Take loads of suntan lotion it is unbelievably hot plus a travel kettle if you like drinks in the room. The hairdryer in the room works well and theres no need to take your own.
In all we enjoyed the week but unlike Club Voyage in Turkey where we return every year, don't think we'd want to return to Palm Wings. Hope you find this useful!

meal times were nice when we got to eat outside for the first 2 days, but as more guests arrived food was served in the big pnorama restaurant which was fine but flies seemed to swarm in and were all over the food which made you want to eat first to ensure the food wasnt covered in fly bits.
the staff were mega friendly however the turkish holiday makers there did tend to get preferencial treatment. the waiters would be bringing bread and wine to their table whilst you struggle to even get them to bring you some cutlery..
the pool is MASSIVE but the surrounding areas for loungers isnt. it seems crammed in comparrison to the total hugeness of the pool.
the hotel is in a really nice area, youre just a short walk to a supermarket and other bars if you like it a bit rowdier, dolphin square in altinkum is 15lira in a taxi away, kinda like blackpool but without the charm! the way to get around the area is by dolmus. they are every 15 mins or so and run all day till late at night, its 1lira 25 for the fare wich is roughly 50p? so its really cheap to use to go up to temple of apollo which i recommend and to go to the pazar market in didim on saturdays but prepare to get hassled!!
the entertainment team were very enthusiastic and the kids seemed to love it. the outside amphitheatre is cool but mega loud whilst the entertainment is on and sad for you if, like us, you want an early night before you leave in the middle of the night for your transfer to the airport. we were quite close to this though so you might be ok if youre further away..
all in all we had a fantastic week, i'm really nitpicking here and it really was jsut finding its feet. we were offered a free week next year all inclusive for being the first ever guests and we'll really look forward to this! just need to find some cheap flights :)
overall i'd give this hotel 9/10 when its up and running fine, highly recommended.

Once completed Palm Wings will be lovely but at present families will struggle to entertain teenagers on site, this was also echoed by a number of guests on our stay. But for those who are happy to lay around the pool its fine. The pool is huge, but did get cramped for sunbed space as more guests arrived. As we left the internet cafe and gym were just being completed and the spa was up and running (fantastic turkish bath, well worth a visit ). The only place to eat on site was the main dining room.
The food was as usual for an all inclusive nothing special, but the flies were annoying in the dining room. 1 fly killer was placed on a table near the door after a couple of days, so maybe this is something they are looking in to.
Over all Palm Wings was full of lovely people, great value for money at the current prices and will be fantastic !

Only things lacking at present is the number of toliets in the public area and better lighting and safety rails on some of the stair or tiered area's. Pool side can be slippy but more than enough seating and parasoles. We never used it ourselves as we prefered the beach which was fantastic - however at this time it would be difficult to access this if you had a mobility problem or very young children as lots of steep steps and no ramps going all the way down - yet!!
Entertainment seems to be of the continental variety - lots of europoppy songs for the kids club and some strange but funny games for the adults - close enough to walk to the nearby strip if you want or rooms have nice balconies if you want to relax and read. TV only had one english channel although later should be six. No tea making facilities - just to warn you.
Some communication problem with staff and felt especially the security and recption staff should have had at least passable english.
Food was fresh, plentiful and varied and was superb. Unfortunalty many of us brits had no manners and it is always nice to acknowledge good service and the staff really appreciated it. Yes there are some teething troubles but mostly minor and will not spoil your time at this resort.
We would have booked to come back before we left if we could have.

The hotel was very nice, yes, a few minor problems that were sorted out quickly (well, we ended up getting our curtains on the last night, but had nets up so that didn't really matter)! The problems and incompleteness of some things no way ruined our holiday, it's just making us look forward to our holiday all the more next year.
The staff were really friendly, couldn't do enough to help you out and loved the kids. The Turkish Baths opened on 5th July, my husband and I would highly recommend using this, yes, you may pay a little more than if you were to go outside of the hotel for any of the treatments, but it is definitely worth it, and they do offer you discounts for repeat visits down there.
My husband used the gym whilst we were there and thought us was brilliant. i had problems trying to get my daughter out of the swimming pool!! She loved the slides, except the blue one, that was a little rough, maybe needs some sanding down. The pool was thought out very well, although it didn't have depth markers on.
We couldn't fault the food that was there, it was first class and the service was great too, look out for Yusaf in the restaurant, he's one of the managers in there, say hello from Jemma!! He went totally out of his way to help, on our last day we were being picked up at 13:00 and lunch starts at 12:30, so we just had time to grab something to eat, because Bodrum Airport is so expensive. Anyway, our 15 month old son had fallen asleep, well, Yusaf found us a couple of tin foil dishes and gave us something to wrap them in so we could take some food for him to eat on the journey to the airport, which I thought was really kind of him to do. The only thing I would say is that there wasn't a specific kids menu, but if your kids are anything like mine and eat pretty much anything, then there's something for them at each meal and the snack, ice cream and cookies and cake times during the day!!
The evening entertainment was good, and yes, if you're not on the ball you get dragged up, I know, I was up a couple of times!! The mini disco was good, my daughter is still going round singing the spanish song and doing all the actions!! The mini club opened a few days into our holiday, our daughter went a few times and really enjoyed herself. The play park that is next to the mini club is really good, although the best time is in the evening when the sand has cooled down.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone, the longer we were there, the more things became available. Can't wait for next year, not looked at flights yet, but I'm sure I'll find some bargin!!
