The resort is very clean, considering the amount of visitors. If you smoke just try timing how long before your ashtray is emptied, you will be amazed. In the main centre of Alanya there is a good choice of entertainment, but we prefer the quite life, so where we stayed was a good choice. If you want to go to town centre a night, the last courtesy bus to Grand Kaptan from centre is 11.45pm. There are still plenty of other buses though. The beach is clean, but if you have children it is not for making sandcastles, is it more little pebbles and fine sand. I would go back to Alanya the people are wonderful and friendly.

the resort is buzzing at night around the bazars full of colours and charisma. The sea is nice and cool and the beaches not overcrowded and clean

I would definately revisit the hotel and in fact I am revisiting the hotel in 2006.
The water slides and the gigantic pool are unbelievably brilliant I have never seen such a big pool in my life!!!
The slides are great for the kids and are not slippery and dangerous they are really quite safe as there is a lifeguard sat there watching.
Enjoy your holiday!!! its lovely in Grand Kaptan

Alanya is a beautiful town with a lovely castle overlooking the harbour. There are many shops and a great Bazaar for you to get great bargains. There are many places to visit such as the River Dimcay where you can eat whilst sitting in the River.Manavgat is a really nice place with a lovely Waterfall and a market once a week.
Across the road from the GRand Kaptan Hotel is A great friendly bar called the Blue Parrot Cafe Bar which is run by Serdar and Hakan 2 really friendly local Turkish guys. The bar is open early morning till late at night and you can get some great food there(burgers, pizza, steaks or traditonal Turkish food such as shish kebebs, donner kebabs or Ottoman Pan)The staff in the bar love to have a laugh and a joke with the customers and you can make some great friends with other holiday makers from all over the place. They also serve great Carte d'or ice creams and lovely Cappacino's with cream on top.If you are in the area pay the bar a visit and maybe try a cocktail.

i have visited marmaris several times (and love it)and calis, second favourite. i would return to both resorts without hesitation but i found alanya full of restaurants, not bars. my daughter who was 16 at the time found it really difficult as she was used to marmaris and able to just sit in bars listening to music. she didn't want to eat so there wasn't much for her and her boyfriend to do. lots of germans here too. i found it much more expensive in the markets than any of the other resorts.
The resort of Alanya itself is very pleasant. The beaches were of a reasonable standard and most of the Turkish people will go out of their way to be friendly. We may visit the resort again in a few years time on a self catering basis.
