The resort is very well planned something to do for all ages and disabilities.
The beach bar etc could do with some refurbishment a few more games and things laid on.
The resort entertainment were very entertaining with the club dances which you will definatly know by the end of the holiday.

The Port is rather nice and clean with fountains that dance to music at night. The traders are rather keen to get you into there shop and sell you something. The beach is clean and worth a visit. The restaurants are very nice and reasonably priced with alcohol available in some.

Resort was very clean and tidy. A long walk to P.E.K but a few dinar by taxi.P.E.K is a pretty marina. Great to sit alongside and people watch. Prices very good. Please haggle in gift shops, it can be so funny and you learn a lot. Tunisians have a sense of humour too and it has never been an issue where we have felt threatened. I went shopping with a female blonde friend for a handbag and we had great service and an even better price. Could have also got a husband each, but I dont think hubby would share me. Try the Jolly Roger boat trip whilst in P.E.K makes a change and its great to dive of the boat into the deep blue sea. Again a fun trip. Camel riding too. Meet the Camel who drinks Coke out of a bottle and kisses you. Its really pleasant to take a ride out in to the fields and see the scenery. We have visited this area 3 times and we always enjoy it. We never get tired of all the things to do. I think Tunisia is very much like Turkey, but the people are more pleasant. They dont seem as pushy in the commercial areas and the prices are just as good. My husband was very wary of going to this Country at first, but now he would prefer Tunisia as a short haul holiday. If you go you will enjoy yourself. Give it a try. Happy holidays

The resort is well kept and tidy.
The people are probably the rudest I have encountered on my travels. I dont mean the haggling and constantly being asked to look at their goods - that doesnt bother me one bit and can haggle as much as them i.e. I took some good vodka over and sold it to them (their local vodka is quite pitiful). They dont seem very happy people even amonst themselves.
The beaches are clean and the water clear and warm, well it was when we were there but the temperatures did reach 50+
Trips are cheap enough - but the boat trip isnt worth going on - please avoid and dont waste half a day of your holiday!
Lack of evening entertainment outside the hotel. Only about 2, one being the Brau House and the other being an Irish bar called Puca that belongs the the Kenz.
Would I go again - only for a cheapie/last minute get away.

Found the resort very nice - but some retailers took advantage of our not knowing the local currency. Never went to any markets - happy to pay the stated prices in the shops during day time hours - and could not bear the hassle.
Used a Tuk-Tuk (like a taxi but takes more passengers) to visit El Jem - wonderful trip - but extremely dangerous roads.

We went to PEK last september, and nothing much had changed since to be honest.
As you approach the resort, you will probably be approached by one or more Jasmine flower boys – these are small boys trying to sell you a small bunch of Jasmine flowers – they are persistent, and if/when you don’t buy them, they may make a gesture to you, verbal or otherwise – just ignore it, and try not to be offended.
At the resort entrance you have the arched entrance to the marina on your left, and the entrance to the town square on your right. The marina has a 2/3 storey souvenir shop at its entrance – this is fixed price, but still very reasonable. Around the marina there is a great selection of restaurants, where you can eat or just sit on fro drinks. Word of note – a lot of the restaurants are not allowed to sell Alcohol, so the lager will be non-alcoholic. This that are allowed, will display the fact.
There are also lots of shops/stalls around the marina, but all of these are the barter/haggle type, where they will try and get you in and make a deal with you.
Next to the marina entrance is a small botanical garden type zoo, which has many small and large birds (incl. Ostriches) and baby camels.
In the main town square, if a large fountain, which has a music and light show of an evening, which the water ‘dances’ in time with. Around the fountain, there are more restaurants, café bars and shops, again most of the shops will want to barter with you, not really fixed price.
Next to the main square is Hannibal Park, a decent sized childrens amusement park, which also has a small ‘medina’ style market – I got dragged into one shop, and almost wasn’t allowed out!!!
Around the resort, there are loads of taxis, and a ‘noddy’ train which can be taken from the main road outside hotels down to the marina, or it can be taken all the way through to Sousse, which we did one day.
We still like PeK, but unfortunately on this holiday, we still didn't manage to go on any trips to see a bit more of Tunisia outside the resort. We may have to wait until our son is older, as the time spent on caoches travelling to see some of the sights, wouldn't have been fair on him (he's 3 years old at present).
As for the Tunisian people, we still found them to be very friendly and polite, and while the haggling/bartering can get tiresome, it is just their way of life, and you just have to learn to go along with it.
Overall, I would recommend Port el Kantaoui as a great first visit to Tunisia. And we will defintiely be going back in future.

PEK is a lovely little resort perfect for families and couples alike.
It felt safe despite all the talk of hassle from traders etc.
Lovely funfair, the Fountain Square has loads of restaurants and the fountains are full of coloured water, the start of which is heralded by wonderful Tunisian music.
The Magasin General supermarket on the right hand side just past the tower at the Marina entrance sells wines and beers. Can recommend Magon red. No alcohol sold here on Fridays.
Found the Les Oliviers and Les Emirs restaurants to be very good.

PEK is a lovely resort but most entertainment etc is based around the hotels. The beach is lovely and clean and the harbour is lovely to walk round at night.

The resort of PEK was nice and clean, although lacking in entertainment, the marina with all the boats was lovely to sit and enjoy a cold beer (when you could find a bar that actually sold alcholic beer!) Be aware of this the waiters will tell you its alcoholic alot aren't and it is disgusting. Look out for the bars that show wine bottles outside, these are the ones that usually sell real beer!!
There is also a square over the road from the marina that has dancing fountains, these are ok the watch but you do get fed up of listening to The Gladiator song! Same problem with the bars around this area, so look for them wine bottles!
There are a few shops around this area, you can barter with them and generally they all have a good sense of humour. Watch out for the attention the young lads show the girls, my daughter is only 13( looking 16) and the boys were also saying how beautiful she was, which was nice but after them following you it gets a bit of a pain. Just tell them to leave it and they usually take the hint!
Just off the square there is a fair ground area, its ok , but my kids aren't keen on fair rides so they weren't that bothereed, my friends kids went on several rides but one visit was enough during our two week stay.
There is a water park in the resort which was cheap to get into, you wasn't allowed to take food and drink in but that was no problem as the prices were very cheap.
The slides weren't that good, there was a lazy river which was nice to go around and also a large pool that had waves every so often.
The beach was very nice, The Kanta hotel had its own private area and the staff were all very friendy. They had water sports that were all very good prices, cheapest I have ever seen on any holiday.
The bar on the beach was nice and clean and the staff very friendly, and prices again very good.
My husband and his mate went to play golf £45.oo with hire of clubs and a buggy. They had a really good day and said the courses were brilliant and picturesque. The course they went on was a championship course and all the way round they saw lots of green keepers maintaining the course to a very high standard
