Mitos hotel as been the best we had clean rooms an the food is beautiful, most restaurants in Oba are quality food never had a bad meal yet in 4 years also check out the moonlight restaurant bar friendly family great food :)

The resort is typically Turkish with nothing outstanding. You have your normal supermarket, jewellers, clothing shops etc. There did not appear to be a lot of entertainment around the area we were at but to be fair we only used the Irish pub at the back of the hotel as we did not have far to walk in the heat both at night and the day when out at shops or the market as it is really warm.
The beach was clean but the sea is rough, not good for kiddies on their own but good for the big kids & adults who like some rough and tumble as the waves toss you around when the sea is rough, they can almost knock over an adult but if you are prepared it can be good fun but be careful as it slopes quickly.
There is a small pier that you can sometimes sunbathe on and can enter the water away from the breaking waves there also, the water is clear.
We would visit this resort again.

Alanya is just being built up and there were two bars around us, Paddys bar which was great but would definately not go back there as we asked for children entertainment with 6 children going but there was nothing, it was boring.

The centre of Alanya is very busy with an abundance of restaurants and bars for all tastes.
Shopping is a must with the bazaar area in the centre as well.
The harbour is beautiful especially at night worth a trip. Also the new water park is a great day out but eat before you enter as NO food or drink is aloud in the park your are searched before you enter and food and drink taken off you till you leave. But the prices are not to bad in the park itself.The is not to many English holiday maker there but the locals do say that there is getting to be more and more every year. The castle is well worth the trip up there but get a taxi up and walk down much easier on the legs. The beaches are very busy so get there early is the best.

Resort clean. Entertainment poor.
Beach very nice with plenty of loungers for sunbathing.

I would defnitely visit Alanya again, infact, will probably go again this coming May!
The people there are so friendly and can't do enough for you. They can be a bit much at times, but it's something you get used to, thats just Turkey!
I went with 9 other women between the ages of 21 and mid fifties and everyone of them had a grat time, so it's great for all ages.
I found the beach great as we tended to stick to beach no 1, and the beach boys there were lovely, verry funny, kept us entertained whilst we topped up our tans.
Theres some good nightlife too. The harbour has all the big nightclubs, but we tended to stay quite close to our hotel, where there were such bars as London underground and bistro hawaii (a restaurant, but we just went in there for drinks, really nice cocktails!!)
All in all i didn't know what to expect from Turkey as i never really fancied it before, but now i've been to Alanya i can honestly say one of the best holidays i've had, great fun!!

The beach standard wasn't great but it was very nice to take the 10 min walk and look at the tiny sea turtles on the beach. As for the Turkish bath it was a great way to end your day. Please don't write off this hotel. I would say don't go for 2 weeks but 1 week is just perfect. 10/10. Can't wait to get back October 2006!

I stayed here for the first time in 1998 & found very few Brits here, mainly Russians & Swedes. Although the beach was large & clean the waves were too fierce to go in the sea & the beach was shingles. HOWEVER, for me the redeeming feature was the trek up to the castle area every day, it was amazing.

Although the centre of Alanya is OK with reasonable shopping & restaurants, where the Grand Kaptan is situated is not at all pretty. The exception is the beach which can be reached by an underpass from the hotel pool area. However the sand is pebbly & there is some driftwood & rubbish along the coast line - not like Bournemouth where the beaches are excellent & clean.
I would not go again, not because of the hotel, but because of the location, there are much prettier resorts in Turkey e.g. Side, Oliz Denez & Icimeler.
One final comment - the travel company First Choice did not tell us that the flight was via Gatwick so the journey time was approx. 6 hours not the 4.25 advertised ... beware!

The resort is minging and dirty, there was no entertainment.
The beach was nice.
Would not visit this resort again.
