We spent most of our time at the resort of Yasmine Hammamet with its Ice Rink, Carthage Land, Casino and Marina. The resort is very clean with a variety of things to do during the day and at night.

The beach was good but the one around at the Medina has slightly clearer water and less seaweed.

The resort was very clean

Fairly clean, the usual bits and pieces of mess and rubbish around though.

Beach was relatively clean, lots of seaweed but generally fine.

Very little in the way of local entertainment, mostly hotel-based though there were one or two other options in other hotels/bars.

With more building taking place, I think this will change soon.

There seemed to have been loads of seaweed on the beach and when we mean loads it needed to be removed by a digger.

Cannot comment on resort entertainment as we only stayed in the hotel.

However, if you go to the markets be aware that you are hassled constantly, to the extent that you will be chased down the street in order for them to make a sale.

We went to Old Hammemmet by taxi which is very cheap, and found that we were approached by people saying 'do you remember me from your hotel' please ignore these people.

The beach was lovely and sandy with banana boats, jet skis & para gliding, lots of people selling things on the beach too if you like that kind of thing, best part of the holiday was their beach.

Stayed in Hammamet (South). Its a part than has more authenticity than the new-purpose built Yasmine Hammamet. There are plenty of hotels to visit or bars/clubs - whichever. Wandering round the town itself is not for the faint-hearted but it can be fun. One day the Tunisian shopkeepers will realise that if they leave you alone to look you might find something you want to buy instead of pouncing on you as you walk pass and almost dragging you into the shop. Walking round the Medina is better now - not quite so much pestering. Nice places to walk and the market is great fun for very fresh food - some of it still alive.
Will be going back later in the year.

Then hotel Bel Air is not far from Hammamet. About 7 minutes by taxi. costing 3/4 dinnar, about £3. Personally I hated the haggeling one is supposed to do. We found a few shops close to then hotel that were better value than one gets in the Medina, and the price was fixed, AND at a good price. Most of the people I met did not like having to haggle. When in the Medina, the shopkeepers follow you and sometimes grab you to make you look and shop with them. That annoyed me a lot. I advise anyone not to carry all the dinnars they have in the one purse, only have a small amount in any one purse. If thye shopkeeper sees that you have more money, they will want you to spend it and will tell you that you have more in the purse. Try to give them the correct amount as sometimes they will hold on the the change and try to get you to purchase more goods.

The resort has a good standard of cleanliness, excellent bars & restaurants but still not too noisy. The beach is always clean and tidy.

The resort was great and was very clean and tidy, this also went for the beach and water. The area is very plesant and clean and I would recommend the area to anyone that was thinking of going.
The entertainment was excellent and very memorable.
Both my wife and I enjoyed it so much we are going back next year.
