We had a brilliant time here in this hotel, don’t listen to other negative comments, beach is great, bars great, if you can’t find something to eat here you are not human, eastern Europeans are just funny, not bad! Locals are nice, but you know they are doing business not stealing. We did tours and they were the best value we ever knew.

We would defiantly go again, bravo.

hi we spent two weeks at this hotel paid well over the top for what it is. so if you go to this hotel expect 2* not 3 the breakfast is awfull the evning meal is good worth the wait. the staff are very friendly the cleanliness is 2* but its is not dirty
the sewear smell is around the grounds but not off puting. the beach is great. the pool is cleanish and ok but we got ear infections we belive from the pool so get some ear plugs for kids. the local tunisian people were very nice and i mean that from the heart.
however be very carefull at the madina there are to many cowboys.to just finish my post is we had a good two week in the sun and had some good nights sat round the pool.i would not vist this hotel or tunisia again. however we met people who were on there 3rd vist so do what we did go open minded have the best holiday you can if you like it great if not don't let it spoil your holiday you tried it now get ready for your next holiday

We went to the Marhaba in Aug and had a FAB time.
This was mine and the childrens first holiday abroad and we couldnt have chosen a better place to have gone.
The staff were extremly friendly and helpful, always smiling and worked hard all day!!!!!
The food was good, we were never bored, the cakes were my favourite.
There was constant entertaining from the animations team with water polo and aqua aerobics and plenty for the kids.

I loved the medina although I can appreciate it can be intimidating to some people, but I loved the banter and the haggling with the tunisians.
My 15yr old daughter was ogled constantly and was unable to go to the beach on her own, but the locals were respectful and never rude/obtrusive.

All in all we had a great holiday and will deffinatley be going back.

Expect to tip approx 1 Dinar (40p) but its no hardship as things are so cheap there it was no big deal.

We spent 1/2 of what we budgeted and did all the activities.
We did the 2 day Sahara Adventure, tiring but well worth it! Not to be missed.
We also did the pirate ships, paragliding, jetskis,African Dream and more, all good value for money, and if you want to save a bit go with the local opperators as this can save you money and you get more time.

I hope your holiday is as enjoyable as ours was.
We will be back there in 2009.

Enjoy!!

Hotel Marhaba is an old hotel. They haven't got any safe's big enough for a laptop or a big camera. The sewage smell (in some places) and the chemicals used by the cleaners was awful. The restaurant didn't switch on the air conditioners although the temperature was over 30 degrees and they didn't even have any fans. The lifts were out of order constantly especially one of them in particular which only worked around three times on our fortnight long stay. The swimming pool was not cleaned properly. The food just ok. You can't expect it to be special. Nobody came to change the toilet light bulb although we reported it for two days. Luckily, this was the end of our holiday. The cleaners also didn't sweep the floor everyday although they changed the bed sheets. The entertainments were a bit boring except the Tunisian folk dancing.

The good points are the location is excellent. The beach was unexpectedly close to the hotel.

We have just returned from the Hotel Marhaba in Sousse.

While the cleanliness and staff were excellent the rooms were very basic and in need of some attention. All carpets were in very bad condition.

This hotel was not good for me due to the fact I have a severe back and hip condition. Although there was a lift to all floors it was extremely difficult to get to the dining room as it was on the lower floor with two flights of stairs.

The pools and beach were also difficult to reach due to very uneven and steep paths. The entertainment was dreadful to the point of being embarrasing.

All staff were very curteous and friendly and rooms were kept very clean but I really would'nt recommend this hotel to anyone.

This is the 4th time we have stayed in this hotel and we would go back again.

Last year when we were here the excellent entertainment team were sacked and really spolied our holiday. This time the new, not very expereinced and lazy team we had were also sacked. However, I must say by the time we left the new team were a sucess.

The cleanliness is fine overall but the carpets in the hallways really need replaced.

The quality of the food here is great however the selection of variety was poor. We did complain this year about the food because we were tired of seeing the same selection for breakfast every day. We knew the head waiter from previous holidays and he was fabulous, he told us anything at all we would like for breakfast he will do his best to get it for us and sure enough the next morning we had scrambeled egg on toast brought to our table. We love the location of this hotel.

You can easily walk into the centre of Sousse and with a very short taxi ride (about

We booked this package holiday very cheaply 180 pound each. So we were expecting the worst. I am pleased to say that all in all this a good hotel.

The rooms are basic, but very clean with loads of storage space. Maid services everyday. The hotel corridors are a bit shabby and let the hotel down a bit, but honestly, how long do you spend in a hotel corridor?

The entertainment was basic just an annimation team of four lively young men, who I must say were friendly to all and tried to get everyone invloved if they wanted to be. The food was hit and miss although you could always find a decent meal amongst what was on offer.

Look out for the omlette and pasta chef, who we ate from most days. Also makes lovely pancakes for breakfast every morning if wanted. The pool area was nice, but the pool was freezing, really got the blood pumping.

The hotel lounges and bars were really nice with very friendly staff. (If you buy the head barman a Boukha he's your friend for life.) All in all this hotel is great value for money. Sunbeds are a 40p a day and the safety deposit box was very cheap too. 40p a day.

You do have to put up a deposit but you get this back with no hassle. Oh and the hotel gardens are massive and lovely to walk through.

Just a 10 min walk through the gardens and your on the beach.

We have just returned after a two week stay over Xmas and I have to say everything was fab!

We loved all the food there was always a lot of choice and always displayed well and hot, you could even swap to lunch instead of evening so you could eat out in the evenings, which we did a few times.

The staff were excellent always there if you needed them helpful in everyway possible, and we didn't tip until the end so its not just so they get tips!!

The hotel itself is very grand in the reception area, the rooms are large with loads of storage, and beautiful views of the pool and sea. They were cleaned everyday and linen changed 3 times during the 2 weeks and towels changed everyday, which did have a sort of strange smell to them but perhaps they don't use Lenor!!!

Some areas in the corridors, the carpets are a little mucky, but hey, you only walk through them and hotels don't generally have carpets in corridors!!

The entertainment was okish...but we went to Tour Khalef a lot as its part of the complex and we had friends staying there.

The Xmas gala dinner was the best, 7 courses, all lovely, we left on New years Eve so missed that one which we were totally gutted about, but we have already booked to go next Xmas and New Year as its so good value for money, but if you want 5* then pay for 5*!!! Instead of paying for 3* and expecting 5* then slagging it off when you return home!!

We would definetely recommend this hotel, we love it !!!!

Very agressive guests at this hotel, not British I might add. Lots of single girls looking for men. Not nice when you have young children. Won't be visiting here ever again.
