Oh one more thing you said it got busier on your second week did you find the food quality, food temp or service suffered? Its just you mentioned you wouldnt like to go peak season and thats when i go....Aug3rd.
Vicky
Just read your review in the review section.....oh it sounds fab im with you on the food i never get why people go abroad to maon there isnt enough english food?!?!?
Thanks for posting the review the more i read the more excited i get.

My little ones love the the beach and sea but the one thing putting me off booking again (we've booked before but cancelled due to the bad reviews) is the beach/sea in front of the hotel being unsafe to swim in.
The beach is the beat part of my boys holiday. They'd happliy stay there all day
I'm very tempted to book again because of the fantastic reviews so far this season and if there is a beach not to far away that is very safe to swim in with no currents then we wouldn't mind getting a taxi there.
The beach at Sarigerme looked safe enough, we only kind of went through it, but it didn't seem to slope quite as badly as the beach at the hotel, although it was still pretty choppy. A good windsurfing beach! Lovely though and I would quite happily have spent all day there. For an absolutely stunning day out at the beach you could get the dolmus to Ortaca, another dolmus to Dalyan and then the water taxi to Turtle beach which is STUNNING!
Vicky, my little fella is almost four so he was in the Sylvester Club (3-5) they did things like sweetie bingo, chocolate party, a cinema evening, animal safari things like that and he REALLY enjoyed it But I know they did the same thing the following week again which older kids may have found repetitive. Cameron loved it though. We paid almost every second night, I mostly paid in Sterling as I had a load of pound coins with me but you could pay in Lira (5.5) or Euros too.

We never ventured to another beach other than Turtle beach on the Mud bath trip but others have said there is a very nice beach just a Taxi ride away....
Haffendenfamily, we went last 2 weeks of July last year and it was very HOT...we found that if we went to lunch about noon then back to our rooms for a rest from the sun till about 3pm it was more bearable.
Also for every one interested we took a couple of tins of 'Raid' flying insect spray (blue tin) and we sprayed our room every night before we went to dinner and again when we got back... we made certain to spray it into the Air Con vents ... and we never got one bite in the room...we also used Boots own Mozzi repellent, 50% DEET (silver tin) and between us we only got a few bites though they were out in force....litlle devils

my little fella is only 3 and hes never been bitten in the past, but idont want to risk it.
ive also been and got some ear plugs as per someone suggestion yesterday.
thanks scottishmum for the info on the 3-5 year old evening club as i was wondering what he would be doing.
What type of things do they do during the day? do they keep them out of the sun?
did anyone book swimming lessons for their kids? we have and i'm not sure how its going to work out, will he be okay at his age (3) we go swimming together, but 1 on 1 is different to an instructor led lesson, should we go with him?
do thye use plastic beakers to serve beer in at the bars? might seem like an odd question, but i like shandy when i'm away and when we have been AI before theyve always struggled in plastic beakers.
Glad to see the reviews are very positve and that everyone has had a great holiday so far - long may it continue.
Anyone else going out at the same time?
We also go on 26 June for two weeks. We have two girls 9 and 2.
If you follow the thread back a few pages there is some advice on how much money to take and what currency. I think either Lira or sterling was the suggested currency.
In terms of how much money you need I guess that really depends on whether you will be venturing out on trips etc or buying drinks that are not AI or shopping.
Although I understand you can pay for trips on credit card.
Less than four weeks to go now and with all the positive comments from those that have been I have got to say I can't wait!
We went for two weeks and spent about £1000 BUT we had, three teenagers and one 9 year old as well as my sisters four so they spent quite alot on clothes and the rest went in the pool and bowling room, all the boys did the soccer school and a few other paid activities.
We also spoke to other people who hadnt spent a penny on anything, dont no how they did it unless my kids are just more demanding.
The only thing you did need lira for was the dolmus bus into Ortaca, which is 2.5 lira each way, the drivers didnt speak English but they most definatley didnt take Sterling.
Hope this helps.

The bad bits.....
The mozzies took an instant liking to me and despite using exactly the same as my husband and 2 kids I got bitten about 60 times! I reacted badly to them as well like someone else posted on here but I had not been given any antibiotics for an ear infection. They were huge, very swollen, burning and incredibly itchy. I saw the doctore twice for them and went straight to the doctors room and did not pay a consultation fee. Medication was 10 lira for the first and 12 lira for the second which was antibiotics.
I know everyone has said the food was great, but do be careful. We went to the Turkish restaurant and my 5 year old son's starter was served frozen in the middle!!! Also, you had to check the chicken kebabs on skewers as on a few occasions the chicken was raw in between each piece.
Our son got quite a deep cut on his arm from one of the tiles on the edge of the main pool and the rep said they would get someone from maintenance to sort the tile straight away but it was still the same when we came home.
There were a few other little things that annoyed us but nothing that would spoil your holiday.
Now for some good bits.....
Swim kids. My 5 year old did this and absoloutely loved it. He had 5 lessons which we had pre-booked and 1 private lesson which we booked in resort which cost £15. Before we went he could not swim at all but on our last night, he was presented with his certificate and badge for getting his 5 meters on his back and front! There are 2 girls that do the lessons, Danielle and Lauren. He had Danielle for 1 lesson and didn't really do much but the others were all with Lauren and she was fantastic! He didn't want to finish his lessons because he loved Lauren to bits, so I would really recommend you to try and get your little ones in with her.
Soccer school. This was definately worth the money and both our kids thought that it was great (boy 5 & girl 10). The lads who run the soccer school - David, Danny and Jay are great with the kids and give them loads of praise along with a little ribbing over their bad choice in football tops! I would advise to book the 4 days, as they do different skills at each session. They are on from 10-12. On the first training session they are given a soccer school t-shirt and on the last night they go on stage to get their certificate and group photo. If you go, tell the soccer school lads that Jaz and Connor say hi!
Kids clubs. Connor was in sylvesters 3-5 and Jaz was in wavelength 9-11. They both loved going to kids club and Connor is nearly 6 and didn't find it too young for him. Their fave sessions were the evening ones 9-11pm and towards the end of our hol, we ended up doing what someone else had suggested where we would leave the mini disco at 8.45pm one of us would take Jaz to wavelength and the other would take Connor to Sylvesters to ensure they got in. My only complaint with kids clubs was that for most of the evening sessions you had to pay £2. This was not a problem, but the price in lira kept on changing and on our last night it had gone up to 6.5 lira. You are so much better off taking £1 or £2 coins to pay for kids club as by the end of two weeks you will have wasted quite a bit of money paying in lira.
Staff. The turkish staff were all absoloutely fantastic and I am sorry to say that there are people without manners who have gone out there this year as well! Is it really too much to say please and thank you?
Well that'll do me for now, but I'm happy to help with any questions.
Emma.
P.S. sorry we missed you scottishmum! Connor said he made friends with a Cameron in kids club though!
Really looking forward to going now that all the positive reports are fitering through - looks like first choice have sorted the majority of the problems out.
Any info on the birthday cake will be appreciated.
Hi keitha, while we were there a fortnight since, oh my god it feels like a lifetime ago now, tans faded and back doing too many hours a week at work. Getting back to the point, it was my daughters 15th birthday, I went to customer services and booked in to the Italian (dont order the salmon for starters unless you like sushi), and the lady at customer services booked me a cake, it cost me about 96 lira which sounds alot but it was actually £3 per head and there was 12 of us. The cake was mouth watering, it came out with Happy 15th birthday Amy, which I asked for and they had sparklers all around it so no need for all the candles. Customer services is a little desk at the side of reception you cant miss it.
Thanks for the info regarding the cake.
Apart from the salmon would you recommend the Italian - 2 of my 4 kids are fussy about what they eat but would probably eat spag bol if that was on offer in the italian
Does anyone know if there are power points near the main bed in the kids den suite?
Thanks for your review im a little concerned now about raw meat....dont fancy having to inspect every mouth full of food we eat for 2 weeks
But you still sound like you had a good time.
I am pre booking the soccer school was only going to do 2days then book the other 2out there if he wanted to do it but on your advice i will just book the 4days now....i want to pre book as much as is can so i dont need to take as much extra money, do they do it 4 consecutive days? or any 4days?
Also what activities did your 5yr old do at club during the day?
I have a 5 nearly 6yr old.
Thanks Vicky
Hi Keitha, the Italian restaurant really looked after us, but thats the only one we tried the asian looked really nice, the food in the Italian isnt what you would get at home, the spagetti bolognase was just spagetti with a little sauce mixed in, the salad was just green leaves but it all tasted lovely reguardless.
When we go to PP in July/Aug this year, we have night time flights, therefore will not depart the hotel until midnight on our last day.
Has anyone got any tips regarding what to do? Does the hotel accomodate this? Do we need to check with the Travel Agent or deal with the hotel direct?
Any help on this would be much appreciated. Thanks.
Sue
hi, i am staying at the Pegasos Palace at the moment and feel I need to warn anyone who has booked a kids den. The brochure states that the kids den will have a tv and a playstation 2. This is not the case. When we arrived and was on the coach transfer we were given a letter to inform us the playstation 2 will be delivered to our room the next day between 5-6. You cannot have it on the day of arrival if you arrive after 8pm as they are locked away, but they still charge you the supplement. Anyway not too bothered. Next day waited for an hour in the room for this darn playstation, never arrived, had to chase. Then it arrives and it is just given to you in a box for you to wire up yourself! We then asked if there would be a tv in the kids den for the playstation, the reply was 'no' we had to use the tv in the room. We were told 'the brochure is worded wrong'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and we cannot have an extra tv regardless of the brochure wording. We refused the playstation and asked to be moved to a family room and refunded our 224.00 supplement. The family room is exactly the same size and shape as the kids den. The only difference is a bugs bunny border with 4 pictures and sheets with small loony tunes applique. Told they cannot move us as the hotel is at full capacity. Our room overlooks the building site - lovely :). The sunbeds are soo cramped together as the hotel is at full capacity, its not pleasant. Oh well. we are hoping it will get better.
hi all, some great reviews and some very good advice. I would like to thank you all for posting them. We are off to PP end of July. I know this may sound a strange question but all other AI hotels we have been too have a pool/beach towel service so you do not need to take your own, is this the case with PP? Only advice I have to offer at the moment is for the mozzies, we have found the aftersun with mozzie reppelant works well and has no smell.
Re the kids den, we have also booked one and i just phoned first choice who tried to convince me that I was reading the brochure wrong! They went away and came back to tell me they are phoning through to the resort office to find out and ringing me back tomorrow - we will have to wait and see. She said it may have just been a one off. Can I ask if the family rooms still have a separate sleeping area that is separate to the lounge and does it have proper beds? Has anyone had a jacuzzi or select room - can they tell me what that was like.
