We found the Tunisian people friendly and eager to talk to us about England. Entertainment needs to be more professional, however the animation team do not lack enthusiasm just need direction. Man doing river dance was great worth seeing on its own.
Nice walk to resort. Food was ok. The Italian restaurant is well worth a visit. Best meal of the week. Our only moan about this hotel would be the bar drinks. Boozers beware this is not the place for you. It was virtually impossible to over-indulge. Luckily we did not want that kind of holiday.
Overall we enjoyed our break and would return to resort.

The hotel and the holiday actually exceeded our expectations, which was a very welcome surprise!
The food at the Abou Sofiane is fairly basic and not of the highest quality (presentation or flavour). Nevertheless we managed to find food that was suitable to all in the party, although this was sometimes a struggle. The dining room was not air conditioned (certainly in October)which did little to enhance the experience. We were offered two meals in the A La carte restaurants - a Tunisian restaurant at the Abou Sofiane and an Italian restaurant at its sister hotel, The Riviera which is next door. Both meals were of a higher standard than in the normal dining room - in fact the Tunisian meal and restaurant were very good.
The hotel rooms were fairly basic, but clean. The bedrooms were of a reasonable size and the bathroom adequate. Towels were changed daily. The housekeeping staff were very helpful and friendly as indeed were all staff at the hotel.
The hotel pool and surroundings were kept clean and tidy and there was sufficient space (although sun lounger availability was a bit tight at times). There was a poolside bar which served lunchtime snacks - ideal for the girls. Pool / beach towels were supplied.
The animation team were very active, particularly for the teenage visitors, and the girls enjoyed the activities - from activities in the pool (water polo etc) to football!. There appeared to be a cr

Having read all of the reviews I could find before I went, I thought it only fair to share my experiences with anyone thinking of holidaying there!
Hotel/Rooms:The hotel was full during the week we were there and after the first few days we joined in with getting up early to reserve a sun bed - or more importantly a parasol

Staff excellent.

Friendly, clean, lots to do, good for all ages! My only complaint is that the entertainment on a night is in a large tin hut, not very nice if you are making the effort to dress up.
There was not even a table to put your drink on. There is a very nice nightclub that would be excellent for the evening entertainment, but that was always closed until 11pm.
This is my second visit to the hotel and it was nice to be remembered, I would definately go back again,

The indoor pool was in use it was good and clean.
The hotel was fairly clean and comfortable, the room a good size and large balcony.
The staff were all lovely, very polite and friendly although I felt the dining room waiters were after a good tip at the end of the holiday as they were over attentive compared to other hotels we have been in.
The food left a great deal to be desired, I was served a burger which was pink inside, some pork at dinner was the same, breakfast was poor, salad and potato, chopped sausage which was awful the pancakes and omelettes were o.k. lunch and diner were much the same with little variation liver, rabbit, pork, beef, chicken (which smelt of fish), were the meats on offer although it was difficult to distinguish at times, fish was available too, not very nice though.
The deserts were nice with a good choice but tended to be the same every day, the pizzas at the outdoor pool restaurant were good.
The entertainment team, Kiki, Toto, Aemen and about 16 more did an excellent job from 10.00a.m. until late at night they were the life and soul of the hotel - around the pool in the day and performing professional shows at night then dancing with guests before and after the show - a real party atmosphere, well done Animation Team!
A few moans, all the sunbeds on the beach and at the pool were reserved with towels at 5.00-6.00a.m. you could not get one by 8.00a.m. There were long queues for drinks at night the hotel was short of glasses and just collected them and swilled them around in the sink and served drinks in them without drying I

The pool area is way too small for the number of guests that stay there and you cannot get a sunbed no matter what time of the day you get up.
Food is very repetitive, and extremely simple, having stayed in several all-inclusive hotels before this one was a joke. All of the drinks are seriously watered down (and this was the comments made by everyone we had spoken to).
The Cashier at reception was absolutely miserable and the guy in charge of the bar seemed in a bad mood all the time. It said in the brochure that a mini bar would be available on request we requested one and were charged 30 pounds sterling. When we arrived back in the room there was a rusty old fridge sitting there with no drink in it (not even water) when we asked about it they told us that the 30 pounds was for an empty fridge.
Air con was absolutely hopeless, I guess the only good thing going for this hotel was the private beach which was absolutely gorgeous.
Everyone we spoke to in this hotel said there would be no way they would be going back.
Staff are ok if they think a tip is involved, but otherwise are short tempered. Also you have to collect one bottle of water per room each afternoon if you need a drink in the night.
All-inclusive I don

The food is glorious with plenty of choice. Four fruit juices at breakfast and two soups at lunch/dinner. Good choice of salad, vegetables and meats.
There is a good swimming pool and gardens with a large family of cats. This hotel is clean and is in a good structural and decorative order. There is a good atmosphere and they get a lot of repeat business. We cannot fault this hotel or the resort which is civilised and relaxed. This is a lovely alternative to the other commercial, rip off, Costa del Blackpool Mediterranean holidays. We would go back again.

When we first arrived the hotel looked nice and well looked after. The room was lovely over looking the sea. But then the banging started apparenty some work going on in the next room. Two rooms later we were happy and a excellent holiday it was from then on.
The entertainment staff were very enthusiastic (sometimes a bit too pushy) but very nice. However a word of warning to the young ladies as the waiters/entertainment staff can be a bit forward! (watch your daughters/girlfriends/wives)
The food was great lots of choice..even for fussy eaters..try the freshly made omelettes for breakfast they are lovely!
Try a massage they are cheap and out of this world! All in all a great holiday..wish I was there now!

The rooms were in need of refurbishment, however were very clean and with soft towels.
The bar staff are fantastic and very friendly and welcoming.
The entertainment team are very enthusiastic and try to keep people busy all day long.
The facilities are excellent, the private beach area with loungers and bar, the indoor pool, tennis courts etc are all excellent and well-maintained. Plenty to do if the weather is not for sunbathing.
The food takes some getting used to, especially breakfasts, but do try everything there was a wide variety and it was all nice. There are staff preparing to-order fresh made pasta dishes, omelettes, crepes and the Tunisian night in the restaurant was good. There are several places to eat throughout the day and you would never go hungry!! I also recommend the cherry brandy and the ice-cream for dessert!
The Tunisian a-la-carte was excellent but the Italian (in the Riviera complex) was the most un-Italian place serving poor, cold food.
The resort itself is lovely with a great marina and fountain display.
Locally-booked excursions are cheaper than with your tour operator, the quad biking was good. However, the camel caravan was upsetting, the horses there were neglected and looked ill - steer clear if an animal lover.
We would definitely consider going back there again.
