Location
the floors in our room were swept now and then but never washed in 2 weeks.
we never had hot water for the first 3days, every day told us it had been fixed, even after that we never knew if we could have a warm shower, we ended up going to a friends hotel to use their shower.A large balcony but no table or chairs to sit on we had to take chairs from inside the apartment, we gave up on the promises of chairs.Don't run up a bar tab always pay in cash as everyone we met had problems with their bill, staff saying that someone must have used our room number,HA HA.Our first and last time to turkey what a rip off most expensive place i have been to for all alcoholic & soft drinks. don't drink spirits in the hotel bar, doubt if there is any alcohol in it.

This is was the best holiday me and my family ever had. I found that Sayar apartments was better than last year as there is more entertainment karoke, turkish night, break dancing.
I found the staff very hardworking and friendly. It took 20-30 minutes to be in marmaris center but just round the corner from the resort there is a dolmus which is only 1 lira per person to get to marmaris center also near the apartments there are plenty of restarunts and shops. I advised you to go to cousins steakhouse 1+2 excellent meals/drinks there.
If you fancy going onto a trip I would advise you to go on Jeep Safari, from the start of your holiday turkish bath as it rub off your dead skin and helps you get a tan.(so relaxing it is).
I think that the apartments is very clean, very nice staff. Mind you ,you do get the people you go down earley and put their towels on the sunbeds so you might not get a sunbed. The best beach is icemeler beach. I really enjoyed my holiday this year i would love to go back again and i know we will next year to the same apartments. Ive been in this apartments 3 times there has been little things out of place but i found no problems at all this year. Excellent place . Abby

(My opinion might differ slightly to other reviewers, because I'm 17, so might look at things differently to adults!)
Firstly, me and my three friends thought the hotel was great- we got clean towels everyday, the room was fairly spacious, the staff were friendly. However, in my opinion, it's a better choice for groups of friends looking for a low-budget, no-frills holiday, as the rooms were basic and the hotel overall wasn't anything luxurious. Saying that, it is a good choice for families simply because of the location- it is situated in a quiet area of Marmaris, but not too far from the nightlife so you don't feel secluded!
I couldn't really make any severe complaints, but the cleanliness could've been better- although we recieved clean towels everyday and our bins were emptied daily, the floors were grubby and the painting was quite shoddy. The biggest issue in our apartment was the fact we had no shower curtain/cubicle. We overcame this though, it wasn't too bad once you got used to it!
As I said, the location of the hotel was pretty good; it only cost a lira to get to the busy city centre on a dolmus (which were every few minutes)- this was a really good point seeing as I was part of a group of 4 teenage girls, and we could easily access the nightlife! Also, once at the hotel, the noise of the nightlife is cut off, so it was beneficial for families with young children...or party-mad teenagers with hangovers!
The staff were lovely, although they do tend to shove you in the pool at every given opportunity!
I can't really comment on the entertainment, as me and my friends went out to the city centre every night, but as I could see from signs that were shown in the hotel lobby, the entertainment did look quite decent- there were plenty of Michael Jackson shows!
Overall, I would definitely visit this hotel again in future holidays to Marmaris.

The first couple of years obviously were excellent which led us to go back so many times. This July (2007) was certainly not Sayar at its best, as a lot of the reviews suggest.
However, this was because the hotel owners have no clue about running a hotel and for the first year had not hired a manager or any kind of management team!
So the complaints on this site about cleanliness, service around the pool and entertainment for this year are just. However, I really want to let people know that Sayar has not always been this way and is no longer going to be this way!
We have a friend who was working as a waiter in Sayar the first year we went there. Since 2001 he has not worked at Sayar but has worked on a cruise ship and in many expensive hotels. He was working in Marmaris this year in a hotel called Club Orient as the manager and when we visited we had an absolutely amazing time and wished that Sayar was like that!
ANYWAY, my point is, next year (2008) Basri (our friend) and some of his friends from Club Orient are to become Sayar's new management team.
He has told us they plan to completely turn Sayar Apart around and we are already looking forward to returning there next year. Under Basri's management I can absolutely guarantee anybody who wishes to have a fun-filled, memorable holiday will undoubtedly experience that.
As for waiters pushing people in the pool and trying to chat up every female in sight, please understand that it is all in good humour and will happen wherever you go in Turkey.
Being a female myself, the first year I did find it unnerving but learnt to ignore it or laugh it off. Turkish men who claim to be in love with you are just trying it on and do it to everyone. Sadly the reason for this is because a lot of English and European girls behave stupidly and make themselves appear 'cheap'.
Turkish men are very aware of this and although this cannot count for all of them a lot of them will try it on.
Other than that the Turkish are very friendly if they seem overly friendly just remember we English are obsessed with having personal space and Turkish people don't have this problem! Turkey is beautiful, hot and sunny, has great shopping and friendly people.
If you want a relaxed time, a fun time, dancing, good food and a truly memorable experience it's the place to be!

Location was good, away from the noise of the main strip(only a few minutes walk)no problems with noise, although we had a room at the back, people who were pool side experienced noise from bar,so not recomended for children.
Pool was large and very clean although some of the grates round the pool kept coming loose and my husband even put his foot through one once which could have been nasty had it been a child. Tiles around the pool very slippy.small play area in corner of gardens surrounding the pool, very out dated, and the fencing next to it had large rusty nails sticking out, very dangerous.
Entertainment very poor, consisted of a very dated magic show, belly dancer, and the staff doing a dance!Even that only happened once a week!
Most of the staff were fantastic but unfortunateley there was one bad egg whilst we were there, who spoilt the holiday really, another family had alot of problems with this guy and it spoiled the atmosphere round the pool.
Lots of problems with the card system,no cash is used in the apartments, very hard to keep track where you are with money, you topped up your card at reception,so many people were told their money had run out when it had not,yes they got it sorted out but everyone got sick of it.
We were only there two weeks and staff came and went,so you didn't get chance to get to know them properly. The food was excellent.
Safety round the pool wasn't of a high standard,a large surf board was allowed in the pool and one lady got hit on the head by it,small kids were allowed to ride on trike round the pool!!! Sometimes the staff were a bit pushy, constantly asking if you wanted a drink or eat. Some people were asked not to bring drinks round the pool that were not bought at the bar,but yet they were purchased from reception(whats the difference?)Well the differnce is they were a lot cheaper from reception!
Will not be returning.
