Sousse is a busy city. You are spoilt for choice with restaurants. The people are really friendly. A week was far too short, as I did a number of excursions. However, I liked the feel of the city, and will be back.

we only got back from skanes yesterday, the local area is quite dusty and derilict, there are places to visit if you are prepared to travel for about 40 mins to an hour, and the excursions are very good value for money. the beach was very good and clean with lots of watersports and para sailing on offer at very good prices. i would visit skanes again, but this time i will take a few trips into sousse as it looks slightly better, with more on offer

Sousse is just outside Port el Kantouie and is a short distance on the tuk tuks or little train (cost about 2 dinars each). There is a lovely walk along the sea-front to the city centre and is a lovely location, although there is not much to do outside the hotel. The beaches are lovely and the sea is warmer than the hotel pool.

I would not visit this resort again as there are still many other places to visit in the world. Also we got fed up with all the hassling.

not alot to do in sousse, but you can visit port el kantoui, it is a beatiful place to visit, room was cleaned daily, with fresh linen and towels included, entertainment was a bit odd, same people day and night, beach is gorgeous and i would definately go back, i was very apprehensive about going here mainly because of reading oher peoples reviews, my family were very well looked after,i would recommend a stay here.

We'd been to Sousse before so knew what to expect. However the level of pestering has grown to such an extent at the Medina that it was an unpleasant experience. We were forewarned it was not overly safe either at times.

We didn't go into Sousse in the evening so can't comment on entertainment there. But from the nocturnal noise generated it sounded fine for clubbers. The beach (as in other parts of Tunisia) was good but very crowded, hence difficult to find a space on.

Sousse is nice but beware if you are females alone you will be really hassled. Shop owners will try anything to get you in their shops.

Sousse has a fanastic medina and rabat and lots of history. It is also close to Port El Kantoui, a purpose built modern marina with shops, small zoo, small fun fair and lots of restaurants. Trains go to Tunis and Monastir as well as many other places. Beach is sandy and prety clean but the waste does build up overnight although cleaned daily. The majority of rubbish is tourist's fag butts which do spoil the sand.

Flew out at Sunday 9am 30th August 05.50 arrived at Monastir at 8.40am make sure you fill in your visa before you get to passport control as it is a lot easier, changed some money before we got our transfer with Med Hotels which I would not do again not as straight forward as stated anyway we finally got to Royal Beach beaches are beautiful and very clean walked into Sousse were hassled all the way by shopkeepers but a polite no sufficed nice place the Medina looks great just never went in,we went into Monastir one day got the local bus and then the metro only cost 5 Dinar for both of us got some lovely photo's of Bourgiba Mausoleum really nice place well worth a visit we were planning on going on more trips but it was too hot did get the Wally Trolly to PEK wasn't impressed but were told it was better at night when the fountain was all lit up so we came back a week later by taxi only 4 dinar and it is worth a visit lovely when it lights up to the music and they have amusement rides an arcade with all sorts of game machines the water park and a zoo if you can call it that there are a couple of Camels a couple of Kiwi's and a couple of Ostriches plus quite a few variety's of birds we came back on the TukTuk which is an experience.we started going to the Hotel Marabout next door after a couple of nights lovely hotel and they did have some entertainment, which repeats every week,we found the few bars they have there Legends The Rose and Crown and the Saloon I can give direction if anyone wants them, the Saloon we went twice the first time we were charged 8 dinar the second time they charged us 10 dinar I know its not a lot but didn't want to see what they would charge the third time, first time I have ever come across the prices in hotels being cheaper than in the bars, all in all Tunisia is a beautiful place if you are just interested in a beach holiday we spent a lot of time on the beach lovely water and warm,as the nightlife is non existant the selection of beers was limited to the local beer Celtia Heineken Becks Lowernbrau and Golden Brau shorts were very expensive and the measures were very small we drink Bacardi the cheapest we found was 5 dinar the dearest 7.5 dinar Whisk'y a lot dearer an example of the dearest Jack Daniels was 12 dinar a shot,a lot of people were complaining about having to pay 2 dinar for a sunbed even at your hotel as well as on the beach don't know if this was only the beach front hotels or wether it is all of them, and it is not true you get the same exchange rate everywhere our hotel was only giving 202.5 dinar to the pound but at the Marabout they had an exchange rate board and the rate was 218.5 which we got I asked in our hotel a couple of days later and it was the same but the Marabout had 214.5 which we got so I would check around,we did find a couple of supermarkets that sold alcohol but the areas were sealed off and wouldn't serve us any,on the Wednesday before we came home we had a thunderstorm and torrential downpour overnight the next time we went down to the beach it was covered in rubbish I can only imagine the tunisians use the water run off gully's as rubbish tips it would be the only thing that would explain it,the weather went cooler after that right until we came home, one thig we did notice is that the shops at the airport are cheaper than those in the resorts if anyone has any questions I would be happy to answer them if I can.
P.S. I f anyone offers you anything for free just keep saying no no no there is nothing for free in Tunisia

The beach is kepted to a very high standard and the water is clear and warm. (Don't forget the buckets and spades, blow up toys and most important piles of SUNTAN LOTION as they are VERY expensive in Tunisia)

We decide on one trip out,the light and laser show, excellent if you haven't been to Tunisia before. The laser show gave the history of the country,a wedding feast( we were F.T.B),belly dancing, fire eating etc.
