I don't know if I can call Monastir-Skanes a resort: it's just hotels scattered along the beach. The beach was clean near our hotel, not so clean near the 3* hotels. The water was crystal clear when we arrived but then there was a storm and it filled with algae - nothing anybody could help.

The beach was lovely. very quiet resort, great if you wanted a relaxing holiday.
There was nowhere to walk to on an evening which left you in the hands of the hotel entertainment!!!!

Saraha beach resort was excellent. Entertainment was very good for our children, but older children would of struggled to be entertained.
The beach was very clean had no problems with it. there was plenty of water sports going on for an additional fee, but well worth it like jet ski for £7.50 camel ride £2.00 when haggled. We would definatly visit saraha beach again.

The beach in this area is lovely, golden white sands. But what the brochures don't tell you is that the sea is like Blackpool!!! You couldn't see your feet at all!! But by the second week the water was sparkling clear, apparantley the changes in the seasons sometimes does this!
The one thing that I must warn people about, especially woman and young girls, is the shopping experience!! You are not let alone for one moment, they touch you and pull you and stand in your way to try and sell you things!! I love shopping but after just 1 hour in Monastir and Sousse we went back to the Hotel. It was unbearable. But in Sousse there is a four story building for tourists to buy presents etc and no hassle at all in there.
Beware the yellow taxis they dont go below 60 MPH!! it was an experience and so was the camel riding.
Do not expect it to be like Spain at all. It is very third world and they are very poor people, but yes we would go back again!

Beach was dirty as the hotels use it as land fill sight, horses and camels go up and down and do "natural things", rubbish everywhere including barbed wire, broken lightbulbs and plastics cups etc. There is no resort, no shops, bars or nightlife out of the hotel, very isolated.
Tunisia is not one of the cleanest countries I have visited but they are working on it.
I would go to Tunisia again but not Skanes.

What can I say about this resort...other than the fact that it is none exsisting, there is not much to say.
If you like to go out and about your resort, then do not bother with Skanes as there is nothing and I mean nothing at all outside the hotel complex.
No shops
No bars
No cafes
No nothing.
The beach is lovely soft white sand but you can get some seaweed blowing up on a windy day and tons of little brown things filled with little bugs.
I will not be visiting Skanes again as I was very disappointed in the resort.

When booking a holiday travel agencys should *have* to advise females *not* to visit Tunisia unless they are accompanied by a male.
My daughter, sister and her young son holidayed in Skanes. We were were careful to dress approprately when leaving the hotel i.e trousers and t-shirt.
Our experience was dredful We walked down to the Go-karting (10 minuts from our hotel) around 19:00 to be whistled at, beeped at,and shouted at from cars, motorbikes and passers by.
On another occassion we visited Sousse around 13:00 on entering the Marina comments of beautiful body, nice breasts where shouted at my daughter *I stress again that we covered up* when we left the hotel. We ended up going back to our hotel and decided to stay put until we returned to England.
It's disgraceful that we were treat like this, how would they like it if they came to England, and we treated their women like this. But word will get round how Tunisia treats it tourists and in time people won't want to go there.
During our stay we spoke to many guests of the El Hana hotel to find that most of them would not return to Tunisia. So it's not just our opinion.
