Request a room that is facing away from the pool area if you want quiet at night. The rooms facing out have great views and are also very quiet at night even though there is live entertainment going on.

We stayed in room 438 good view over the pool the pictures I have included you will see walk in shower no grip handles and shower mat on the base of the shower and this was provided by the holiday rep

They have water stations dotted around the hotel, which is a great idea. You buy a recyclable bottle for €4 and you can fill it as many times as you like! Saves on buying lots of plastic bottles from supermarkets etc. Eco Friendly ?

Pool view rooms are good, if you want to watch the entertainment from your room. The entertainment is over by 11pm so no problem with noise, unless you go to bed early. Calypso 1 is the block with the restaurant, bars, etc. so I thought it the best choice

salou is a very big resort filled with nothing much except bars and shops ,you couldnt walk all the way along its too long, theirs not much for famileis except PORT AVENTURA. this is a great place,good for big or small kids food good value in park ,look out for the polynesia revue its brill and the fireworks at almost 12 midnight it was truely magical. this was the only highlight of my holiday this is a universal park and its not too big but its impresive, so much did we like the park were off to florida this year ,good ridens salou you can keep it.

The resort of Salou I thought was gorgeous. The centre of the town is so pretty. There is a tree lined promenade next to the beach. At one end of this there is a fountain which lights up at night and it gorgeous. There is a coffee and icecream shop called Fargiis next to the fountain and it is highly recommended. It is a bit pricy but you are on holidays and it is so nice! The beach is lovely with golden sand and is quite big. There are a variety of watersports available. I found the resort to be spotless. It is so clean compared to at home. The resort is a place for all ages. There are alot of clubs and bars and of course lots of irish and english pubs with quizzes and kareoke. Port Aventura is also on the doorstep, just 5min approx by the road train. This is a Universal Studios theme park and you have to vist it. We bought a 2day ticket when we booked our holiday at home. Its a place for all ages again whether you enjoy theme park rides or not you can look around the shops in the 5 themed worlds, go to see a show. Barcelona is only over an hour away by train and the train station is about 30mins walk from the apartments. Definately worth a visit aswell. All in all Salou is a wonderful resort with so much to do and see.

salou is an excellent place to be for all ages. we loved the theme park and could go every day for the whole two weeks. the beach is beautiful and spotlessly clean. bars are good as long as you like karaoke!!

resort is quite good..
surrounding areas a bit dirty.....
beware of the flies and mossies and quite a lot of wild cats about as well...........
specially when your eating

Beaches in Salou are rubbish! very gritty and hard to walk on in bear feet. The best part of the beach is about 3 miles towards Cambrills if you don't mind the walk. The area is pretty dead in September. British tourists have to be the worst for behaviour; I would have liked to have stayed in a hotel occupied by German or Dutch tourists but you only get wise after the experience. Supermarkets are overpriced for English produce so either eat out at one of the numerous eating places (there's a nice Chinese restaurant in the main shopping area) or bring your own, as some people do. What can i say? The night life and day time in Salou was fantastic, although we didnt stay around the hotel during the day, we enjoyed days out at the beach which was clean and in walking distance of out hotel also trips to Porta ventura which is excellent value for money. night life in salou was fantastic, lots of English bars to visit and entertainment around the town, we were never short of activities to do.

Hotel about 15-20 min wlk from Salou (we were in Cap Salou)
Probably wouldnt go back to Salou, we have a toddler and there wasnt much for her to do and she was getting bored!!! Went to a bar called Murphy's excellent place would recommend going there definately!!!!
Once you have walked up the main street once, there isnt really a lot to do.
I think its quite expensive now because of the euro, we spent an absolute fortune and we were half board!!! Anyway to whoever, have a good holiday!!

Place was clean enough but we have nothing else to compare it to so it was ok as a first holiday.
Entertainment was ok but nothing spectactular
Beaches were great we found a quiet beach which was ideal
I wouldn't visit the area again but it wasn't too bad.
