There is nothing in the resort except hotels.

Not really a resort so much as a group of hotels. Nothing in walking distance.
Nice to be close to the airport for travel times and the planes going over were not a problem - something to look at whilst lying in the sun.

The resort itself did not contain much apart from hotels. The area was clean and safe. There were security guards to patrol all day and night.

The beach was lovely. There is go carting a short walk from the hotel.

Skanes as a resort was a non starter its not a resort its a place where they built a few hotels along a beach coast line. Sousse is a market town a couple of miles away with a lot of back street shops where you can haggle for a price but you do have your fixed price shops. Monastir is very photogenic with losts of sights both on route to and at one of tunisias main cities. They also have shops where you can haggle and shops that are fixed price. We didn`t find any evening entertainment outside of the hotel. The beach at the hotel was lovely white sand, clean and the sea was clean as well.
One last thing about the resorts and taxis is be careful as some of the traders try to pull you into their shops which I experienced first hand. Also watch the females in your group as some taxi drivers can get a bit touchy, which we experienced but I didn`t see and wasn`t told till the taxi had gone!

The problem was, the hotel was kind of stuck in the middle of no-where resort wise.

When you walked out of the gates there was nothing. we did a few trips to toher places and thankfully the taxis were dirt cheap.

The people are very friendly with the exception of some of the older women who look down at you if you are wearing shorts and vests etc.

The markets are an exprience and can be fun, as long as you dont take offence at them trying to persuade you - it is just the way of life out there.

Every thing we did on this holliday was enjoyable, we just felt that it would have been more fun had we gone to a more central location.

The resort is poorly maintained throughout.

When using the indoor pool a man was cleaning the floor with chemicals and dipping the bucket into the pool to get more water contaminating the pool water - I soon got out!

The resort entertainment was disorganised, shabby and a pathetic attempt. The entertainment staff were useless and didnt know what they were doing.

However the beach was beautiful and easily accessable and the only complaint I have about it is the sellers who hassle you will not take no for an answer.

The hotel made our holiday and we only ventured out of our complex a few times.

The area isn't as dodgy as people make out as long as you have common sense and make sure you haggle everywhere you go.

The country looks very poor but very interesting from a culture point of view. We did 3 excursions, the camel trip, El Jam Roman coliseum and Arabic night and all three were superb and great value for money.

The medina at Sousse is an eye opener and not to be missed. It can feel quite intimidating at first as the locals are in your face but that's part of the culture and the haggling is fun. There's plenty of police around and you'll be quite safe. The crime level is much lower than in the UK and their punishments a good deterrent, especially for crimes against tourists.

If you were told about children begging we saw none at any time during the week.

Don't expect Spain expect Africa and enjoy yourselves, we did and will again next year!

Skanes is just a street with hotels on one side and waste ground on the other.entertainment in our hotel was poor and because of walking problems we could not try other hotels which we were told were ok.the beach was not very clean.this might have been helped if there had been waste bins along the beach but the beach was never cleared by anyone. we would not go back to this resort, and would not recommend it to anyone.

Visited towns near to the hotel - very interesting - taxis very cheap.

Got abit fed up of the shop owners trying to get you into their shops - if you do go in set an amount in your mind to haggle to. Shopping is very cheap.
