There is a go-cart track. We watched the cup final in a bar that had Sky tv.

The beach was very good. There is just hotels at Skanes - thats all.

The beach is amazing looking, but not 100% clean - there also appeared to be quite a lot of Jelly Fish, so we never ventured into the sea. There are loads of facilities though for watersports, and also plenty of beds.

Skanes is a resort that is dominated by the overflying aircraft, and you can get immune to it after the first few days. Otherwise there is little to do outside the Hotel, but a taxi or train ride to Monastir or Sousse will provide shopping or resturaunt facilities.

The hotel beach staff kept the beach salesmen away and looked after their guests very well indeed.

The sand is carrabean white flour but one has to be careful because horses and camels pass by frequently. The odd security car also drives by. The section by the hotel is kept clean everywhere else is not nice.

A nearby Scuba School and the usual pedalo, wind surfing and jet skis are all around but low key.

Skanes is in a quiet part of bay with views across to Sousse. It is where the March tides bring in masses of sea weed unlike Sousse and beyond where the beaches stay clear.

Noneless when clear the beach is perfect for kids thanks to the gently sloping beach into the sea.

We would not risk going to Skanes again as there is no point taking a beach holiday if you cannot walk the beach or get into the sea.

The beach was being cleaned daily - things were just gearing up for the high season. The beach was lovely and sandy with a safe shallow bay. There were pedaloes and banana boats and parascending although we didn't try any of these, and also camels on the beach.

There is nothing to the resort apart from the hotels, but it is only about 4 miles to Moanstir and 7 to Sousse, so it's easy and cheap to get taxi's or the noddy train. One trip we did go on was to the Wildlife Park and Frigua - this was excellent and highly recommended.

Other than the beach and other hotels, there is nothing in the immediate area. Monastir is the nearest town (about 2 or 3 miles) with a few interesting sights. In town eating is basic and cheap Tunisian (Couscous, soup, briks etc). The marina has some more fancy restaurants we didn't try.

There is not much to do in Skanes. Monastir is close by and so is Sousse and Port El Kantoaui, which offer more. The beach our hotel was on was clean but on going off our area there was alot of washed up debris.

Tunisia is not a place for me, we like to have a walk around shops, bars etc after dinner, there were no shops etc to walk around after dinner and you were advised not to leave the hotel in the evening anyway.

Very quiet, beach very clean, you can go into any hotels and are made very welcome.

Taxis are very cheap to Monastir, Sousse and Port el Kantaoui.

Go out and about to different towns and see a very different way of life.

The only thing I would say about the beach is that when you are on it you get hassled from locals trying to sell things so we were never on the beach.
