hi everyone, just got the april - october 2006 first choice broucher and there is a small map of the p/p and p/t in it which tells you where most things are ( i think) i'm going to cut it out and take it with me only one and a half weeks to go .thanks to everyone using this site its been a great help
Hi Johngibbo33, Yes their are mozzie nets on the doors leading to the balcony, you just slide it across from the outside, the only place we had mozzies was our bathrooom we sprayed them with mozzie spray and it still did not kill them (jungula extra strength) its as through they are immune to the spray, in total my husband got bit the most 12 bites in all, i got bitten 3 times and my children did not get bitten at all, but on the way home on the plane i got bitten twice and they where really bad bites, so put you spray on at the airport as well, hope you have a fantastic time as we did, dont let the people who have no manners at all spoil it for you as you get them sort of people where ever you go, i have been on 9 AI now and you meet some nice people and you can also meet some real rif raf who cannot get enough drink up till midnight. Good Luck
we will be staying well away from riff raff beleive me, we always go AI and have always met really nice people. i've also bought every jungle cream/spray/etc i could think of so hope it works.
hi the windows also have nets on so you can have them open at night if you want...we slept on our sofa bed a few nights and had the patio door open half way,was lovely and cool...
Any other items anyone would reccommend, i would be grateful.
Can't wait now, just getting last few things together
Thanks for help.
How can I pay deposit for PS2, trips booked at hotel and trips booked in village.
The last two evenings we had to go in the indoor dining room, because the flies were swarming everywhere outside.
There was one night where the serving counter by the hot food in the indoor downstairs restaurant at the palace was absolutely crawling with flies, it was really stomach churning, we ate out in the town that night! They really must get the fly/mossie situation under control before the start of next season. It totally put me of which is one of the reasons why we wouldn't go back, even tho' we had a fabulous time
I feel sure that I have read it that FC are going to insist that Insectocuters (the tube things that zap them) are installed throughout the complex. I agree it really needs doing, the worst area that I saw for flies was actually in the lobby bar at the Tropical. Lots of people actually sat there at night armed with tins of fly spray but it didn't seem to affect the quantity of flies much. some nights it was crawling with them. Also, the mozzie situation seems from recent postings to have got worse not better. I think this is partly caused to the damper cooler conditions because in August whilst it wasn't great, I didn't see a lot of people with more than a couple of bites (including us) not like some of the recent reports where some have had 50+ bites.
There was no insurance certificate with the tickets, I queried this with FC who said that the original invoice is the insurance certificate ??
This does'nt sound right to me, can anyone who took travel insurance with FC when they originally booked confirm ?
Thanks
When we went we booked through an agent to go with FC and were given an insurance booklet which outlines what you are insured for. It certainly doesn't sound right to me relying on a piece of paper. We in the past mislaid our book and went to the travel agent we booked with and they issues us another one.
I have that booklet but was expecting a certificate of insurance, thanks Carrie
your insurance is the peice of paper that you get when you book your insurance with fc it names all the people in your party that are going ,i just had to send mine off to claim my money back for a doctors fees, and you get a booklet with all different phone numbers on it.
just an update on the mossie situation at the palace, we've been back 4 days - loved it - and although we have about 50 bites between the 5 of us, we took antihistamines and used deterrents/repellants (nothing works) and had thought we'd escaped any bad reactions however, my husband forgot to take an antihistamine yesterday and his bites are huge and swollen now and one ankle is about twice the size it normally is. the moral being never ever go without deterrent - even on the plane and as soon as you touch down in turkey lather yourselves up - take it in your hand luggage - and take antihistamines as my husband with one day without them looks like elephant man!
forewarned is forearmed so to speak!
other than that have a great time we did!
When you take the tour operators insurance, the proof of you being insured with them is as they say, on the confirmation invoice. The booklet they have sent out for you should explain everything you are and are not insured for, it should also tell you what (if any) the excess is. Most importantly, it should tell you the emergency contact telephone number.
It seems the Pegasus palace is improving, except for the flies in the restaurant and slightly dodgy food from time to time
At least you get great weather and lovley pools
It will be really strange on here soon as the end of the season is only weeks away then it will be next April/May before the next guests travel out. What will we all do??
Nice to hear DEANO is still out there!! what a great guy!! my kids loved him.
Hey!!! Bellingham,
Glad to hear you had a great time,
Theberrybrooks
Ive been back since 5th August, but I still log on nearly every day to check up on the latest gossip.
You're right, what will we all do at the end of October!!!
Its sad really, but i find this forum really addictive, it has been great entertainment, since February when I joined, the ups and the many downs!!!!
I will definately still look in from time to time, and especially when the new season starts, as it will be very interesting to see what changes they put in place for next year, mainly food, entertainment, dress codes etc.
i will have fond memories of our holiday there, we had a great time, yes somethings were not perfect, but i have yet to have the perfect holiday. Does it exist?? I think not!!
We would love to return in 3/4 years time when it is then an established hotel, and say to others, we were some of the first guests to stay here, and lived to tell the tale!!!
To all who have been.... I am raising a glass to you all now (not that wine from the bar tho') .. Cheers.
For those about to travel, you lucky lucky people, you will have a great time. A large Raki & sprite, and a sing at the pool bar with Debbi & Larry, what a great holiday.
HiAll, I will be watching the HV in Kos Forum as we might be going thier in 2007, i said i would never go to a new build again the first year it is built. my children want to go back to the PP, but it all depends on if FC do improve the beach and add some more activities, my son wants to take a friend with him next time, my nieghbour has been to the resort where they are now building the Kos HV, so good luck to those who are due to go and to the people who are going next year, really you have nothing to worry about the hotel if fantastic.
Hi all. Just got back from the palace a few hours ago. I'll post a review later on. Any questions please feel free to ask. We stayed in a family room with a kids den and we stayed for 2 weeks.
