Ok where to start. We arrived 8th August and were booked into a Cat 6 Village room with seaview, our rooms were right at the end of Simena block (S249 & S250). The rooms are fairly basic and lacking in storage space, the wardrobes have enough hanging space but lack drawer space. They provide hangars and I am sure you could ask for more. However I had taken some spare hangers which I was glad of. There space provided for suitcases was not particularly good and we ended up having to slot suitcases alongside the couch. The step up and down was a complete pain, step down then up over the door then down again and up to the kids bed level. The beds were horrendous the most uncomfortable beds I have ever slept in. But it was very clean if not a bit dated and in need of refurbishment. All in all I would not give the village rooms more than 3* and the residence 3.5*. Space wise much better but in need of a complete refurb.
The food was plentiful and masses of choice, however we did find it got very samey and again I would not give it 4 or 5 stars. For eg you always had either chicken kebab or doner kebab (It was very tasty thought). Towards the end though I started to just opt for Steak and Jacet Potato. The deserts were not for me, I usually ended up with ice cream. As I said the food was very good and plenty of choice but definitely not 4/5*.
The pools, we went to the village once, not to be repeated. The best pool was of course the Oasis (Adult) pool which goes without saying and of course there were the occasional numbskills that bought their children. They were normally seen off either by staff or by people (mainly brits I have to say). The next best was Kids Paradise. Again pools were very clean and the kids loved it and you could usually get a nice spot on the grass under the trees.
We didn't like having to put the towels out but as a friend said, if you didn't do it then you ended up not be able to get a bed. Of course there were the greedy arrogant ones, we sat on the beach one time, there were 6 Russian in front of us, they had eight beds and five!!!! umberellas.
The entainment staff were superb (Elmar was especially nice). Can't say enough about them. My kids however whilst they enjoyed most of the kids clubs activities did not usually stay for evening entertainment.
The best restaurant of all was the Marina, you had to get there early to get a table. There was always lots of fed up looking people trying to get a table at about 8pm. Some people have said that the tables were hogged because of the free booze but my argument here is that we had to sacrifice our pool/beach time to get a table. Its there choice if they wanted to stay at the beach etc to the bitter end but then you have to accept whatever table or restaurant you can get. We ate there every night and had a table for six, however, when the kids had eaten we always gave up the end of the table as the kids were off playing whilst we watched the sunset and chatted.
The kids watched a couple of the shows which they said were very good.
My husband, son (12) and daughter (10) all did paragliding with Escape at Lykia and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I woudn't advise going the cheaper route, the rep told us that there have been 5 deaths this year alone from them.
Almost forgot to mention the steps are killer for those of us who are slightly unfit.
All in all we did enjoy the holiday and Lykia World is superb if you enjoy that sort of holiday. I guess a package holidays is just not for us. If we did have another package holiday though in the future we would go back to Lykia but in the residence.

My daughter enjoyed the kids club, especially Elmare & Kiymet!! they really love the kids. Ate breakfast at the Village Restaurant and majority of evening's went to the Marina, we did arrive about 7:15 to be able to get a table. I personally did get a bit fed up of the food towards the end, but their of plently of other restaurants to choose, at a surcharge. We did try the chinese twice, which I would really recommend, the staff were really attentive. Local wine and bear was available at meal times. If you wanted anything else you had to pay for it on your room card, which is then billed at the end of the holiday. Evening entertainment was ok, found the best performance was their gala night with the fire works.
We stayed in the Perdika block, which was quite a walk for some, but really didn't bother us, our room had an intereonnecting door to the kids, our room was nice and clean, and our bed was comfortable. We did meet other families which were unhappy with their rooms who stayed in O & L - who said were a bit dated.
Overall we had a lovely time, very busy,loads of brits, some brits just as rude as the Germans!!much quieter our 2nd week. Meet some really lovely people though!.
I recommend any trips you take you get a taxi into Olu Deniz and book with 'Bloody Georgeous' they picked us up from our hotel, and take back any water and put it in the mini fridge, much cheaper that way. Taxi return 25 lira but taxi rank just outside the gates, some people said it was cheaper going straight to be rank.
For me personally I would n't return to Lykia world unless they made this fully inclusive. With the temperature 38+ the kids were constantly wanting drinks or lollies, 300 Lira for a magnum!. There are however, water machines around.

Lykia lived up to expectations and more. We were allocated two lovely rooms in the Telmessos Block. Wonderful views, quiet and peaceful. Right opposite the Oasis Pool for adults.
I can't really add anymore than what people have already written. The food was lovely.
Only used the Marina Restaurant on two occasions at lunch time (this is when we got our only mossie bites). Also if you only want a light lunch, the chinese does Thai and Fried Noddles at lunch time. No charge.
Would I return, without a doubt.
Soft drinks are reasonably price at 1.50 euros, pint of beef was 3.75e and a large bottle of cool water from any bar was 1.25e. (oh and two double brandies 28 euros!! not for me thankfully. Cocktails from 7.00e upwards. That's all the prices I can remember.
Enjoy, if your going and book if you haven't already.

~~~First Impressions~~~
The brochure really doesn't do Lykia World justice. It really is in the most magnificent setting in landscaped gardens filled with pine trees against a stunning mountain backdrop. The mountains are lit up at night and a walk back after dark to your room in the village is lovely, something a repeat guest said she missed at she was staying at the residence this time.
Everywhere is kept spotless and even though the resort is huge, there are always sunbeds available and it never appears crowded as you would expect.
Our rooms were clean and spacious with plenty of storage space and large, well appointed bathrooms with very large, walk in showers. The views over looked the gardens and you could see the sea throught the trees in the distance. We were situated in P block which was the furthest away from the central entertainment area, about a 7 minute walk through the beautiful gardens, but it was quietest here and also nearest to the Oasis adult only pool.
~~~Meals~~~
Breakfast was served in the Village or Residence resturants, the Village being the larger of the two. We did find this extremely busy and chaotic, even though it wasn't peak season it was often difficult to get a table here so we would walk another 5 minutes to the residence where one was always available. The main problem with the Village was that all the tables were large, seating 8, so although some people were happy to share, as a family of 6 this wasn't possible for us.
There was a huge selection for breakfast - fruit, meats, cheeses, salads, soup?, cooked english, cereals, waffles, pancakes, omelettes, etc and a great selection of freshly cooked bread and pastries. You helped yourself to tea, coffee and soft drinks although fresh juices had to be paid for.
Lunch was served in the Village or Marina restaurants and again there was something for everyone - meats, fish, salads, potatoes, chips, several pasta dishes, freshly made pizza, etc and thai noodles were also available at this time in the Chinese restaurant. We kept meaning to try them but never made it unfortunately.
There was a late breakfast option and 'snack line' between 2.30-5.30pm in the Village where limited hot items, fruit, and desserts were available if you were still peckish. During lunch and dinner house wine was available by the bottle (inclusive) and you could help yourself to soft drinks and beer. There was also a midnight snack available in the village area.
Dinner could be taken in the Village and Residence restaurans and each night had a different theme in each - french, turkish, italian, fish, mexican, etc and also in the Marina restuarant which overlooked the beach and where you dined outside whilst the sun went down behind the mountains, beautiful. The menu here was international and there was loads of choice including freshly barbeques meat and fish. The Marina did get very busy though and if you arrived much after 7.30pm you were very unlikely to get a table. In fact when we were there, signs went up saying it was full and staff were not permitting you from going down to it much after 7.45pm.
The desserts were extensive and there was huge selection of fruit on offer. At lunch and dinner, ice-cream cornets was available which kept the kids well happy.
Children also had their own restaurants, one in the village for lunch and dinner and one in the children's paradise for lunch only. There was a limited 'child friendly' selection here and they could eat with the kids reps, enabling adults to have a meal on their own if they so wished.
In addition to the main restaurnats, you could visit the Italian, Chinese & Turkish restaurants for 6 euros adults, 3 euros children or fish restaurant for 10 euros adults only. You have to make a reservation and all excpet the Turkish one have set daily menus. We went to the Turkish 'Sofra' one but have to say was a little disappointed. The food was fine but we expected more entertainment than the one belly dancer that was one.
We found the food to be excellent, lots of choice for everyone, all fresh and hot.
~~~Entertainment~~~
We were impressed with the entertainment which was very profesionally done. There was different show each night in the open air ampitheatre which was on from 9.30-10.30 and sometimes another one on the village dance floor afterwards. These were various themes - turkish, hawaian, hollywood, and sundays were gala nights - not to be missed. There was a childrens disco before the nightly entertainment or the children could go along to their clubs and be entertained whilst you finished dinner. Once a week there was a show put on by the children - Nemo one week, Action heros the next, these were excellent and certainly bought a tear to your eye. The first week our 5 year old twins did Nemo and our 7 & 10 year old boys couldn't wait to particiapte the next week after seeing them. There is also live music and a disco in other areas of the resort although we did not visit these.
~~~Activities~~~
There's a huge range for everyone - the usual games around the pool, golf, archery, tennis, watersports available from the beach. There's a fitness centre and two spas, turkish baths, to name few. Children were kept very entertained in their clubs. Forget the usual drawing in a room, at Lykia they can go rock climbing, jet skiing, golf, skating, canoing, do archery, judo, play football, go on a banana boat, safari, boat trip, the list is endless. Some attract a fee but at 10 euros for jet skiing and 4 euros for the banana boat it's nothing. Our four had a fabulous time here and made lots of friends whilst trying out new activities. The kids clubs run alldays and are split into age groups 305, 6-8, 9-12 and teens and are open all day. You can sign them in as you want and ours went when the activities were something they fancied and stayed with us by the pools at other times. Some days we even managed a couple of hours on our own, what bliss!!! There was also a cinema for the children.
~~~Pools~~~
Now these are somthing else. There are loads of them dotted around but none are ever too crowded and you can always find a bed. There's the main one in the Village where all the entertainments take place and another large on in the Residence that aslo has a couple of waterslides. Then there are a couple of toddler pools in the kids club area and two adult only ones, the Oasis in the Village area having spectacular views. Only thing that marred this was the odd inconsiderate couple who insisted in taking their young child in, thankfully none were British!!
And then there is the Children's Paradise - this is truly fabuloue. Lots of pools with various slides to suit all inclding one with 5 slides for the adventurous. Also in this area is a football court and chilren's playground. We spent many days here and the children had an amazing time.
~~~The Beach~~~
The resort is situated by the beach which is very clean with plenty of beds and parasols. At the far end you can try a variety of watersports or even go paragliding from the nearby mountain, fabulous to watch too.
~~~Conclusion~~~
There are buses running around the resort that will take you to the various areas if you don't fancy the walk although you will still have to do some and there are alot of steps around the village so not suitable for the infirm. Whilst we were there, there was a heatwave with unusually high temperatures reaching 54 degrees. Despite this no-one came back burnt as there were so many shaded areas and lots of parasols available, often not the case.
We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lykia, there were many things we didn't get the chance to do and the children will be spoilt for anywhere else. I would have no hesitation recommending Lykia, especially to families and although we never return to a hotel, certainly will to this one either next year or in 2009.
We were a little disappointed with the Thomas Cook flight, very crammed, especially with a toddler on our knees!
We opted to take a private taxi from the airport, which was well worth the extra cost, and probably cut around 30-45 minutes off the coach journey.
We stayed at the Residence, and paid for a side-sea view, and had a lovely room (733) with great views over to Olu Deniz. Reception desk staff were helpful and friendly, check-in was a breeze, very quick and had our luggage taken up to our room swiftly.
Not sure where to start really - Lykia World is a great place, we had a wonderful two weeks. The first week was noticeably quieter as it was early season, but this was really nice. No trouble getting tables at the restaurants, or a spot by the pools or beach. The second week got busier, but nothing I suppose compared to July/August when I can imagine it is very very busy.
The weather was lovely, hot during the day, sunny, and cooled off nicely in the evenings. A couple of mornings/afternoons when it was cloudy but this didn't stop us doing anything.
We ate mostly at the Residence village for breakfast. Lots of choice, staff so friendly. Lunch was at the Marina mostly for us, lovely to sit out and overlook the sea - again more choice that you can imagine. Our 15 month old tried lots of different things, and was very satisfied. We had dinner mainly at the Marina again, or the Residence, which we felt had a nicer feel to it than the Village. THe Village restaurant mainly consisted of tables for 8 people, so you can imagine having to share a table in peak season if you are small family.
The pools etc were spotlessly clean, the Children's paradise was lots of fun, nice and shady for the little one, yet lots of nice loungers out on the gardens too.
The entertainment team were great - not pushy to get you involved if you didn't want to, and the shows at 9:30 in the evening in the ampitheatre were of good quality, sometimes a little cheesy!
We took a taxi into Olu Deniz. A nice place, but of course aimed at the tourists, so were happy to return back to Lykia World.
All in all, I would say that you can beat Lykia World for a really great family holiday, and even singles/couples would be happy here as there is so much (or little) to do, whatever you fancy.
The rooms in the Residence were very clean, but I think are soon ready for refubishment as they look a little dated. Overall a wonderful holiday and we will definitely return, avoiding the summer holidays if possible (not just because of the crowds, but the heat!).
Our room was in the K block in the village with interconnecting rooms it was clean and very spacious with a balcony
The food was fantastic, lots of choice to suit everyone and always something different. The marina restaurant was our favourite. We would have a leisurly meal and watch the sun go down it was lovely.
We ate in the chinese a couple of times it cost 6 euro a head and was well worth it
The entertainment was great, a show each night in the ampitheatre, over the fortnight we saw most shows which were great. The kids club 6-12years took part in a show each friday, finding nemo and superheros, these were excellent to watch and the kids had a great time.
The kids clubs were well organised with varied activities such as bowling archery tennis water sports. Some had an extra charge like banana boat parasailing etc, but not excessive.
We also went on a boat trip
Our room was excellent, very spacious and clean. The children loved the Kids Paradise and the slides were great fun - with hardly any queues ever.
The shows were brilliant and the staff were very friendly. Despite what another reviewer said, we did paragliding from a smaller operator in Olu Deniz which cost just over half what it would have done to go from Lykia. My pilot said they had done 35,000 jumps with no injuries.
We would highly recommend Lykia World.
The hotel is full board plus which means all your meals are included and red/white wine, beer, soft drinks fanta, sprite, coke, diet coke are also available at these times. The only time you pay for drinks is in the evening.
The hotel is spotless all the time, toilets always are lovely and clean and the cleaners are always in and out of them to make sure. Our room was cleaned every day and the cleaner always done something fancy with my nightie.
The hotel food was to die for. so many different varieties.
breakfast: pancakes, waffles, bacon and eggs sausages, loads of meats and cheeses, olives
lunch: chips pizza liver and onions steak pasta jacket potatoes anything you could imagine and also about 20 different desserts
dinner: as much food as lunch time
The hotel is set in its own bay with stunning views. our room was a family room k212 which was a stunning sea view. Saw the sunset every night pure luxury. The hotel is about 5 mins away from Olu Deniz.
The hotel staff are always happy to help you. We had 2 birthdays while we were there and they escorted us to our table which was covered in flowers they always make special occasions great.
Entertainment superb just like seeing the shows at London. Very glitzy. Raymond the singer was great and the acrobats well what positions they got into.(ouch).
Always something going on around the pool and around the complex. Rock climbing, childrens paradise with the water slides. Inline skating, judo, tennis, the list is endless.
We are looking to return next year. Met loads of people who have been before and keep coming back. The hotel is that big that you need to come back a second year to see it all.
The accommodation in the Village is excellent and there is lots of choice in the restaurants, lots of entertainment choice and the water park and beaches are excellent.
In previous years there were more Italians, Turkish, Russians etc although the "Brits" seem to be taking over, never a sunbed at the main pool after 7.30.
Mealtimes now seem to finish at 9pm whereas previously they were 10pm/11pm. Service at the Main Village Bar was extremely slow even to the waiters and this year they seemed to be plagued with cats and kittens hissing and screaming all night. The changes seem to be cost cutting although it is still an expensive place to visit and you will soon have a hefty bar bill.
Lykia is now in its 15th year and with all the competition from the All Inclusive set they need to really keep standards high and not let them deteriorate as they seem to be doing. We spoke to a lot of Repeaters who will not be going back next year and it didn't seem to be full this time!
All said our daughter still thinks it is the best place in the world for a holiday and she would be happy to go back there anytime and that is half the battle.
Stayed there with family for 14 days end July/early August 2006 in a family room in Village side. Found the village overall to be of a good standard. The hotel is fairly extensive with plenty of places to eat/drink - we ate mostly at the main restaurant which suited us best - good varied food, efficient service. First class buffet breakfast with something for everyone.
The village setting is superb with an easy stroll to the beach. Being a stiff Englishman and having read the previous reports re the friendly staff who know your name, I was a bit concerned this aspect might be overbearing - but not so. As is typical of the Turkish people our kids had loads of attention and there is a genuine warmth in relation to children (particularly toddlers).
Lots of activities going on such as you can try out a scuba dive, sailing, paragliding.
As for the accommodation our room was first class, spacious and comfortable.
The location is away from the main 'touristy' parts of the main resort but the hotel lays on reasonably priced taxi services to Olu Deniz, Hisaronu or Fethiye town. I suggest if you need a taxi, don't use the hotel cars as you pay international prices. Best to stroll out and get one outside.
Interestingly the hotel appears to attract a fair amount of repeat visitors, so I guess that's a good sign. We would be quite happy going back there if ever we are in Turkey in the future.
