This resort is very clean but there was a lot of building work going on. The entertainment is quite good but we didnt use the resort entertainment very much.
The beach was excellent the hotel acctually had it own private part to the beach which you could get to from the hotel through a garden under the main road.
The beach had a nice breeze but the sea was sometimes rough.
i would visit the resort again

Alanya is a very big bustling town and is very clean.
All the pubs and clubs are very eager to please and have something going on every night. But if you want peace and quiet go to the Blue Parrot where you will find the owner (Jack) is very kind and polite to you.
The beaches are kept very clean and we will be going back to this resort again.

A very large town spread along the beachfront so in our week we probably saw very little.
There are numerous restaurants with a fair range of foods, although all the ones we visited had similiar food.
The beach was large and clean with buckets behind the sunbeds for rubbish. The sunbed hire was the cheapest we have had in Europe.
During the time we were there, there was on onshore breeze which created some waves. getting into the sea was tricky due not only to the waves but the pebbles. the sea does get deep quickly.
The whole resort is far busier than we would normally visit although the chidlren did not complain about Macdonalds.

Alanya, what can I say? We've holidayed in Turkey for the past four years, Gumbet, and we'd thought Alanya would be a nice change. How wrong we were!!!!!!!
Everything, and I mean everything, is marked in Euros, and, because we'd only brought lira with us were were constantly ripped off. No one was willing to haggle at all, and in the market in Alanya one stall holder became aggressive and abusive because I wouldn't try any turkish delight.
There are plenty of clubs, pubs, restaurants and shops, mainly selling clothes and jewellery, especially around the harbour, again, selling everything in Euros. We bought 2 tracksuits, a shirt and three tee shirts for £282....definately no haggling.
The main market in Alanya in on a Friday, but unless you want to stock up on fruit, veggies and nuts don't bother because that's all they sell. Look out for the market about 10 mins walk away from the hotel, they sell all the usual stuff there, jewellery, clothing, etc. Yet again though we were ripped off, which, unfortunatly we weren't able to do anything about because I'd broke one of their tea sets!!!! 5 boxes of turkish delight, 2 small tea sets and 1 large tea set - cost £75!!!!!!
Hubby wanted a tattoo done, we went to one shop and they quoted us £64, we went into another shop and they quoted us £180 for exactly the same tattoo. When we told them we'd leave it because we'd got a cheaper quote they lowered the price to £64. There were four German teenagers in there while my husband was getting his tattoo done, they all paid £200 or above for theirs.
The area, and the Grand Kaptan hotel, is predominately German and Dutch, hence everything being marked up in Euros, the shop keepers and market stall holders didn't seem particularly keen on English, although some were really friendly......about 10 mins walk from the hotel there's a post office, we bought our telephone cards from there, and the guy inside told us that until 5 or 6 years ago there used to be lots of Brits, then they suddenly died off.....hmmmm, I wonder why!!!!

Alanya is a well balanced resort for all the family to enjoy.
There is lots to fill the days & nights!!
Try Maren Beach bar for the best cocktails you will have ever tried!
All excursions tried from the resort were excellent value for money.
Cafe Hello & Royal Beach restaurants are a must visit venue. No-one leaves hungry!!! Book now you won't be disappointed!

The beach was all shingle no sand unless you went all the way down past Alanya towards Kleopatra beach. There is plenty to do on the beach. Jet-ski, parasailing and banana boats were also available. It wasn't too clean though.
I wouldn't visit Alanya again.
