Just returned from Palm Wings. Overall we had a nice week but I agree with other reviews that this is not yet of 5 star category. The rooms were large but the second room contained pull out sofa beds opposed to a 2nd bedroom (a tip if you're going here. Someone we met had a tantrum and cried at reception and ended up in one of the very select sea view rooms) - however, most rooms have a garden view which is very pleasant. The Turkish and Russian guests take precedence at all times and this can be quite frustrating for us queue abiding British folk! Both at the bars and in the restaurants they are served and looked after much better. Outside each night the chef grills fresh fish and meats and this is what we went for most nights. We found the entertainment dire. My children are too old for mini clubs and most of the entertainment was geared towards the younger guests. The ampitheatre had something on each night but it was of very poor quality! Perhaps as time goes by this will improve. Most families sat round pool area after evening meal playing cards then retired relatively early to their rooms. Decking on the jetty area has to be seen to be believed! Just ensure you keep your flip flops on and tread very carefully. Lots of people tripped over uneven strips of decking when we were there. We think they'd had professionals in to do most of the wood work around the complex then decided to have a go themselves! That said, the beach area is lovely. Plenty of sunbeds and plenty of room. We didn't bother with the pool as this filled up very early and was mainly where the families with very young children chose to stay. Not sure how full the hotel was when we were there but the poolside was full to capacity everyday. Very slippy, very cramped.
Take loads of suntan lotion it is unbelievably hot plus a travel kettle if you like drinks in the room. The hairdryer in the room works well and theres no need to take your own.
In all we enjoyed the week but unlike Club Voyage in Turkey where we return every year, don't think we'd want to return to Palm Wings. Hope you find this useful!

We were the first people to book into this resort that opened on the 1st July we were moved to this hotel as had been double booked in previous hotel. On arrival we were warmly greeted where the bell boys took our luggage to our apartment. The accommodation was above average for this type of holiday, where we had a flat screen tv, air conditioning and plenty of space. We also had a fruit basket and a bottle of sparkling wine waiting for us in our room. The staff were very friendly and always made an effort to talk to us. Having been to 2 previous hotels on this holiday (due to booking problems), the food was very good for an all inclusive holiday and the waiters were very helpful. As the resort had just opened, some of the facilities were not open, which was very frustrating. however, by the time you read this, everything should be up and running. As with all new hotels, there were a few issues. When the sprinklers came on, they soaked us when we were sitting on the patio and our towels were wetter in the morning then when we had put them out to dry in the evening

hi there, we have just returned today from staying at palm wings resort in its first week of opening. on arrival we were greeted with wine and very helpful and friendly staff. we got transported to our little house bit by golf cart thing, lol they dont even want you to walk! the wee housey thing was very nice. double bedroom with loads of storage space, nice living room with 2 sofa beds and a plasma tv and patio doors out to the patio where we had a table and 4 chairs. there was A/C in the living room and bedroom but the bedroom one was a bit dodgy until about the 3rd day when it suddenly started working fine.. much to our delight as it was bloody roasting!
meal times were nice when we got to eat outside for the first 2 days, but as more guests arrived food was served in the big pnorama restaurant which was fine but flies seemed to swarm in and were all over the food which made you want to eat first to ensure the food wasnt covered in fly bits.
the staff were mega friendly however the turkish holiday makers there did tend to get preferencial treatment. the waiters would be bringing bread and wine to their table whilst you struggle to even get them to bring you some cutlery..
the pool is MASSIVE but the surrounding areas for loungers isnt. it seems crammed in comparrison to the total hugeness of the pool.
the hotel is in a really nice area, youre just a short walk to a supermarket and other bars if you like it a bit rowdier, dolphin square in altinkum is 15lira in a taxi away, kinda like blackpool but without the charm! the way to get around the area is by dolmus. they are every 15 mins or so and run all day till late at night, its 1lira 25 for the fare wich is roughly 50p? so its really cheap to use to go up to temple of apollo which i recommend and to go to the pazar market in didim on saturdays but prepare to get hassled!!
the entertainment team were very enthusiastic and the kids seemed to love it. the outside amphitheatre is cool but mega loud whilst the entertainment is on and sad for you if, like us, you want an early night before you leave in the middle of the night for your transfer to the airport. we were quite close to this though so you might be ok if youre further away..
all in all we had a fantastic week, i'm really nitpicking here and it really was jsut finding its feet. we were offered a free week next year all inclusive for being the first ever guests and we'll really look forward to this! just need to find some cheap flights :)
overall i'd give this hotel 9/10 when its up and running fine, highly recommended.

Hi we were amongst first guests to arrive at this hotel, flowers, champagne and fruit on arrival. The hotel was not quite finished but did not deter us in anything we wanted to do. Few teething problems (as expected with newly opening) with the rooms but sorted as soon as complaint. The rooms were fabulous with flat screen TV, fridge and A/C and patio with table and chairs. Staff very friendly, food nice (sometimes we bit cold for ma liking), entertainment crew very friendly and mingled amongst guests at meal times. The pool area was lovely and had flumes for the kids (and us lol). We preferred the private beach with really comfy beds with cushions, only thing would say about the beach the water had few large rocks which I thought bit dangerous for kids although when we were leaving some of the staff were attempting to remove some of the bigger rocks so maybe that wont be a problem now. Beach towels supplied everyday (more room in case magic). As we were first guests we were given a free week next May and I cant wait loved our holiday and met loads of lovely people.

We arrived at Palm Wings 4 days after opening, hoping that it would be complete but it was incomplete and still was when we left 7 days later. We had a lovely huge appartment but it had a few teething problems we had no tv, no curtains, no safe deposit box and the door frame fell off when we attempted to close the door ! The first two problems were resolved after a few daays/trips to reception !
Once completed Palm Wings will be lovely but at present families will struggle to entertain teenagers on site, this was also echoed by a number of guests on our stay. But for those who are happy to lay around the pool its fine. The pool is huge, but did get cramped for sunbed space as more guests arrived. As we left the internet cafe and gym were just being completed and the spa was up and running (fantastic turkish bath, well worth a visit ). The only place to eat on site was the main dining room.
The food was as usual for an all inclusive nothing special, but the flies were annoying in the dining room. 1 fly killer was placed on a table near the door after a couple of days, so maybe this is something they are looking in to.
Over all Palm Wings was full of lovely people, great value for money at the current prices and will be fantastic !

we stayed in a villa which was nice looking , but had problems with internal doors that lock you out, fridge didnt work for full week and which is dangerous if you happen to be diabetic and need to put your insulin in it,broken tv,leaking shower, dangerous pool and slides,3 of my children were injured on the slide ,badly fitted tiles and by idiots being allowed to fly down the slide on dinghys straight into children, pool bar seemed to constantly smell of sick, food was nice but crawling with flies.staff are friendly but speak little if any english, the female water aerobics teacher is very grumpy towards children and shoos them away even when this is the shallow bit of pool.entertainment is dire ampitheatre is dangerous as the steps are neither marked or have any lighting and its very steep.i would visit again but only when all the problems and building work is completed.

Could not have been happier with the room - so much better than we expected. Okay there were no curtains when we arrived but we made do for the first morning (arrived 6am) but when we returned after lunch they were up and sorted.

Only things lacking at present is the number of toliets in the public area and better lighting and safety rails on some of the stair or tiered area's. Pool side can be slippy but more than enough seating and parasoles. We never used it ourselves as we prefered the beach which was fantastic - however at this time it would be difficult to access this if you had a mobility problem or very young children as lots of steep steps and no ramps going all the way down - yet!!
Entertainment seems to be of the continental variety - lots of europoppy songs for the kids club and some strange but funny games for the adults - close enough to walk to the nearby strip if you want or rooms have nice balconies if you want to relax and read. TV only had one english channel although later should be six. No tea making facilities - just to warn you.

Some communication problem with staff and felt especially the security and recption staff should have had at least passable english.

Food was fresh, plentiful and varied and was superb. Unfortunalty many of us brits had no manners and it is always nice to acknowledge good service and the staff really appreciated it. Yes there are some teething troubles but mostly minor and will not spoil your time at this resort.

We would have booked to come back before we left if we could have.

Hi Guys, my husband, kids and I came home on 10th July, we had a relly lovely time and are booked to return at the end of May next year. Our daughter made some good friends, some of which are also returning the same week as we are.

The hotel was very nice, yes, a few minor problems that were sorted out quickly (well, we ended up getting our curtains on the last night, but had nets up so that didn't really matter)! The problems and incompleteness of some things no way ruined our holiday, it's just making us look forward to our holiday all the more next year.

The staff were really friendly, couldn't do enough to help you out and loved the kids. The Turkish Baths opened on 5th July, my husband and I would highly recommend using this, yes, you may pay a little more than if you were to go outside of the hotel for any of the treatments, but it is definitely worth it, and they do offer you discounts for repeat visits down there.

My husband used the gym whilst we were there and thought us was brilliant. i had problems trying to get my daughter out of the swimming pool!! She loved the slides, except the blue one, that was a little rough, maybe needs some sanding down. The pool was thought out very well, although it didn't have depth markers on.

We couldn't fault the food that was there, it was first class and the service was great too, look out for Yusaf in the restaurant, he's one of the managers in there, say hello from Jemma!! He went totally out of his way to help, on our last day we were being picked up at 13:00 and lunch starts at 12:30, so we just had time to grab something to eat, because Bodrum Airport is so expensive. Anyway, our 15 month old son had fallen asleep, well, Yusaf found us a couple of tin foil dishes and gave us something to wrap them in so we could take some food for him to eat on the journey to the airport, which I thought was really kind of him to do. The only thing I would say is that there wasn't a specific kids menu, but if your kids are anything like mine and eat pretty much anything, then there's something for them at each meal and the snack, ice cream and cookies and cake times during the day!!

The evening entertainment was good, and yes, if you're not on the ball you get dragged up, I know, I was up a couple of times!! The mini disco was good, my daughter is still going round singing the spanish song and doing all the actions!! The mini club opened a few days into our holiday, our daughter went a few times and really enjoyed herself. The play park that is next to the mini club is really good, although the best time is in the evening when the sand has cooled down.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone, the longer we were there, the more things became available. Can't wait for next year, not looked at flights yet, but I'm sure I'll find some bargin!!

Jem
