Hisaronu is a nice resort with plenty of bars and restaurants. The turkish barbour with the budgies remembers all previous visitors. He does a fab turkish shave for a fiver. There isn't a beach at Hisaronu but the beach at Ole Deniz is about 10 minutes away and it is beautiful. We will definately be back.

Turkey is a very clean country. Every where you go, people are clearing the streets of bits of litter, unlike many places I have been.
There are lots of shops, good restaurants and drinking venues to keep you entertained till the early hours of the morning. Even the shops are still open at midnight. A dolmus is a cheap, quick way to get to Hisaronu and they run reqularly until about 1am.
The beach is amazing, as is the blue lagoon. Crystal clear warm water, comfy sun beds and friendly staff. One of the most photographed beaches, so it says it all really. Lots to do for the energetic too including micro lites, parasailing and water sports.

the hotel was situated in the hills wich was a little cooler than the beech...it was about a 10/15 min walk into the resort centre hisaronu. Which consisted of bars restaurants and shops...open till the early hours....although most things have gone up.. it was still pretty cheap for our family meals... the beech at olu-deize is absolutley breath taking....the sun loungers and parasols were 5trl each so it could work out expensive for a large family to vsist the beech but worth it...

The area seems much the same as other hot countries with scrub and rubble surrounding well kept villas and the seemingly obligatory empty plastic water bottles and plastic bags stuffed with, god knows what, scattered at the roadside.
Hisonaru town seemed quite tidy. It's a lively town with a multitude of restaurants and bars mixed in with souvenir shops, clothing shops, shops selling 'genuine fake' watches and some quite upmarket jewellers. It's noisy with thumping music blaring from 'cocktail' bars with the usual touts inviting you 'eat here' or 'come inside' the shops.
It's certainly colourful and quite interesting to walk down the main street and look at the seemingly endless chain of shops.
People everywhere are friendly and good natured. Even those sitting in their gardens will wave as you pass by.
We took a trip to the hotel's part of Olu Denize beach on the hotel shuttle(one trip 10am till 3pm). Nothing special. Fine 'gravel type' sand and you have to pay 5 lira for the sunbed.
We left via Dalaman airport and the price of food and drink there was hard to believe. Cup of coffee £4, Cup of tea £3, Portion of chips from McDonalds £3.50, Coke £4 well, you get the picture, right.
Strange mixture, Turkey. I think I'll try Bulgaria next time.

The hotel I stayed at was in Ovacik. It is a fairly quite resort, but an ideal base to reach Hisaronu, Olu Deniz and Fethiye. All these resorts are a short bus or taxi ride away.
All in all, it is an ideal base if you fancy a bit of quiet, but also want to be in easy reach of some of the more lively resorts.

Not a bad resort. Thankfully not yet overun with Eastern European Rambos walking around with their chests sticking out pretending they are in the South of France.
A bit of a steep hill and very very steep kerbs if you have mobility issues. good selection of restaurants and shops but the prices have crept up to pretty much what we would pay in the UK now for a lot of stuff. (Somebody needs to tell the Turks this lol).
