Not a 4star and dated, and some staff members rude , we book this hotel on its ratings , but it about a 3star

Request a room that is facing away from the pool area if you want quiet at night. The rooms facing out have great views and are also very quiet at night even though there is live entertainment going on.

They have water stations dotted around the hotel, which is a great idea. You buy a recyclable bottle for €4 and you can fill it as many times as you like! Saves on buying lots of plastic bottles from supermarkets etc. Eco Friendly ?

Pool view rooms are good, if you want to watch the entertainment from your room. The entertainment is over by 11pm so no problem with noise, unless you go to bed early. Calypso 1 is the block with the restaurant, bars, etc. so I thought it the best choice

The beach at El Pineda is one of the best ive been to, the sea is idelic, it was warm and clear and shallow so good for children, the sand did get extremely hot during the day.
There is a long promanade to walk down which has all the bars/restaurants and most shops, plenty of places to sit to do a spot of people watching, the area was clean i noticed salou looked a bit more dirty, El Pineda is a lovely place and very up and coming.

Salou was very nice with a lovely beach and some nice places to eat, there is a fair walk into the main town area but nice in the evening.
The train station is a short distance from sanguli, trains go to Barcelona (only 10 euros return to barcelona sants ( for the nou camp football stadium, a must for footie fans (11 euro tour in stadium ).
Cambrils is a short taxi away about 7 euros it is a lovely place all in all a nice place to holiday.

The nearby beaches were very good quality. We had to walk 500 metres to nearest beach and 800m to the nicest and biggest beach. The Bus service is first class so this was not a problem. We had great veiw from windows of apartment and balcony as the resort is at the top of a hill.
The overall clenliness of the resort was very good, especially the swimming pool area allthough swimming pool would be crowded in peak season and the sunbeds are limited.
The nearby Water Park is well worth a visit and would recommend the excursion to Barcelona which was worth every euro.

Salou is a very busy resort with lots to do. Port Aventura is good for all ages, but make sure you only buy your tickets at port aventura itself as it is cheaper. Barcelona is a brilliant day (or couple of days) out, the zoo is quite big and you can get really close to the animals. The Ramblas is good too, lots of street entertainers but just as many pickpockets.
The beach in Salou is clean but extremely busy and its easy to loose someone there. The sunbeds are 7euros each per day.

Salou is a lovely resort. Great for families.
There are lots of bars and restaurants, the beach is very clean and the sea is lovely. Beware of the locals who practically set up their sunbeds & parasols in the water! They tend to stay for the morning and leave about 1ish. You can hire sunbeds & parasols on the beach. These cost approx 12 euros for 2 sunbeds and a parasol.
Port Aventura is worth a visit. We paid for an evening ticket (24 euros per adult) as there aren't many things for very young children to do (our daughter is 16 months). However, we did go on the train around the park and on a boat trip. The fireworks and light show were excellent. Try to get seats as close as you can to the lake, we didn't realise most of the show is on the water. The prices of food & drink are very reasonable. We had a huge plate of chilli & rice for around 6 euros.
Salou is definitely worth a visit.

Resort was very clean.
Portaventura is great, good display at midnight.
Aquapolis waterpark is another must.
Beach has all facilities with lots of watersports.
Barcelona is about an hour away but worth a visit for football ground, shopping, sights and or fountain display.

The hotel location was ideal for families and there no noiose policy after 12.30 was strictly enforced, this is in an ideal location away from the new part of Salou with all the bars and clubs which means a good nights sleep for all including the children.
The local shops in old town Salou are a short walk away and the beach is approx 15 mins walk although the hotel do have their own shuttle bus to take you there and back.
Nearby either short (and cheap) taxi or bus ride away there is Aquapolis (water park with Sea Lion & Dolphin show), Port Aventura and the Caribe Water Park to name but a few if you do not want to spend your entire holiday by the pool.

The resort stayed in was Salou. Really enjoyed Salou as a place, plenty to do. Port Aventura was great. Had 14 day pass which turned out great value for money. If looking for somewhere a bit more lively go to new Salou, brill for adults and kids. Beaches are good, plenty of snack bars, toilets and showers. can get busy though. overall excellent resort and would visit again

This was our 2nd year in a row to Salou, so obviously we thought it was a great place, especially for kids. The appealing factor for me was the short flight time and quick transfer time from the airport.
Port Aventura was great for the kids - be sure to buy your 14 day tickets in the UK before you leave. We went about 6 times which was more than enough (considering we had been here last year).
We never actually used the beach at all, but from what I could see, they did look nice and clean. The beaches at Cambrills & la Pineada are just as clean but much, much quieter.
There are a number of areas that are not very clean, but you tend to get used to them and don't really notice them after a while.
There are lots of family friendly pubs - our particular faviourite was next to Champions. This place had mini golf, trampolines, pool tables and games machines - kept the kids amused for ages. Do try and get to the Municipal Park. There's a lovely small tapas bar next to the fountains that serves unbelievably cheap drinks.
I would definitly visit Salou again, although not next year as we've already been 2 years in a row.

night time entertainment seems limited if you have children. we stayed at apartments for entertainment although by the time we had dinner and a walk about it was about 10:30 at earliest before we settled with a drink for the night. plenty of pubs etc about with clowns etc to keep children amused but this monotonous night after night.
there are 2 water parks we visited. one in la pineda 15 mins away. this is quite a good park with enough scary slides, however quite busy so a bit of queueing. other one is 45 mins away, aqualeon. this has safari etc in it. also must rides are ring based which i thought was great and no queues or very short ones 5 mins. for really young children two areas for them with slides etc. my son who is 4 really enjoyed it.
trips to barcelona on buses reports good. we hired a car and drove to water parks and barcelona ourselves. barcelona very big.
portaventura: didnt buy tickets before we went. but people we meet lent us there tickets one evening. we arrived around 9pm and did a whistlestop tour, basically any rides all of us could go on we went on. our son had to reach marker of 1m to get on rides so we went all around and got on whatever we could. no queues worth mentioning. my advise would be dont go during as it would be far to hot to stand in queues which are long during the day. iwould say if you went for three evenings you would be on all you need to go on, we however did it all in 2.5 hrs...
