The greeting when we arrived was friendly and personal assistance was given to us in the locating of our room and transfer of our luggage to same. We were given a detailed itinary in respect of meal times. Arrangements in respect of the hotel safe facility was dealt with expeditiously.
The room was very clean and there was adequate wardrobe and drawer space. The beds were very comfortable and the linen was changed on a frequent and regular basis. If it proved necessary for an extra linen change, we only had to ask at reception and this was dealt with the same day.
The food was excellant and there was never a day when we couldn't find something to our taste. The free bar had an excellant range of drinks. Coffee and tea being available all day as well.
The staff were excellant and displayed an excellant sense of humour, which, in some cases were necessary.
We found the location of Emre Beach ideal. There was never any shortage of sunbeds both on the beach or around the two spacious swimming pools. The bus stop into the centre and marina is directly outside and is regular (about every ten minutes. At a cost of 1.25 ytl is a real bargain as this is the same no matter how far you wish to go and the bus driver will stop to drop off and pick up anywhere on route. The bus stop to Icemeler is on the opposite side of the road.
Night life is not far away and should you not wish to use the bus it is only a short walk along the shore to lively entertainment.
All in all I cannot fault our holiday (which lasted for 6 weeks). We were never bored and indeed, are going back to the same hotel in May for another 6 weeks. We just cannot get enough of the place and will be going again at the end of 2007 as well!!

I stayed in the Emre Hotel.
The rooms are very spacious and clean, in order to eat and use the pool you have to cross the busy road.
The food is diabolical as this hotel seem to cater mainly for other foreign people and not English, we paid for all inclusive but had to buy breakfast and dinners out everyday. We may as well have gone self catering.
There is also a silly rule that if you want a drink you have to get it yourself 1 drink 1 person, you cannot go and get a drink for everybody in your party.
The only entertainment was a DJ playing foreign music every night, there was no pool games or volleyball, no daytime activities either.

Went on a 2 week holiday spending 1 week in 1 hotel and changing to the Emre for the 2nd week. The rooms were very nice, clean and spacious, limited channels on TV. For meals you had to cross the busy road to go to the sister hotel where the swimming pools were also.
The same food was served up every morning for breakfast not with the English tourists in mind, the lunch time menu was not very appealing either, most of the time if you were with a party you could not sit and eat together.
The evening meal was just as bad, the hotel did not cater for the English or children but all the other nationalities that stayed at the hotel.
The pools were not in the shade all day long as my party spent quite a lot of our holiday around the pool, in fact some days you were glad of a bit of shade later in the day and the pools were quite safe for non swimmers and children they could stand up at the shallow end.
The only entertainment was a DJ playing music not what my party expected.
To get a drink everybody in the party had to go to the bar themselves, they would only serve 1 drink per person and kept running out of some drinks.

Hello, I've just been to Emre Beach hotel in Marmaris, Turkey. Although the hotel services were bad, we had a great time there.
Rooms are tidy and comfortable, despite they are small and the hotel is quite old. The two pools are big and clean. There are plenty of sunbeds around them, so there is no problem with this. There is also a shallow pool for kids.
The dining area is also big enough, but there are really more than 20 waiters, who actually didn't do anything but watching you and taking your dish when still haven't finished it. The staff aren't polite at all. They don't like the fact that you've paid in advance, because they don't get extra money. There are tip boxes everywhere, but nobody gives a tip. You can guess why? :)
Food is plain and delicious, but they have the same dish every day. They change the main dish only. There are draught coffee and tea, beer, non-alcoholic drinks and local Gin, vodka and wine.
They play the same music every day. There is a DJ and some kind of brake and belly dances, but they are not professional at all. So, I can say here is no entertainment in Emre Beach. There is plenty of food, specially salads and cakes. This hotel is appropriate place for families with kids.
Otherwise Marmaris is not bad. There a many bars on the main street and a lot of the so called English pubs. The personnel is even more kind that they should be.
The beach is clean but very very narrow and the sea is very clean and warm. There are no clams and birds there and there are no waves actually.
There are interesting tours to Effes, Pamikkale, Cleopatra island, Turtle beach ant etc.
So, you will have a nice time there if you ignore the oriental behaviour or the Turkish people.
Have fun!

My friend and i stayed in this hotel last year and were so impressed we returned again this. What a wrong move. It had been bought out and how it had changed.
The only staff who were at all polite were the cleaning staff. Who keep the rooms very clean.
The food was out of this world(or should have been) It was not good when the bought the Hotel they changed the kitchen staff not for the better.
The location of the hotel for the night life was ok you could catch a dolmus into the centre or walk for 10 minutes along the sea front to come to somewhere to eat and entertain you.
The hotel staff from the waiters security and management were very rude, i saw a waiter take an apple from a young boy of 6yrs(who was eating it at the time) as he was walking behind his parents out of the dining room as you were not allowed to take food out. If you wanted a drink you had to queue up for your own and were give plastic cups(at night time)
This was the last straw as last year we had entertainment every night this year it was a DJ same songs each night and street entertainers 2 times a week.
Go to this hotel for sleeping only as this is all it is fit for.

In short - you get what you pay for! We booked this holiday through on the beach (an internet company) - flew with First Choice, and accommodation with Medhotels.
We had night flights (22.30 out - arrive at accomm 07.30 ish). Flight was OK, if not a bit cramped. We booked transfers through transfer only - this was OK, but we had to wait for the last flight to arrive on the off chance that they would get more bookings.
We went to the smallest room in the world, but had a sea view which was OK. Food in hotel was poor (don;t get me wrong, we will try anything food wise, but there was very little choice, and it wasn't hot).
When we first arrived I'm sure there was more staff than clients - but the waiters did not serve drinks, they appeared to be there just to tidy tables - may be this will change as the season goes on.
reception were helpful - I wanted to order flowers for our anniversary, and this was sorted very efficiently.
Be aware, if you want a seaview room - there are various bars in the vicininty which pump out loud music into the early hours of the morning.
Entertainment - ?!?!?!?!?! the only entertainment we saw was an nightly trip to a bar in bar street.

It was our 16th time in Marmaris and our first to the Emre Beach Hotel. It was the first time we had been there in October and didn't know what to expect.
The food was fine and some meals were very nice but it was Chicken for every meal. Not sure if it was because it was the last week of the season, although that should not have mattered. For three days although there was a fairly good choice of soft drinks at the bar, there was no diet Coke as they had run out. Not good at all if you have sugar problems as there was nothing instead.
The Hotel was quite clean but there were Mosquitos everywhere and my wife was bitten several times for the first time in quite a few visits. The maids did a good job of cleaning the rooms and the towels were changed regularly.
The location is not too bad as you can get a Dolmus or Taxi to the livlier end of the resort very cheaply.
A lot of the staff were very quiet but started to open up a bit towards the end of our week. I really think they were ready for home after the long season. The bar staff were for the first time in Turkey not very good at all and did not seem to care at all.
I only gave a 1 for entertainment as there was not a zero. I wouldn't want to play Bingo in England never mind Turkey.
I do not think I would stay at this Hotel again as there was nothing that I could say was really good apart from the maid service.
Just before we left an older lady complained about the food and was told to leave, no iffs no butts out. The rep came in while we were waiting for our transfer to Dalaman and there were another two ladies complaining about the Hotel too. They were finishing their drinks the night before just after A.I. time and playing cards when the staff put out all of the lights and told them to go. Not a good way to encourage your costomers to return.
A lot of the time it seemed to be we have your money now it doesn't matter.
