Accommodation was excellent - first impressions were amazing - the reception was very impressive with all marble floors etc - very clean and tidy always.

The staff in reception and the bar couldn't do enough for you.

The pool was great - a small pool for children and a large pool for all - very clean.

The rooms were well equipped and perfect for a family with children - a hob, fridge, kettle, toaster and plates, cutlery, pots and pans - all provided even if you were half board.

Room service was daily and fresh towels daily too - sheets changed regularly. Did have a balcony overlooking the road which did get quite noisy though - recommend you ask for the Pool View. Did wish the balcony was more enclosed for a toddler - couldn't relax at all.

Entertainment - didn't really take full advantage of the entertainment but there was something on every night and even during the afternoons - they really know how to look after you.

Food - the staff in the restaurant were very helpful - and the choice was excellent - breakfast was the same everyday, the menu changed daily for evening meals and they did have some theme nights - it was a good opportunity to try something new and - if you didn't like it you could go back for something else - in short there was something for everyone.

Location - was a ten minute walk to the beach and it is all flat level - no steep hills etc.
Reps - Very energetic but wasn't impressed when my sister got her purse stolen - they directed us to the Police Station right over the end of town. They did not offer to come with us or give any advice. When we got there some tourists had their First Choice Rep with them.

Would definitely go to a Golden Hotel again but was not impressed with the resort itself.
Did go in 2005 but wasn't given the option to select it.

We stayed at the Golden Avenida Park. We were self catering but had lunch a few times from the snack menu which was very limited (not a lot to choose from, propably 6 things). It was very clean, maid service every day. My wee girl was only 18 months, so she was a bit young for the clubs etc., The pool was clean and if you give reception a deposit, they will provide you with Thompson beach towels, so theres no need to take your own. I would return to this hotel and would recomend it to anyone and everyone.

We have just returned from staying at Avenida Park Hotel. The hotel was clean with a maid service daily. The food was excellent and the dining area had plenty of high chairs available. The location was ideal as it was just a ten minute walk to the beach and a short taxi ride to Port Aventura theme park which is a must. The hotel staff all spoke English and were very helpful answering questions and giving directions. The entertainment was varied which included prize bingo, disco, quizzes, games, competitions,etc. The Thompson kid zone reps were all fantastic and a credit to the hotel especially Lauren and Shona.I would recommend this hotel to anyone with children and yes I would visit this hotel again, probably next year.

We have just returned from this hotel. This was our second visit, we stayed in Sept 1999. It is still a fantastic hotel for families!! The location is ideal, approx 5 mins walk to centre of Salou and beaches. Very short taxi ride to Port aventura/Costa Caribe water park. You could walk there, but this would take 20 mins. The hotel room was clean and cleaned daily, fresh towels etc. The food variety was excellent. The hotel staff are extremely helpful and friendly. All of the entertainment staff will go out of their way to assist in keeping the children happy. There are clubs 6 days a week. I have 2 children aged 3 and 6 and they thoroughly enjoyed it.Each evening certificates are handed out to the winners of the games played each day. The shop within the hotel stocks most items and was actually cheaper than the supermarkets in Salou. Happy hour each day from 8-9pm!! The sunbeds are available from 9am which helped to avoid the early morning rush for sunbeds. The outer door is locked until then.
The only inconvenience we did find is that rooms are not available until 2pm on the day of arrival. I would have liked to have known this beforehand so I could have been prepared!!!
I would definetely visit this hotel again. It is one of the best hotels I have stayed at.

Our best holiday ever! Could not fault the hotel, staff and reps, helped us out and answered all questions. Main shops and beach at the end of the road. Pool facilities excellant, all day and evening entertainment fantastic. Restaurant really great, lots of choice, but did taste a bit 'bland' after a few days. We took 11 nights here and enjoyed every minute. Our kids of 10 and 13 loved it, not too much much to do for teenagers, mainly youngster disco in evening but they both joined in. 5 minute taxi ride to Port Aventura. Would thouroughly recommend this hotel - although don't forget your iron as only has one (token operated) for whole hotel! Will probably go back again.

We went "self catering" but spent every night in their restuarant as the food was so good and excellent value - especially if you booked a few days at a time as you got a beter deal working out even cheaper.

We are going back later on this year and are still going to go "self catering" as it worked out cheaper to pay at the hotel with their deals than by booking "full board" with Thompson!
Buffet style, huge choice, seperate kids section. We found it an excellent way of trying out different foods ( especially the children) as if you didn't like something you could go and get something else instead! great way of trying out different things.

Cleanliness was brilliant.
Maids every day, made all the beds, changed linen if needed. Tea towels changed. If you wanted clean bathroom towels you had leave the dirty ones in a pile on the floor and they would change them.
Large supply of towels, no need to take any of your own (They even lend you ones to take to the beach -you have to leave a refundable deposit so it costs you nothing!) Leave all your towels at home NO need to take any!
Staff were great. Reception staff were all British. They answered any question you could put to them. They would put a video film on if you requested one to be shown in your room at no charge which the kids enjoyed. TV showed the Sky news channel.
Entertainment. The kids wouldn't join the Thompson groups as they would have been in seperate groups due to their age differences. Next time we go they will be joining in though. Loads put on for them, they could never be bored as there is too much there for them to do. Arcade site, Internet area, discos etc.
One annoying aspect was kids using the elevators as toys. Lifts open onto reception area so I felt that the reception staff could have had it a bit more under control!
Shop there had a good supply of items, and cheap.
We felt very safe sending the children down to the shop area by themselves ( we were on the 5th floor)
It is a very safe and secure hotel with a hotel guard on duty by the main entrance.
We loved this hotel. As I have said we are going again later this year and will probably go again next year

The golden avenida park hotel is brilliant!! It is the best hotel in the world. There are two huge pools linked together with an outdoor spa. There is also an indoor pool with an indoor Jaccusi.

It was brilliant I wish that I was there now. I went in may 2004 and it was hot. Not too hot though. It never rained once. I will definatley be visiting this hotel again!!!!

We have just returned from our holiday at the Golden Avenida Park Aparthotel and wanted to leave our comments here for anyone thinking of staying at this accommodation.

This is a lovely aparthotel situated close to shops, restaurants, bars and the beach. The staff were all very pleasant and most spoke some English, and the Reception staff had good English and were very helpful.

Our one bedroom apartment was clean with simple decor and adequate kitchen facilities and also a hairdryer in the bathroom (very important for us women!). We had a big double balcony that overlooked the swimming pool. The maid was in daily to change towels etc.

The hotel has both a lovely big freeform outside swimming pool, jacuzzi and small children's pool as well as a small indoor pool & jacuzzi. There are plenty sunbeds, and you could also hire a mat to put on the bed for added comfort. There's a small adventure playground for under 5s and a larger one for the 6-12 yr olds. The hotel also has crazy golf, table tennis and pool tables as well as your usual gaming machines. There are 2 internet access points within the main bar and a small mini market shop and laundry facilities on site.

We were on self catering but ate in the hotel almost every night. It was such good value for money. Where in the UK can you eat a 3 course all-you-can-eat-meal for only

Avenida Park has been one of the best hotels i have ever stayed whilst being abroad. Staff were friendly food was excellent and the location of the hotel was fantastic, being in walking distance from the beach, bars shops etc.
The pool at Avineda park was superb as well as being clean and safe for children. Although i did think that the night time entertainment was poor, in the day the activities for children was great.
This has by far been the best holiday me and my family have ever been on and i would recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy there holiday!

we have stayed here twice and the main attraction being the food. It is buffet style but there is so much choice and the quality is high despite it being self serve buffet. Loads of standard stuff chips, salad melons etc but plenty of specials and variety. If it is a little cold it is replaced every 10 minutes. To be honest though after a week it is nice to have a change and eat out.

The hotel is a fair way from the nearest beach, about 10-15 minutes walk. Also at the front and one side of the hotel are quite busy roads with traffic lights. For some reason the spanish insist on sounding their horn when the lights change. If you are low down at the front you may be bothered by the noise, ask for a room on the pool side.

The pool is fantastic, large and an interesting shape. it also has a lifeguard. The staff are very friendly and if you are that way inclined, down to earth and will joke with you.

The negatives apart from the distance from the beach and noise at the front is that salou is looking a little tired and some parts are a little jaded. Walking form the hotel to the centre you have to pass many disgustingly smelly bins and run-down semi derelict bars. But these are isolated.
