Altinkum is a lively little resort, but you can also chill out with a bit of peace and quiet if thats what you want..the best of both worlds there...all amenities are close together, you dont have to walk for to get anywhere, and locals are very friendly and remember your face

I stayed in Altinkum and it was that good I bought a house. This place is like dying and gone to heaven that's how much I rate this resort.
As for enterainment you can get anything that you could ask for and as for the beach you will have to go far to beat this great beach.
I will be going to stay in Altinkum for good in September 2005

The main beech in Altinkum is very busy with lots of turks trying to sell you stuff.
If you want peace and quiet try the 3rd beach which has a free bus running to it. The resturants are really good value and also try the market were you can lots of good copies.
Try the kebabs on the see front of the main beech out of this world.

The resort was nothing but a building site on three sides
Entertainment was just one night with extremly loud music from local band playing traditional music but not well.
A belly dancer that i have seen better at home with women practising on telly
the private beach is a joke
I would go to altinkum but not to tropicano as its so far out of town 10 miutes by taxi but advertised as only 1 km less than a mile HUMMMM if this is holiday maybe i will stay at home in future

Altinkum is not the best resort I have visited in Turkey.
I would only return there because I enjoyed the hotel I stayed at.

The resort centre was lively and quite nice however the back streets and outskirts were a mess ( unfinished buildings, rubble etc.)Altinkum is undergoing massive development at the moment, every other shop is selling real estate. We did not stay in the town centre and so were unaffected by any building noise. We did not go into town very often as when we did, we were constantly approached by very friendly shop keepers/restauranteurs which became annoying after a while.

Resort very clean and everyone really friendly.Beach and Didim shopping centre very close-by.We mainly ate & drank at the Valentine Bar which is just at the end of the road of the Mutlu. Here, the food, prices, service & entertainment was very good as were the waiters(Erol,Mario,Gerard & Ankum).Another good place to eat was the Suer Restaurant down on the beach front often went there for a light snack of real home-made chips, steak baguette & bisto gravy which only cost £1:50.Resort and beach area very clean and well maintained.

Altinkum is a sandy beach resort suitable for children. Its a bit underdeveloped (2004) but I immagine changing fast. We used it as a relatively cheap centre for exploring the area & a bit of sun & sand. Full of "Brits" and probably lower end of the market but quite fun in A Gaza strip kind of way.

Buses are frequent and cheap. Turkish are extremely friendly and there are many ex pats out there to get the low down of what is going on.
Much building work but hardly any people in April...
