Not a 4star and dated, and some staff members rude , we book this hotel on its ratings , but it about a 3star

Request a room that is facing away from the pool area if you want quiet at night. The rooms facing out have great views and are also very quiet at night even though there is live entertainment going on.

They have water stations dotted around the hotel, which is a great idea. You buy a recyclable bottle for €4 and you can fill it as many times as you like! Saves on buying lots of plastic bottles from supermarkets etc. Eco Friendly ?

Pool view rooms are good, if you want to watch the entertainment from your room. The entertainment is over by 11pm so no problem with noise, unless you go to bed early. Calypso 1 is the block with the restaurant, bars, etc. so I thought it the best choice

The best thing about Salou is Port Aventura it is as if you are in a different place. Clean tidy no rubbish anywhere, the kids and the big kids had great fun. The only thing was you weren't allowed to take in your own food or drink and the parks prices for food and drinks were way over the top and the food was rubbish.
I wouldn't go again I have been to Disney world before and would rather pay the extra and go back there again only thought Id give this a try as I dont much like the 9 1/2 hour flight to Orlando.
Anyway I expect there are a lot nicer places to stay than the San Francisco hope you all have a nice time.

The location was fantastic!! Close to the beach, shops, bars (aimed and families and singles) and clubs further up!!
Within walking distance to amazing theme park and water park - universal mediterranea and cost caribe!!
If you cant be bothered to walk though, you can grab a train/bus thing for 1 euro return!!

Very good resort, lots of pubs, and entertainment, very busy resort.
7 days is too short, 14 days is too many.

SALOU
Was fine as a resort but no different that other resorts in Spain the same type of shops
PORTA VENTURA
A 20 minute stroll from the Hotel
This is great to visit the best time is in the evening as it is very hot in the daytime and lots of Spanish teenagers on day trips.
If you have kids under 8 it is worth hiring a double buggy as it is a lot of walking also it is good to use to carry bags and dry clothes after water rides. The middnight firework display is wonderful The kids loved it. also good themed shows. Buy your tickets before you go and have a 7 or 14 day pass it is worth it

Salou is great place for the family. Although the lucky lucky men selling things on the streets can be quite scary. The beaches are lovley especially a little one we found at the top of salou which was nice and quiet but a very big hill to climb to get of it and when hot it can be very tiring. All in all a nice holiday but dont expect to much as you could be disappointed.

We visited Salou during June last year. The resort became much busier during our second week (24th June) when the Spanish children started their holidays. The beach was busy, but not crowded. There is a good variety of restaurants and shops which start from the beach and go back quite a few streets.
Streets, beach and restaurants are clean.
Salou has plenty of pubs and clubs to entertain all at night but during the day the Port Aventura theme park is recommended. It has a great selection of rides for all ages and is within walking distance of all hotels, but there is also buses and wee theme park trains which travel back and forward from the park to several stops in Salou.
There is also the water park Costa Caribe which is a great day out. Plenty of rides for young and old and the main swimming pool has a wave machine. Lots of loungers and seats are placed around the park and also lockers available to keep your possessions in, which is helpful if there is only two of you there.
Trips to Barcelona and the Nou Camp are available too and well worth it as it is only an hour away.
Definately recommend Salou, we are going back again this year.

Brilliant resort, excellent nightlife. Would recommend going to Salou on Ryanair. In the airport there is a booth by the carousel where you can purchase tickets for a bus to take you straight to your hotel and pick you up at the end of your holiday for 9 euros return.

The promenade and beach areas are kept very clean and in excellent condition. The beach is ideal if you have children as lovely sand and plenty of fun things on the beach for them to play on, ie. climbing frames, swings etc.
The fountain at the end of the promenade is well worth a visit especially at night when it is lit up and you can watch the dancing waters for ages. Plenty of shops and bars in the main town so never would be bored.
The other main attraction is the theme park and water park and also the train station is handy for trains to Tarragona, Barcelona and Cambrills.
All in all a very enjoyable place to stay.

The resort is ideal for the egg and chip brigade or people with fussy eaters in the party.
Resort is pretty much all English, Irish, Scottish, etc... bars. Do not come here if you want to experience anything Spanish.
Port Aventura does not disappoint though excellent place to visit, will be even better when the new ride opens later this month. Would only visit again to revisit Port Aventura and go on a trip to Barcelona could take or leave the resort itself
