My wife and I stayed at the Ertur for 2 weeks in July 2008 and we had a great holiday. We were looking for a cheap holiday and thought that we were taking a chance booking 2* in Turkey. Rooms are basic but the ensuite is a decent size and fully tiled.
The standard of cleanliness is 5* with the rooms cleaned daily if you want (if you leave your key at reception in the morning it means you want your room cleaned that day, if you don't leave the key it means you choose not to have it done) The pool is big for the size of hotel. More than enough sunbeds and a real suntrap.
The position is perfect, a short stroll to the beach at the centre of the bay. Just follow the dry river bed.Far enough from the beach to be peaceful and close enough for convenience. No need for a taxi to visit anywhere in Marmaris. Close to the amphitheatre and weekly market.
Free gym equipment in the park just to the right of the Ertur and loads of nice eating places close by and better prices than on the front. We recommend the Aloa which is just down the road (120yds) almost opposite the main entrance at right angles to the river bed..
Rooms are basic but nearly all of them have a pool view and all have a good balcony. The staff are friendly without being intrusive and Mehmet is an excellent Manager striving for the best service for his guests. The twin beds are surprisingly comfortable. The air con is excellent but optional (

This hotel is run by an american woman and her turkish husband.
Jennifer and Mamett. The room's were cleaned on a daily basis and the staff were great nothing was to much trouble for them at all. the pool area is a total sun trap from early morning till at least six in the evening.
It is located about a 10 minute steady stroll from the main road in Marmaris, if you follow the dry river bed it brings you out near to Mcdonalds....the one nearest to the bazzar.
The breakfast was a simple turkish breakfast, which was fine and you can get an english breakfast at an extra cost if you wish, they also do other food from snacks up to steaks if you wish and was of a good quality. there was no entertainment as such, but Suliman one of the staff was always good for a laugh...as was Jennifer the owner, she and her husband made us fell very welcome and at home.
We would have no hesitation in going back.Thank you all at the Ertur hotel for a great holiday
