We went to Hotel Simba for 2 weeks in July 2004 with First Choice holidays. The hotel is probably one of the cleanest we have ever stayed in. The rooms were basic but cleaned every day (thanks to our smiley cleaner!), sheets changed every other day and towels daily. Hotel had 2 pools, neither had a shallow end but both had kids splash pools. Staff served drinks round pool, so didn't have to get up all day!! Pool bar open 24 hours. Staff were fantastic, very friendly and always willing to help. They provided most of the entertainment (you can't miss their "special" bar dance - it was hilarious!!). Credit card system is a good idea, just top up your card as you need to so you don't have to carry cash around all day. All in all a fantastic holiday - special thanks to Dolphin and 24 Hour Garry who really made our holiday something else!! I will be back next year!

we stayed at the Hotel Simba on a Bed and Breakfast basis. The breakfast was excellent, and in a buffet style, but the staff were always there to help and keep things clean and food stocked up. There was generous portions of fresh food every day. The hotel itself was in a excellent location, not far from the beach and the town centre of Gumbet but far enough to escape the hussle and bussle of Night time revellers. The hotelwas very clean and the staff were the best we have ebver seen considering the amount of holidays we have been to over the last 4/5 years. The were brilliant with our two young children, both under ten, a special thankyou to Huseyin or should we say Tarzan. The entertainment was ok and the staff themselves entertained everybody more that enough. We are going back there in July 2005 which we have booked early to avoid any disappointent. Would reccomend it to anybody with children. The pool was nice and clean too

The hotel could be a very nice place to be but the music was too loud around the pool area and in the pool bar , they played the same cd all the week!
The offensive Gangster rap they insisted on playing was full of bad language! We didnt have clean sheets until we asked the rep' on the sixth day!

The menu was limited to chips chips burger pizza or chips. The waiters who worked the pool bar were rude. Four out of 7 days hoilday was spent using another hotels pool below the simba, it was either move or go home!

The family on a whole enjoyed the Hotel, although basic facilities. The rooms were kept generally clean the only problem being they didn't change the sheets enough.
The selection of food on our first week esp for the kids was not the best, but it did improve in the second week apparently by this time we only had breakfast at the hotel.
We made very good friends with a few of the staff with Kylie and Daisy befriending the children as did Mehmet and Hulya and Rashid the maids, some of the other staff I did find a bit keen and maybe overbearing, at breakfast my plate was lifted a few mornings before I had finished.
I would return to the hotel again as had no real complaints.

The Hotel Simba was clean, staff was helpful and polite.
Did have a problem with the room being damp but once we complained we were moved to another room within half an hour.
Hotel food was good but not enough variety especially for children. Close to the beach and shops where you can get plenty of cheap snide bags clothes etc with a bit of haggling.
Entertainment was ok but its made up with the funny staff.

You dont have to get off your sun-lounger for drinks one of the staff is always on hand to take your order.

A must is a trip on the boats, go and see sandy on the beach for

Simba had basic but spotless rooms, the two pools were very clean but quite deep at both ends fine for us but not for kiddies, 2 small splash pools for youngsters. entertainment was put on by bar and restaurant staff and wasn,t very good but made you laugh despite this. Staff wait on you hand and foot and make every effort to ensure you enjoy your stay there.

Booked this at last minute and wasn,t disappointed resort was 5 min walk away, Hotel was spotless and all the staff were great. The hotel operates a card system, you put money on the card and all you have to do is sign for whatever you have ordered great idea, went on the day cruise with sandy was a good day out

Stayed at the Simba hotel for 2 weeks in May with my boyfriend and absolutely loved it, the room was basic but clean. The staff are friendly and wait on you around the pool which is nice especially when you are trying to get a good tan and don't want to keep having to get up for drinks. Their credit card system is really good as you don't have to carry money with you around the pool. Didn't need the air con as we went in May and the weather was perfect, hot in the day and colder at night so that you can get ready without sweating all your make up off before you've made it out the hotel.

Had breakfast most mornings, but only ate our evening meal there twice, the food was nice but not when you compare it to the other restaurants available (and there are a few!). Windy Bay is without a doubt the best restaurant in mine and my boyfriends opinion, the staff are nice and chatty, the food is gorgeous, not to mention cheap, and with a free bottle of wine you can't complain! The view is amazing, it's right on the beach and they even give you blankets if you're cold, you must go here at least once.

For location the hotel was perfect and you get amazing views from the pool area, especially at night.

Two last notes, the shopping is amazing for fake designer gear so take lots of shopping money and get ready to haggle, you can usually get around 25% off the asking price. The only bad thing I will say is the shop workers don't leave you alone whether you're inside or outside of the shop but once you go in they follow you constantly. And lastly try a turkish bath on your first day to get an amazing tan and drink the apple tea they give you at the end.

To summarise, nice people, nice food, amazing views, and excellent shopping, definitely a place I'd go back to!

I am only 12, but I have a really strong opinion of this place, it was a load of rubbish, to put it mildly.

First room we got put in was a garden veiw room, and Iwouldn't have put a pig in it, also you could't have swung a mouse in there, let alone a cat. We didn't stay in that room, and demanded we got moved straight away. The next room was ok I suppose. It was bigger, slightly cleaner, but still only deserved a 2 star.

Food was actually quite edible, but there wasn't much choice.

Entertainment was non existant, the bar manager was too lazy to do anything. There was a Turkish night though, which was just about as bad as watching paint dry, but it was a long walk down into town to see anything else.

Anyone with walking problems shouldn't visit this hotel. If you don't like Turkish music blaring constantly through the day, then take a personal cd player with you.

I will never in my life visit this hotel again, it is the worst hotel ever!!!!!!!!
