Hi there, anyone who is thinking of going tothis hotel think again. Me and my family have just returned (30/05/03) it was the worst 4 star hotel i have ever stayed in. The food in this hotel was repetative and very often luke warm/cold. There was nothing for children until we had been there for 11 days and then they gave them battered octopus rings and cold chips. The childrens pool outside was extremely small and the playground was outside the hotel grounds with a 20ft drop very close by. The staff in general were rude and arogant we had 2 smiles off them all holiday. The bar measures do not compare to the bars in town they only give you half measures and are very expensive. There are also some very petty rules in this hotel i got told off for not wearing shoes in reception, you have to wear bathing caps in the indoor pool at a cost of 175 euros you can only buy them from the hotel shop. Kids are not allowed in there until the afternoon. Cards have to be shown for every meal every day. The indoor pool is supossed to be heated it was freezing the same temperture as the ones outside. The entertainment was also the same each week yes it was very boring. The best place to go in salou for food is buddies and co in the town they were fantasic that was the best night out we had. It does have to be said anyone visiting this hotel or salou may well be disappointed. Take my advise especially if you have children do not go.

In October 2002 and May 2003, my husband i and stayed at Hotel Villa romana in salou. From the moment we arrived we were speechless at the beautifully clean, bright, well decorated interior. The room we had was spotlessly clean and very spacious. Our balcony overlooked the figure of eight swimming pool and we had a lovely view. The restaurant was first class from day one.Everything you could imagine was available for breakfast from full english breakfast, toast, cereal, fresh fruit, cooked meats and much more. Every evening something different and again as much as you could eat. The best night was friday which was fish night, this included whole lobsters, oysters, prawns and many other fish. The hotel is so close to the beach, shops and port aventura
so it is ideal for everyone. We are planning to go back to salou in 2005 and there is only one place i will be staying and thats romana.Nearly forgot to mention the fantastic indoor pool and the lovely jacuzzi

30-8-02 Swapped hotel El Paso for Villa Romana after reading reports on both hotels. Food is definately 5 star with fish and at least four choices of meat at every meal. Hotel is new, clean and ideally located for theme park and bars/restaurants. Staff are mainly helpfull and friendly but have limited English which is common througout the whole resort. You need to get down to the pool before 09:00 and reserve a bed otherwise no chance ! Pool area is too small for the amount of guests so its a little cramped.

Would recommend this Hotel to anyone who wishes to visit the theme park which is 15 mins walk away (uphill).

15 day theme park pass only 65 euros adult and 49.50 child (including one day water park pass) which isn't advertised in any of the holiday brochures and available at the theme park check-in desks.

thank colin for lylo. found the hotel to be very nice accomodation. easy walking distance to the theme park which is well worth a visit. dont miss the finale it is superb....we found the food very fish orientated which is not everybodys cup of tea. the staff were ignorant and very unhelpfull throughout the hotel. entertainment was very basic for 4 star hotel. tried to book a room in the resort for our last day but found staff at the other hotels just as unhelpfull because of this i am going back to cyprus
