is realy big and good. It has a park, snooker tables and crazy golf around the pool so you can keep an eye on the kids while you sunbathe.

There is also the Thomson entertainers doing games around the pool so you can just join in whenever you want. There is also kids clubs open all day and the kids reps take you to the entertainment room on a night as well as the day.

There is an indoor pool down stairs what is really good for the kids.

The staff are really friendly and they have a good laugh with you.

I would recomend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a good time at Salou.

Got back from my week's holiday on Saturday (21/09/02). I have to say that the hotel was FANTASTIC! Everything was spot on! Decor is nice, room facilities adequate (though beds a bit uncomfortable), food in restaraunt lovely (thoughs sometimes not piping hot), good kids facilities (the reps were really nice to my 4 yr old), the pools were good (nice and cool and clean) and the staff were all very helpful. Some of them didnt speak a lot of English but they would always go out of their way to try and understand!

There were a few problems with our room: lock fell off balcony door (!), bathroom door locked from the outside and we couldnt get in (!!!), air con controls a bit fiddly and the fridge was leaking when we arrived! Reception were totally fine with us asking them to fix things and helping us. Anything we reported was fixed quick smart!

I would definately go back there. I would recemmend it to anyone with a family. Not so good for the 18-30 types! I do have one word of warning though! There was a children's clown show one afternoon. The clown was called Enrici, or something. His show left a lot to be desired! His audience was full of timy tots and what did he go and do? He produced a pair of black lacy thongs from his clown's trousers! And when he was doing that trick where he pretends to find coins from kids ears, noses etc, he produced one from a little boys "down-below" parts! Myself and my Mum were on the verge of taking my little away from the show. They can obviously get away with more over there than they can over here.

Great Hotel but here a few pointers if you are planning a visit or are going soon.





Sunbeds .. The rush starts at nine when the hotel staff up the doors. Despite the warnings that sunbeds can not be reserved. People where reseving they place in the queue with towels as eraly as 7.30 .. pathetic and this should be stamped out.


Enertainment .. don't be to optimistic about this !! it ranged from the excellant (glow in the dark animation) to the mind numbinhly pathetic Farewell parties !! they hace their own entertainment team as well as the Thompson reps.


Can't fault the Thompson guys .. join in the Aquasplash its great fun !! The hotel kids entertainer is a real star she has so much energy !!!


Smoking .. bad for a super family hotel .. the only non smoking areas were inside the bar .. no views of the entertainment and right next to the arcade machines .. at which you were allowed to smoke... in this day and age sadly Spain is a bit backwards regarding this.





Ok moans over the good points ...


The food !!! lots of choice !!!, the pool a good size with a life guard, the kids clubs .. my boy loved it .. especially Lisa she is a credit to the company.


Port Aventura .. a great theme park some of the rides have long queues. With your entry ticket you are allowed EXPRESS entry to one main ride. If you want to do this the bigest queue on the 3 days we went was always the log flume. WIthout EXPRESS you would wait about an hour !! with EXPRESS max wait was 5 mins. We opted to spend 17 Euro's each (ouch) on buying EXPRESS GOLD armbands .. very useful with children if the adults have to take turns doing rides.


Or if mad like my son do the rapids four times in a row !!!


Getting their we opted to take a taxi cost about 5 Euros each way. Although you can get a bus or land train.


Excursions .. trip to Barcelona was good value .. Footy stadium, Zoo and shopping !! always tried Bona Vista market .. not the best market in the world and it only took 10 mins or so to get their felt ripped off.


HAPPY HOUR !! 8 - 9 PM 2 for 1 on all drinks .. great deal. Go for Jugs of Sangria and you are sorted all evening !!!





Oh well gone on too much here .. great holiday.

We stayed at the hotel Golden Avenida a year ago and we enjoyed it so much that we are going to stay here again next year.

The hotel was great and it catered for all ages in the daytime there was clubs for children 6 days a week where you could dump them off without having to worry about them because the reps were great and when we got to the later hours especially happy hour this was a great time of the day 2for the price of one.

The entertainment was great they had glow in the dark animation and also even a snake man. There was a shop located on the ground floor and the hotel also included a jacuzzi.

The food was great and you could eat as much as you like for 6 pound per person.

For the older lot a few minutes up the road is an array of lively night clubs which do not close to early hours.

If you are a thrillseeker Port Aventura is just located a couple of minutes down the road. A ride I reccommend is the Dragon Kahn if you dare which you can see from the hotel.

I reccommend this hotel to anyone who is considering going to Salou
