Location
The location is not too bad it just depends on your personal preference I travelled with my wife and 2 young children so I found it ideally placed for the kids to get a good nights sleep. If you want the livelier side of Marmaris the dolmus stop is only 100 yards down the road 1 lira to Marmaris town.
The hotel entertainment is good for the kids during the day but I did not think it was too good on a night which is a pity because the entertainment team are the same people night and day so lifting themselves to sing after already working 10 hours must be hard.
The swimming pools and slides are great, but a few children had ear infections from the slide pool, my son included, but this is usually down to people using the pool as a toilet.
The staff are very friendly, sometimes too friendly towards single young ladies.
The wristband system is a good idea but prices are higher than outside the hotel but your on holiday so who cares.
Our room was spacious and was cleaned and fresh towels & linen every day.

Breakfast good for adults but bit limited for children espeacially my 4 year old.
The pool area was cleaned through the day by the staff pools were great all my 3 children loved them as they had slides this year.
The airtours club was fantastic wish I used it for the 2 weeks I was there as I dont normally use them but my son asked to go and loved it the staff where brilliant.
Though the shop was expensive also didnt display prices so you wher conned when got to the till, do like the wrist bant idea as you dont have to carry money around with you.safe deposit box was very expensive to hire.
Hotel staff where brilliant very friendly and helpfull. espeacially in the drunken duck. Thanks for the football.
Entertainment was great in the day and at night reps really got you involved hope there their next year when we return.

There was always plenty of choice & the staff were very friendly towards us & our children. Most evening's we ate out of the hotel purely for a change of scenery,we either went to the local resturant's or took a short bus ride to Marmaris town.
We thought the evening entertainment organised by the rep's was a little bit to tedious(even for the kids)but the traditional entertainment was great, especially the Turkish belly dancer! All in all we had a brilliant holiday & will be returning to the Club Julian very soon.

The hotel staff brought our cases up to our room promptly after our arrival, which wasn't until around 4am. By the time we had unpacked our essentials for that night we dived into bed, only to be woken up at around 5am with the loud speakers blasting prayers out from the mosque about 200 yards away from our balcony - Nightmare!! That in turn started the dogs howling and the cockerels crowing. After 5 nights with this early morning call we asked if we could move to an alternative wing, not quite as near to the mosque.
The hotel Manager was fantastic, he moved us the following day, and could not have been more helpful.
The pool areas were great, the kids loved the water slides and the rock pools. There were cleaning staff walking around all day, picking up any rubbish and generally keeping up the appearance of the hotel.
Plenty of Waiters also wandered around waiting for you to collar them to bring you a drink, of which you needed plenty as the heat was almost unbearable during the day and often at night. Thank God for the air conditioning in the rooms!!
The wristband system is a bit of a pain, you don't realise how expensive the drinks are from the bar until you look at your receipts from the night before! Infact everything on-site from drinks at the bar to the goods in the shop were far more expensive than the supermarkets outside of the hotel, we were paying 1.70GBP for a can of fanta at the on-site shop till we realised they were around half that at the shop 50yards across the road.
The evening entertainment was great if you were under 10 years old, we grinned and bared it coz our kids (8 & 4) thought it was fab!!
The centre of Marmaris is a good walk away, a definite no go during the day, it was just far too hot to be walking anywhere. We ventured out in the evenings when the heat was more bearable.
Our stay couldn't have been better, despite the early morning calls in the first week! All the staff were helpful and polite, and certainly tried to make everyone's holiday enjoyable.
Just a couple of words of warning,on arrival at the hotel you might want to hire the safety deposit box which cost 60YTL, a little on steep side I thought, and the mini fridge in your room will be locked, if you want the key it will cost you a staggering 80YTL for 2 weeks. I was gobsmacked when I enquired at reception and was overheared by another guest who told me not to bother paying for the key, just to push down on the fridge door and open it quite easily that way, which I subsequently did and saved myself almost 40 quid!!
On checking out of the hotel, you will get your deposit back for the wristband you receive on your arrival (5GBP or 10YTL), but if you have any money unspent on that wristband, they should give you that back too!! I had handed my wristband back to reception and was given our deposit back, but that was all, when my husband reminded me that we had around 40YTL left on the wristband I went back to reception, only to see 2 of the reception staff almost rubbing their hands together to see that I hadn't asked for my money back! When I did ask, there was no problem, they handed it over and tried to make up some excuse as to why they were viewing my billings on the computer and had my money in hand! but there you go!
All in all we had a great holiday with fantastically hot sunny weather. We wouldn't go back, but that was more to do with the resort than the actual hotel itself.

The only problem we suffered was 2 adults and 2 children in one room which was clearly only geared up for two. Not enough wardrobe space and no where to put suitcases (bathroom in the end)
The swipe wrist band was convenient for paying for items on site but your money soon disappeard as drinks were expensive
Entertainment was excellent for children but very poor for adults. My two children were too old so we never stayed for the entertainment.
The 'English Pub' The Drunken Duck (which is on site and air conditioned)was a great escape from the Airtours entertainment team who were a little over powering
We upgraded to half board for

Apartments basic but ok. Plenty of places to eat out, must try Rainbow restaurant. Pool area and sunbeds could have been cleaner. Loads of people visiting local doctor with ear infections - us included. Overall great holiday but definitely not 4*.

The English entertainers just didn't do it for us after living in Turkey for a long time it was just English riping English off.
With half board you don't get drinks with meals

Entertainment absolute garbage. Drinks expensive in hotel. Pool area needs a good scrub asap.
Book trips outside hotel as the reps are only interested in ripping you off.

Entertainers are great as well. Dont be a grumpy thing and watch while everyone dances to cartoon heroes like me, you'll regret it.
