Location
Food was terrible! Extremely limited selection, in short supply and not very hot. Dinner was served 7pm till 9pm and if you weren't there at 7pm you could expect to get the scraps as once it was gone it was gone! Regardless if half the hotel was still to eat. Unless you took your dessert when you arrived or ate at super speed most of the desserts would be gone too. Either most of the other guests were greedy or the hotel just didn't supply enough to cater for the amount of guests. Baring in mind that April is low season and the hotel wasn't busy this wasn't acceptable. The restaurant comprised of long tables, fine if you were in a group but not good if you were a couple and wanted some privacy. The restaurant was more like a school canteen.
Nice location and lots to do in surrounding area. Beach on other side a short bus ride much better.

Having stayed in Turkey several times, from bed and breakfast to all inclusive. We found some of the food bland and not presented very well. Some days it was burnt. The restaurant was very busy and noisy, place settings where hard to find if you didn't go to first sitting.
There's a busy dual carriage way which is the main road leading out of Alanya to airport a hundred yard in front of hotel. If you have a room at the front of the hotel you may find it's noisy. Although the hotel rooms are double glazed. Building work is also in progress as they are building another hotel to the side of the Eftalya, this isn't really noisy as there were no drills or heavy machinery.
The hotel staff are polite and friendly enough, but it is hard to explain what you want because their knowledge of English is not very good and my knowledge of Turkish is nil.
Entertainment is geared to children and their are no places that are for adults only. i.e bars or night clubs. I'm not against children but mine are grown up and I feel that there should be a place in the hotel for adults only.

The hotel was always clean, rooms were cleaned every day and the restaurant was always clean and bars were clean. the food was nice, although not much choice for vegetarians.
The location was nice although in the middle of nowhere, it was easy enough to go to Alanya or other places via bus at small cost.
Hotel staff were friendly, although they didn't speak much English but they were trying. Entertainment was very good the shows varying every night for 2 weeks and involving the audience.
However I would say more English could be spoken.

After a long wait we eventually got our rooms - the last one at 5am. When we went down to breakfast at 10 a.m. everything was gone. The table cloths were absolutely disgusting and nobody seemed to change them or clean in the food area. At lunch time all 16 of us went for lunch and nobody eat as the food was luke warm, sloppy, dripping in grease and of course all the areas by the food were dirty.
We went to the welcome meeting and voiced our concerns, so our rep told us to fill out a complaints form and to give it the benefit of the doubt until the following day. As we told her we thought we had come to a 4 star hotel but in our eyes 2 stars was more appropriate.
We then tried to get a sun bed by the pool, which was mission impossible. The men in our party went for a wander to the beach which they said was very dirty. When they got back we had managed to get a few sun beds but no where near enough for what we wanted but when you are in a hotel that has a thousand guests staying (only 46 British guests)you are asking the impossible.
At night we attempted to eat again but it was horrible, nothing was labelled and all very sloppy again. We then grabbed a table and got some drinks but these were very limited to what you could have, mostly wine or lager.
The next morning our friends were up first, so they attempted breakfast - again the table cloths were still unchanged and they could not bring themselves to eat. They pulled a cloth off of the table and tried to explain to the restaurant manager that they were not happy, but he seemed to think it was ok. Our friend, by now in tears, then went to reception and asked them to ring the Thomas Cook customer helpline and demanded that someone come to our hotel straight away, which she was assured would happen. Fair play our rep turned up within 15 minutes. She agreed that the cleanliness was not up to scratch, spoke to the hotel's manager and he said they would sort it out by 1 o'clock.
In the meantime the rest of us were up, so we made our way to the small pool to the front of the hotel. This was dirty, there was glasses from the night before under the sun beds and nobody had cleaned the area around the pool. We pointed this out to our rep and she told the manager but he just shrugged. She said she would be back at 1 o'clock to see us and to make sure improvements had been made.
They then started to clean the units in the restaurant, wiping underneath them, which was obviously dirty and then using the same cloth to wipe the top of the units.
At 1 o'clock our rep returned and we told her we were not happy to stay and we would rather fly home. She had a look around the restaurant and agreed that the improvements had not been made and as we explained we were not happy to stay there for 2 weeks with 8 children in the extreme heat not eating properly and it being dirty we were afraid what they might pick up. She then spoke to her boss and they agreed that they would move us. The women from each family were put into a taxi to view an alternative hotel in Alanya, which Thomas Cook paid for, to see what we thought.
It was a palace compared to the Eftalia. We got back to the Eftalia and were met by our rep, she said we had an hour to pack our things then they laid on a coach to take us to our new hotel.
We would definitely not go to this hotel again and would not recommend it.

Food was available from 7:30 until after midnight. The choice from the cold buffet was vast at all meal times, whilst the hot food was reasonable although it consisted of mainly chicken. On the whole I thought all were catered for adequately. Bottled water was provided in each room's minibar, and replenished daily without cost.
The entertainment, what we saw of it, was not impressive, although all the children appeared to enjoy themselves. However with free alcohol available for the adults, who cared? The waiting and bar staff were friendly and attentative. I was impressed by the staff members who took away samples of the water from the four pools on a daily basis. All pools were cleaned daily.
The hotel is somewhat isolated. However there is a regular bus service into Alanaya which cost a little over a euro each trip where there are lots of restaurants, shops, banks etc.
Konakli itself has a large shopping area but with mainly 'tourist' shops all competing for your business. There is a fitness centre which was adequately equipped, together with a sauna and Turkish massage emporium. Another hotel is nearing completion between the Eftalya Resort Hotel and its 'private' beach which is a bit of a pain as a detour was necessary to get the the beach facilities - restaurant, bar, volleyball court and sun-loungers under canopies.
All in all we enjoyed our week here and wouldn't hesitate to go back again.

Must say that hotel was always clean. Rooms were always immaculate, clean towels every day.
As far as location is concerned, afraid that if possible, would give it nil. We didn't even have a main road. A hotel was being built in front... building site on the beach.
The staff tried really hard, but would have coped better if more English was spoken. Although we have to say that once they got used to you, the bar staff knew your drinks before you got to the bar.
The entertainment left a lot to be desired and appeared to cater only for German guests, which there were an awful lot of (predominently 95% of the guests.
Was a bit disappointed to be honest, but have to say that has not put us off trying Turkey again...but next time will try something a bit more commercialised.

After the first day we couldnt wait for the holiday to finish. The food is totally geared up to the Germans and the Dutch. On our first day we had the same food at lunch and at the evening meal. And that pattern pretty much followed for the rest of the week.
One morning we had to wait 15 minutes for clean tea cups and i ended up drinking my coffee out of a soup bowl.
Entertainment was disgusting to say the least, we had football match on large screen on the stage one night and the eurovision song contest on another night, I could have stayed at home and watched them on the telly.
Daytime activities were rubbish, board advertised what was on but half the time the activity never took place. My 12 year old daughter was looking forward to playing shuffle board but it was never announced in the whole week we were there.
To get to the beach you had to walk on a dirt track that was wet and muddy from the construction vehicles of the hotel that is being built in front of the Eftalia.
We will never go back there again and I advise any people from the UK that have booked this hotel to cut your losses and cancel.

The location was 3 or 4 minutes from a dirty beach via a building site trackway. Konakli in general is a poor excuse for a resort with no bars to frequent when you get sick of the entertainments team shouting mini disco and show time through the night. Still waiting for the show time, abysmal and mostly for the German audience.
Pool area was quite nice but spoilt by the continuous noise of the work and dust from a new hotel and probably the most damaging was the continuous welding which was never screened and caused my eyes some problems.
The staff were friendly although not enough spoke good English.
Not enough toilet facilities and only one bar working on a night, also the lifts did not stop at the floor level so caused a couple of trips from various guests.

Staff were kind-especially entertainment staff(not all of them though). Had problems with one of the waiters who threatened my daughter due to lack of undertanding -could not speak English very well.
They did try and accomodate for the English after many complaints about the favouritism towards the Germans! Kids enjoyed the mini disco and the slides. Not much to do though !
Food was nice -though others complained!
I felt safe especially as I had small kids with me

The cleaning and organisation of the staff was brilliant and they were all so friendly. Was a shame about the building being built out the back of the hotel, which will eventually obscure sea views - we had a lovely room over looking the sea and the sun set every night.
The food was lovely, especially their selection of salads! Might not be so good for fussy eaters though and not really much simple bland food such as burgers and chips etc... but suited us perfectly.
Went on one of the organised trips too, which I thoroughly recommend doing; we went to Perges and Asbendos.
Only real complaint is the entertainment group, who were so LOUD - they started at 10am and in the evening there was no escape from them! Not even our own room, which was above their stage... and if you sat inside the hotel, there was a dizzying mix of the reception music with the entertainment, which was no fun!
However, all in all, it's a lovely resort and perfect for going to forget about it all, being looked after and having a relaxing holiday, with the option of going out to explore the surrounding area.
