Location
The hotel was generaly clean and tidy but the rooms were very basic and not very clean.
The cleaners dont do much cleaning as far I could see and the towels stank of sweat and damp everyday Im sure they just swapped them between rooms.
The food was lovely though and we enjoyed every meal, but the choice for the children was very limited and we had to suppliment their diet with crisps from the local shop.
We also had a bag stolen from the pool side so be on the lookout and dont leave bags unattended even for a minute....You dont want to go through the police station farce I had to go through just to get a report reference for the insurance.
Over all we did enjoy our stay here but have stayed in a lot better three star Hotels than this. And we would highly recommend the two day sahara safari.

Please for the good of your health and sanity, do NOT say here. We managed 1 night and got out as fast as we could.
The rooms are dirty and stunk of damp, the air-con didn't work in two of the four rooms we were offered. I would bet that the towels were the same ones the previous guests used. The coridors were dirty and (until we asked) unlit and with the lift not working the stairs were dangerous.
The hotel staff were rude and unhelpful and didn't care about anything and on more than one occasion 'couldn't' speak English, and would then chat to the next guest in English happily.
Be aware that we also has some childrens plastic sandles stolen from by the pool.
Finally, take great care with the balcony light, the bulb was dead so I thought I'd change it as reception didn't understand. The bulb was held to the wall with two bare wires!
Not a bad list for a stay of less than 20 hours!

We found the cleanliness of the rooms not too good this time. The towles were smelly (DAMP!!) and the bathroom rarely cleaned. However, the food as always was brilliant. And the staff cannot be faulted always friendly and chatty.
The location is great, a small shop at the hotel entrance is great for those midnight snacks. The entertainment team changed while we were there and both our party and many other guest were very annoyed and disheartned with both attempts at Sams Team's replacement. Sam's team were very friendly, smiley, great with kids and put a good show on. It was a shame to see them go.
I hope the hotel can get it's act together because by the time we left there had been petitions and complaints put to the management due to the changes that were made. Despite this we had a great holiday and we would go back in hope some changes had been made. And the lifs should be working!!!!

Tunisians are very driven by tips so have change on you at all times. going out side the hotel down the road you will find loads and loads of taxis, bargain before you get in - but its so cheap anyway.
The hotel itself is right on the beach, as we went in march it was a bit cold but I would imagine in the summer it being very hot.
Although I have been to Tunisia and Sousse now, I would not return only because there is alot more of the world to see, not putting Tunis down but been there done it!
Also do the 2 day Ttunis tour to El Jem and where star wars was filmed, it was the highlight of our holiday.

Our room was clean. The food was good and the staff friendly.
Unles you want to buy a carpet dont agree to on any free trips to a carpet factory. The general atmoshere was very good we would be happy to go again.

The hotel food was pretty average and generally all the staff okay except the cleaners (the first week of our 2 weeks stay the cleaners never showed up until 3pm on average but the second week things improved). The rooms were cleaned to an average standard.
The entertainment was absolute rubbish unless you liked the boom! boom! type music. I asked the team for a change of music as most of us "oldies" didn't like it but there was no change.
Also there are no lifts in the hotel, but they were building the lift shafts (2)whilst we were there. So there is plans for a badly needed lift system in the hotel.
So if you are in a wheelchair or on walking sticks don't go there.

The towels stank of damp and the carpets were unhoovered and also smelt.
All other staff were wonderful though, especially our waiter but the bad outweighed the good.
This hotel does not deserve a 3* rating, the Brits i spoke to there were bitterly disappointed with the hotel and I would advise people not to stay here.

We had some trouble with the male staff such as those on reception and in the restaurant as we had two 17 year old daughters travelling with us! They were persistent in calling the girls room and asking them to meet them after there shift for a 'drink'. I answered the phone one evening knowing it would have been one of them, when they realised it was a male voice who had answered, they put the phone down!! That to me does not seem very professional and as a father I was not happy about this!!
But on the whole I did enjoy my stay at the Marhaba Hotel and would recommend it due to its clean pool and excellent food in the restaurant !
P.s During our stay you were offered a free trip for a tour to see how carpets are made and how leather is made. However by accepting the trip me and my family and friends were brought into a carpet shop where for half an hour we were shown about one hundred carpets and the tour was actually a ploy to try and sell us tourists one of there expensive carpets. If you ever experience this you are best just walking out of the so called 'presentation' or else you will be there for hours on end.
I do not recommend this tour!!

The hotel entrance is beautiful, with a marble staircase and a pleasant sitting area. My boyfriend and I stayed on the third floor, this did prove to be some what tiring, but in the long term, proved to be good exercise.
I would not recommend this hotel if you do not like walking as there are quite alot of stairs. I have to disagree with other reviews about the cleanliness of this hotel, towels were changed regularly, our beds were made everyday and the room was swept and mopped.
The food was fantastic and I recommend that if you stay at this hotel you go half board, you get a superb breakfast and a good evening meal, we had no complaints about the food, and the buffey is all you can eat!!!
Entertainment is aimed mainly towards children and family's, mainly based around the pool, we did not really stay in the hotel at night, but I did hear the shows put on were enjoyable.
The hotel staff which are all men are very flirty with girls, If not two flirty, I had the odd wink, and some men asked to meet me after their shift when my boyfriends back was turned. The staff will expect a tip, but this is not a great deal.
