Food was of a very poor standard and meat was not evident on our first 3 days. When chicken (wings) did appear on the menu they were all gone within 15 minutes.
The rooms were clean and tidy, the best part of the holiday. If you wanted air con it was

Litera Gumbet Relax Resort (previously Hotel Simba). This was advertised as a four-sun hotel, but it was nowhere near that standard (2*?).

The rooms are very basic and with limited storage - a little off putting to begin with. However, the buffet food is fine, and there is always something reasonable available, and the restaurant facilities are good.

Avoid the one-night "a la carte" offer however - it is nothing like you might expect, and is simply one of the courses from the buffet in the restaurant. Probably reasonable value for the price we paid (discounted), but not if you are paying full whack.

There appears to be an extension being built nearby, which was all new build and workers were there flat out till midnight - there was no serious noise problem, but the entrance road was a bit of a mess at times. When this is finished, the property might be similar standard to neighbouring Siesta and Jasmine Aparthotels.

Expect to eat out once or twice. I would not be as critical as others, but this is a very basic accommodation and not quite to the standard of all-inclusives I have been in before in Spain, for example, but I would not rule out a return. They do try.

The free bar finishes at 11.00, and at 5 lira for a half pint the prices are very high. However, the Moods Cafe (part of Jasmine Hotel) is only a short walk away and pints are 4 Lira!

The hotel room was cleaned every day, with cleam towels always there. The pool was clean and inviting, the waiters and waitresses helpful.

These were the best things about the hotel. The breakfast was basic, the entertainment was non existant. The complaint was that nothing is included, air con

Our room got cleaned everyday even though it was only surpose to be done every other day.

Didnt think much of the entertainment its ok if your older.
didnt rate the food much we only had it twice.

The staff were brill carrying our bags before we had chance to get near them. Didnt get chance to go round the pool though as it was full every day.

our first day we were shoved in a grotty room i think because we were young they thought we wouldnt be bothered but for the money we paid we complained and got moved straight away.

If your going to this hotel dont go with First Choice go with Thomson, because with Thomson you'll get a tv and a fridge in your room but First Choice have nothing.

If your looking for a bit of luxury on your hol don't book here. Basic is an understatement. Rooms extremely small and pockey, had a ground floor room, it got no sun at all through the day so room was damp and clammy hence why the bathroom was wall to wall black mould, complained to staff but they didn't want to know.

If you go with Thomson, the rep at the hotel is useless, is not interested in talking to you unless you are booking one of their excursions, wasn't even bothered about helping us out even when my mother in law was propositioned for sex outside her room by a pervy guest.

Breakfast not bad, had more variety than I thought, salad, cold meats, bread etc.

Be warned any food or drink that you purchase outside of the hotel, you will not be allowed to take it in with you, witnessed quite a few people having arguments with the hotel staff because they confiscate it and give it back to you when you leave.

When we got to simba hotel we was looking forwards to a really good holiday but it started bad and ended worse.

As a big party we had requested rooms in the same area of the hotel with disable access as my gran is in a wheel chair This did not happen.
After we got though to the staff that my gran couldn't walk down stairs they gave her a room on groung floor but the rest of us was space out all over the hotel.

As half board we had spent alot of money on the holiday but only eat in the hotel twice as the food was that bad, not only was the food bad my little sister (5) burnt her arm on the baymary in the resturant.

The cleaning staff were great and the room was very very clean.

over all not a great holiday but would consider going back to the hotel on room only.

When we arrived a young lad carried our bags to our room. I explained to him that I only had large Euro notes and to find me the next day for a tip. He said if he'd known he would not have carried my bags (not that we had any choice in the matter - he took them while we were booking in). I told him where to go - he got no tip. Welcome to Turkey.

We were allocated a room beneath the swimming pool (literally underneath the dep end) which had only one window at the front. The bathroom was at the back and was rotting with damp. The whole room was dark and smelt of fungus. We were moved to better rooms after complaining. Right next to the lower swimming pool. During the day the lower pool bar pumped out boom boom music at full volume until it closed at 6pm. Then the bar at the upper pool took over with the same music until approx 6am. Not my cup of tea.

We never ate or had an evening in the hotel mainly because the young staff seemed only interested in impressing the teenage schoolgirl holidaymakers.

We won't be going back to this hotel again.

Please do not waste your money this hotel is a disgrace so much so I will never go back to Gumbet how anyone could class this hotel as a 3 star is beyound belief.

Had to ask for rooms to be cleaned had cigarettes stolen. Went to rep no help. We had a two year old child with us every time a male cleaner saw her they were kissing her on legs arms and face this was not on.

The staff were not very helpful at anytime people who we spoke to said the same we were not the only people who had stuff taken fromm our rooms they use a card system for food and drinks which is a total rip off. Had to check balance quite a few times. No fridge in rooms for to keep water cool I asked about having one but like everthing else in this place you had to pay.

Also if you like to be up half the night there is a 24 hour bar. What a rotten holiday!

I have been five times to Turkey and each time I have not had to make any complaints. This was the second time I have been to hotel Simba and like the first time I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I thought that the hotel was kept very clean and for that I want to give my compliments to all the cleaners as they did a wonderful job while it was over 40.

I did not eat in the hotel very often but when I did I did not find anything to complain about, there was a wide variety of things.

The location of the hotel is very beautiful it is set on a slight hill which overlooks the beach and the town. It looks very nice at night.

The hotel staff are excellent they are above words. They are always cheerful and will do anything you ask and they always do it with a smile. Also there was entertainment nearly every night from Turkish belly dancers to Russian synchronised swimming.

To conclude it is a brilliant hotel with excellent staff and I will most definitely return there in the near future. Thank you
