The best thing to take is portable dvd player. Not a lot to do read some good books. Entertainment like Sunday night television nothing else.

Resort very clean as most hotels are new.
Resort entertainment is mostly in hotels or nearby Monastir 6km or Sousse 13km
Beach is private and very clean very windy for a couple of days went down beach before breakfast seaweed everywhere went back 2 hours later totally clean!
Diving centre excellent, would definitely visit again, we are going back in 3 weeks for a week.

There wasn't a lot to do in the immediate outside area apart from go-carting. That said, there was so much to do at the hotel, horse riding, archery, table tennis, mini golf, mini zoo, films etc. etc. Loads of trips to the desert, different towns etc.
The resort was very clean and the beach was okay considering it was winter and a bit windy at times.
We would definately visit again.

The resort was Skanes and there is absolutely nothing there but Hotels and the Airport.
You need to travel to nearby Monastir or Sousse for anything not in the Hotel complexes.

Difficult to assess, I'm not sure if Skanes is a "resort" as such. Just a road with lots of hotels on it. All the entertainment is hotel based. Nothing is within walking distance, so you would have to get a taxi into Monastir or Sousse. Even to get money - there isn't a bank or cash machine nearby. We knew all this before we went thanks to sites like this with reviews.

The resort was filthy with litter strewn everywhere.
There is nothing outside of the hotel complexes in Skanes.
The beach was littered with debris and the water doen't resemble the Med as I know it. You can't go anywhere without being pestered by the locals.

This was my first time to Tunisia and would highly recommend it . The people are very friendly the weather was great, not too hot and getting about was cheap and easy. The taxi drivers were also very helpfull, especially when trying to buy thibarine. Both Monastir and Sousse are well worth a visit, very quiet this time of year.
I will certainly be coming here again.

The beach is lovely, but thats the only good thing. We would go back to Tunisa, but never to this hotel or this resort - too far away from anything and your captive!

Skanes is quieter than the other resorts but the hotels have lovely private beaches, though you can simply walk along the beach from your hotel all the way down to the other stretches of beach.
The sea is wonderfully clear and teeming with small fish and shells, and the beaches are also quite clean considering.
No real town or shopping area in Skanes though Monastir is only a short taxi ride away and very pretty.
Thoroughly recommend Skanes to all!
