On our arrival at the hotel we were greeted by 4 friendly members of male staff at the hotel, we were checked through quickly and taken to our rooms, to our suprise they were all seperated, one was a double on the top floor which was a lovely room with pool views, the other two rooms were ground floor, one double and twin, the twin was satisfactory but not what we had asked for as it was on the ground floor, the double was not suitable and it was two friends sharing not a couple. When we returned to the reception we explained that we had confirmation of the 3 top floor rooms, to which we were told there was nothing they could do we were given the best available and Thompson who had confirmed the rooms did not communicate with the hotel. The staff however were very helpful and the double room was moved to another block however the room was very dark and the balcony was on the main road so quite loud and dark. The one dark room was eventually changed by the hotel staff and they were very helpful.
The cleanliness of the rooms in general were satisfactory, the bathroom needed some attention with mouldy grout within the tiles, however the cleaners attended to the rooms daily and remaid the bed and moped the floor & 'flushed' the entire bathroom. The sheets were changed every 3 days.
The Breakfast was a Turkish Breakfast with a selection of olives, boiled eggs, cucumber, tomatoes, cheese, and potatoes/ cold cheese rolls, there was a large amount of daily fresh bread with assorted jams and butter.
The staff at the hotel were extremely helpful, amusing, and friendly, saying hello to individual families everyday.
With regards to the entertainment in the evening it was very little, there was a BBQ which was very nice and highly recommended with a bellydancer, but it would have been nice to had stretched it out over the whole night as it only lasted 2 1/2 hours and you couldn't really make an evening of it. The other evenings at the hotel was football and music, maybe a Karaoke once a night would draw in more of a crowd and would be an ideal eye-catcher. Maybe a Happy-hour at the hotel would keep the guests from going elsewhere before going out for dinner. We tended to meet a the Lemon Tree which was opposite but purely because it was happy hour and half the price of the Magic Tulip.
Overall, because of the attentiveness of the staff, I would visit this hotel again.

Coming back to the Tulip was really good. This time arriving mid-afternoon. Although our rooms weren't quite ready we were remembered from last year and greeted with a welcomingly free ice cold Efes beer. 10 mins later we were in our room.
Not much in the hotel had changed from last year except that the rooms had probably been decorated because they all seemed lighter this time.
This was the first time ever we have come back to the same resort and hotel and we all agree that it was a much more relaxing time...there was no rushing around to fit all trips and visits in. We braved the Turkish Bath this time (off the beach front attached to the entrance of another hotel) and boy, it was so good we went back for another one the following week.
The Maids in the hotel were the same girls as last year...very friendly with clean linen and towels every single day. Flowers on our bed too. All the staff from Mum and Dad to Ahmed the manager were very friendly and made our time here even better than last year.
We actually went Halfboard this time and we have to say that as well as saving a fortune on not having to go out to eat in "British styled" restaurants, the evening meals were authentically Turkish (not a burger in sight!), freshly cooked and plenty of it. Definately worth the few pounds it actually cost and a perfect finish to the excellent Turkish breakfast at the start of the day.
As said in other reviews there isn't much evening activity in the Tulip, however the Turkish nite plus BBQ was good as ever. This we think is to their credit as if you want to escape from the loud music or english crowds you can do this in the Tulip.
We also actually liked the fact that, other than the Football on the TV almost every other night ('cos the new season had just begun), it was very peaceful sitting and eating around the pool at night. (Which for us overall deserves a 5)
If you want more things to do (like Karaoke etc), you can always go into other hotels (as most are open to non-residents in the evening) or into the main street two minutes away.
We still had a fully packed 2 weeks with more diving in Fethiye and a 2 day trip to Ephesus and Pamukkale being the highlight (Very cheap for what you visit but very tiring via coach). We have still to visit Butterfly Cove or go on the 12 Island cruise, as well as a lot of other things, so guess what...we are going back to the Magic Tulip Hotel in 2008 again...!
The thing we have learnt is that with a comfortable hotel like the Magic Tulip and with the owners and their family running it, your experience of Turkey will be second to none and provide a great secure base to explore further-a-field from. They are a family we trust and respect.

The breakfast was substantial although not a "`full English" mainly eggs cheese cold meats melon and jams with plenty of bread.
The hotel staff were very friendly, especially Ahmed the Manager excellent English. Olu deniz is a very small purpose built town with plenty of restaurants and shops selling fake goods.
There are no locals living in this resort. Not for the traveller that requires more than a two street town. The beaches are lovely albeit sand with stones at waters edge, we bought some shoes designed for this at the shops and never struggled to venture in and swim again.
The Lagoon area is best for children with gently shelving waters. The Magic Tulip has a Turkish night once a week with traditional belly dancer that involves everyone very good night the food was excellent well worth staying around the hotel that night.
The Magic Tulip has a sister hotel called the Tulip Hotel a bit nearer the beach we used to go for a beer there on our way back from the beach.
The staff especially Eren? the manager was especially friendly as was Jochan and Jack. We would definitely stay at this hotel again our room overlooked the main entrance so we had a very good view, although there are basement rooms which I would imagine wouldn`t have any views - the luck of the draw I imagine!

Our first experience of the hotel was actually a poor one. After arriving at 2200hrs, we were put into a basement room away from the main block. It was awful and smelt terribly of damp. The shower wouldn't drain away and by the morning our clothes stank of damp and we were preparing to go straight to our Rep.
The problem causing this was due to overbooking of sorts. Because of the flight times midweek, the hotel allows you (for a small charge) to stay in your room for your last day if you wish prior to the coaches turning up. As a result our room wasn't ready.
However in the morning, the excellent staff moved us to a lovely room on the first floor and we started our holiday properly.
Breakfast was varied and lovely and the bar meals available were excellent aounr the clean and well sized pool.
The midweek Turkish night was fantastic with the belly dancer getting all of us involved! In fact we are returning in 2007!

The rooms were cleaned every day we were there to a high standard.
The staff were all very welcoming and friendly and was made nicer as it is a family business.
The hotel was only about a 5 min walk from the main beach and about 10 mins to the lagoon. I would recommend the hotel.

Lovely room which was always very clean and a nice sixed balcony. The hotel itself is just off the main road of Olu Deniz yet quiet enough at night to sleep.
The pool and bar area were lovely with lots to do and a good selection of snacks and drinks. The staff were fantastic. Many hours spent laughing with them at the bar.
The breakfast was typically Turkish with cheeses and meat, bread, olives, fruit and eggs.
All in all we really enjoyed our stay there and if we ever go back to Olu Deniz we will definitely stay in the magic tulip!!

The rooms are kept very clean with fresh towels couldn't fault them, good size plenty of wardrobe space and dressing table. The balcony was small just room for two chairs. The pool area is small but never over busy, the bar is good and snacks and meals served.
Breakfast is served by the pool and is a turkish buffet but ample selection including eggs either scambled or hard boiled. English breakfast at a supplement. Staff all very helpful and friendly.

We only stayed a week but did not want to go home. I am going back again 29th September on my own. I liked it that much. The family that run this hotel are great and so happy to help, whatever you ask of them. The food was fantastic for a small hotel. Hats off to the chef x
There is a bar / restaurant called Peppino's just down the road you really must visit.
