Have to try Tommy's bar (2 minutes over the road) - fantastic food and service - Also Meryhem (a 10 minute walk towards square) is absolutely the best if you like local cuisine - try the mixed meze starter - WoW!

Plenty of lovely restaurants close by, and depending if you like Boom Boom bars or places for a chill drink, everything is on your doorstep, but doesn't interfere with your sleep.

Icmeler is just along the coast from Marmaris, which is busy and quite brash in some respects. Nonetheless, good for a shopping trip in the Old Bazaar.
Icmeler itself is more restrained but still with a lot to offer for everybody. Jewellery and clothing stalls by the canalside market are fascinating and the town has plenty of restaurants, bars and a couple of nightclubs for those who like to see the nightlife.
There are also plenty of coach trips available to visit historical gems such as Graeco-Roman remains at Ephesus, or the mud-baths at Dalyan, and any number of boat-trips to cruise on the Med, enjoy the sun and stop to bathe in sheltered bays.

Icmeler has plenty good quality restaurants and bars. Some of the views are stunning and the boat trips are good value.Take time to look around the town as there are plenty side roads with traditional smaller restaurants offering good food. The boats over to marmaris leave from the beach and offer a good day out. The beach can get busy so walk futher around and you come to a less crowded spot where the turkish go.

Icmeler is a lovely resort, I was surprised it wasnt busier but then this may just be because of the recession. The beach is nice if not a little small and think that people staying in private accomodation may find it difficult to get a spot on the beach as most of it seems to be divided between the hotels! There is a large market and the little stalls around the canal area are open all day and long into the evening. There is nightlife if you want it but I think the resort is better for the family and older patrons.

First visit to Turkey and we loved it. Beach was clean and sea really clear. Canal area nice, nothing much in Old town. Transfer a bit too long, had a 15 minute pit stop which wasn't needed and just added to an already long journey. Turkish people really friendly and not too pushy

we found it a superb place to take a young family the weather never went below a 100degrees + most days was between a 105 to 112 scorchio lol all the bars + rest have nightly entertainment+the average price for us to eat out was between 40 to £60 per night

The local people were very friendly and helpful, adn not just because they want you to spend your money. Following an accident on the beach, the locals rallied round taking us to the clinic and making sure we were looked after, which I really appreaciated.
I recommend Cafe Ann - down the side astreet from Palm Garden on the corner of the main road opposite the Elvis Bar. The service was excellent and a delicious range of food was on offer. We often called there to share a cheescake which was huge. We also ate in several local restaurants that varied from lively at the Stella bar to quiet and relaxing at Liberty.
We loved the beach and soon found a regular spot. The beach boys take about 15% commission, but check your tab just in case. We only paid for sunbed hire and brought our own drinks and snacks - most supermarkets will sell frozen bottles of water which is ideal for a day on beach - and the beach boys were fine with this and didn't hassle us. The usual water sports were offered for the more adventurous. There are several stalls selling boat trips - haggle. We got a lazy day trip for £5 each that included bbq and several stops for swimming in clear blue sea. A Turkish bath and massage is a must. We opted for the holiday company's trip to Turkish bath in Marmaris simply because this felt safer for my 11 year old daughter, but again there are other places to try if you choose.Catch a dolmus for 2tl to Marmaris for more shopping or a fantastic night out, or take the taxi boat for 7 lira 50.
Walk along the boulevard on the beach to the far end and visit Cafe Del Mar. Staff there were lovely - showing us magic tricks as well as serving some delicious food.
We fell in love with Icmeler and can't wait to return next year.
