Have to try Tommy's bar (2 minutes over the road) - fantastic food and service - Also Meryhem (a 10 minute walk towards square) is absolutely the best if you like local cuisine - try the mixed meze starter - WoW!

Plenty of lovely restaurants close by, and depending if you like Boom Boom bars or places for a chill drink, everything is on your doorstep, but doesn't interfere with your sleep.

I have been to Icmeler 6 times now.I love the people the culture and everything about it.The people are so friendly, and i have made a lot of friends here.Would recommend it to everyone as Icmeler caters for all.Very family orientated and disabled person Freindly.Try the small Turkish eating places for good cheap wholesome food. Aysia just behind the main street is superb.

Loved loved loved icmeler - shame i couldnt say the same about the place we chose to stay in.
Loved the Three Bells and Love Star, they couldnt do enought for us and made such a fuss over our little boy! the beach is fantastic and we had lovely days there.

Only complaint about Icmeler is that like Marmaris it is in Danger of drowning under it's own success. There are too many bars and restaurants which may be OK in high season but as it gets a little quieter there aren't enough people to give most of them any atmosphere. The shops also have taken on a repetitive format all selling the same old tat plus endless not so cheap anymore copy watches, tee shirts etc. In our last week the quite pleasant riverside market stalls were selling DVD's 16 for ten UK pounds, now that is cheap.
Icmeler is a good resort overall with a bit of everthing. Try the Waterfall restaurant for something a little bit different.

I've been to Icmeler many times now and love it. The resort is quieter than neighbouring Marmaris but there is still plenty to do. There are many bars and restaurants - they turn the music down at midnight, so if you want loud music then hop a taxi into Marmaris at night - it's only 15 minutes' away.
It's a good town to walk around. Most places are fairly close to dolmus stops (local minibuses). There are many restaurants and shops - people have their favourites but you're unlikely to get bored as there are so many to choose from
Favourite restaurant - Cupid's - I've been there a few times on my own and was never put in a bad seat (unlike many restaurants). The steaks are great and the desserts amazing!
Favourite entertainment – the Stella Show. This is a drag show at the Harmony Bar, on the beach. It's at the dolmus terminus so it's easy enough to find. Very entertaining and a little bit blue. There’s a cover charge unless you buy a meal. I went at the end of the season and the restaurant was closed but they put on a taxi to their sister restaurant , didn’t charge for it and still waived the cover charge.
Favourite Turkish bath - NOT in Icmeler. After years of trying different ones, I go to the Hammam in Marmaris bazaar, just behind the white mosque. I went through a personal recommendation – they’re not linked to any tour operators so you get a more individual service and they don’t rush you in and out.
Favourite hairdresser/beautician - staff change too often to recommend just one but I've always had good manicures/pedicures at the Idas hairdresser - underneath the side entrance to the Idas Hotel. All the hairdressers also do threading if you want to give it a try, just be warned that this is as likely to be done by a man as a woman, and in full view of the shop, so you can’t afford to be embarrassed about having it done.
Favourite tour company - Icmeler Travel. Run by an Edinburgh woman, Carol, who's been there for many years . The tours are reasonable and if you've special requirements they're very helpful (for example. I hate long coach journeys - she suggested trips that didn't involve too long a transfer plus gave me the name of a good, local travel sickness medication to boot!!) Just be aware that the shop is upstairs and there's no lift - but you can discuss/arrange trips from here - she has an Edinburgh number you can ring, listed on her website.
Favourite Jeweller's - Tony's - facing the L'Etoile hotel, directly across from the tourist information booth and the new fountains. The owner, Mustafa, is very helpful, knowledgeable and never hassles. I only ever buy jewellery abroad and now I only ever go to Tony's. In fact, even though I'll be visiting Marmaris for an early holiday this year I'll be making a day trip to Tony's to have some stones reset.
Overall – this is a great resort for couples and people with younger children. If you want louder music or clubs then you’d be better off in Marmaris. Love Icmeler and I’m hoping to go again asap.

This was a lovely resort and would visit again. Found some lovely apartments/villas further back from the main drag and will return there. It is so much better than a few years ago as you do not get pestered to eat is various diners. Loved the friendly people as they were so kind and accommodating.

icmeler is a lovely place clean and freindly with a lovely beach which is kept clean,if you see any rubbish on there its been left by the brits,i was sick and tired of picking up after them.even the kids picked up other peoples rubbish.not as much hassleing this year probably due to the new mayor.did notice that the markets and shops and increased their prices a lot,so would advice marmaris for shopping, but icmeler is a great place and still prefer to marmaris..

A very friendly resort very much aimed at the british visitor. Huge number of restaurants with all the larger places putting on great entertainment about 10pm every night. A special mention to the Venice and to the three bells but this is only because we ate there. The food was excellent quality wherever we ate and we did not have a bad meal the whole week. Whilst they want to get you into their place, they do it without any hassle.
