Bodrum is busy!!! There are loads of Bars, restaurants, clubs and shops. However, we hired a Jeep and visited the many other smaller resorts in the area, where the pace is less hectic. We did go into Bodrum most evenings and one could find really nice bars on the beach, especially recommended is Roka, where you can sit on the beach and have a meal or a drink. The Atlantic Bar is another good place just to sit with a drink and people watch!!!

A very vibrant resort. Spotless.
You will always find something here.
We used the Dolmus to go to Bitez beach as there is not much of one in Bodrum but again it was all part of the experience.
A delightful place and roll on 2006!

Clean around town no litter anywhere, no graffiti, beautiful scenery and lots of day trips available. People speak some English but there is no big problem communicating, worth the visit.

Bodrum it self is one of the cleanest places I have been to.
Very friendly people all over the place. I did not feel threatened at any point of the day or night.
Shopping is a great experience. Dont be offended by cutting there prices by half as it is all the fun of shopping in turkey. If you would like a good bargain do a bit of shopping in the Bodrum market on Tuesdays. Just remember if you are not happy with the price walk away, if they want to sell they will soon call you back.
There are many restaurants along the marine in Bodrum. You can eat from the four corners of the world.
Well recommended is a trip to the hairdressers for both men and women for a shave and the nail treatment for the girls. One of the best tips is go for the turkish bath a must for everyone.
There is only a long but very narrow beach in Bodrum I can not tell you much about it as it was not used.

The only time we really saw anything of the resort was when we went out on trips and picked up from other hotels.
The location of our hotel did not make the resort centre accessable by foot (unless you were feeling extremely fit and energetic).
Torba seemed very small but Bodrum was very close and that is well worth a visit or two.

Bodrum was good, with lots going on.
We usually stay in nearby Gumbet and I think we will return to that next time.
Bodrum doesnt have a beach to speak of but there are lots of lovely beaches around the peninsular that are easily and cheaply visited by dolmus- a kind of minibus service. The main dolmus station is in Bodrum itself, so that is quite handy.
Plenty of nice restaurants, some were you can dine on the beach in the evening, quite romantic, although I think my hubby missed that point?!?
Lots of shopping, lots of bartering, lots of bargains if you stick to your guns- walking away often works!! All in all a very vibrant, busy resort- so enjoy!!

Bodrum is the resort to go to if you like shopping and countless places to eat. There is no beach here. It is also the best place to start from if you want to use the Dolmus buses because the bus station is here. The buses are extremly cheap, convenient and if there are two of you will start their journey as soon as you approach them. We visited Gumbet and ibites (spelling?)and whilst these were great for day trips and the beach preferred to come back to Bodrum which had more to keep our attention.
We found the cheapest place to eat here 'Saray Zetas' where they supply free balloon bread, free coffee and free fresh fruit to finish. The quality was superb. Mehmet and Barry provide amusing and friendly service and we eat for half that of surrounding restaurants and with better quality. Our meals as above, with drinks and coffee were costing between £5 and £8 each per meal. Fantastic value. Highly recommended. This is in the road behind the harbour street. If you go to the harbour restaurants, you will get a nice view but will pay an extra £5 per head or more.
The castle is well worth a visit but bear in mind the exhibits shut for an hour at lunch time.
Lovely resort with some of the loveliest and friendly people. The locals bend over backwards to make you welcome.
I will definately visit Turkey again and with time, return here.
