Hayley/John apparently Mustafa said you were getting on the jeep safari while we were going to the mud baths sorry we didn't find you. Didn't find you either Abi nor the Hargreaves. Hi to the Colridge clan who we did find. Will be writing a review for you all in the next few days.

The computer playing up posted 3 times sorry
we spent very little money, apart from the trip we went on and even that was only £90 for 7 of us with Mustafa. Otherwise I think we spent around £60 during the week and that included some lovely towels from the market. The 5 kids had their own spending money, and spent about £45 each, the boys on game boy games, snorkels etc, and the girls on clothes
a few people much earlier on this forum had talked about spending quite scary amounts of money, and i really don't know what they found to spend it on
My family and I have a holiday booked to the Palace on 31 Aug 06. I would like to ask anyone who has already been the following advice:
1. What type/shape of plug sockets do they have there?
2. Do they sell British cigarettes at either the hotel and/or in Sarigarme?
3. Is it worth taking our own towels to the resort? I have read the hotel supply them but don't know how quickly they run out, if ever.
4. Does the local mosquito repellent they sell in the hotel shop (sin kov?) work sufficiently?
Many thanks in advance for any answers.
Regards,
Ian
Sorry for my boob. When I asked does the hotel supply towels, I meant of course for around the pools.
Cheers again,
Ian
plugs are the round 3 pin ones
cigarettes, yes you can get them in hotel or in sarigerme
towels - we took some of our own, the towel hut isn't open first thing in the morning, it opened at either 9.30 or 10, we often wanted to swim earlier than that. Also it is useful if you are going on a trip that includes a beach stop to have your own towels. However we also bought some lovely big bath/beach towels in sarigerme market, we paid £10 for 2, don't know if we could have haggled a lower price, but they are well worth that amount.
sin kov worked better than some other mosquito repellents, but i used avon skin so soft, soft and fresh body souffle instead of an actual repellent and i was the only one of my family not to get bitten, a lot of people say to get the dry oil spray from the same range.
hope this helps
Does anyone know if the internet access computers in the resort, can you upload photos to a pen storage drive? i.e has it got USB ports? I wonder as I would like to offload some of the photos from my memory card so I can keep filling it up.
Had a super time will post report tomorrow when I get time. Feel free to ask any questions if you have yet to go . will reply tomorrow.
We are due to go on the 28th aug. we also have been buying thigs for mossie bites. we got some of the avon dry oil spray. hope it works. thanks for letting me know about cigs. in turkey itself, do they only sell their own brands? do you think it best to buy them from the airport when we get there?
I feel alot happier now, i did asume £500 would be enough as we are not really planning any trip due to kids ect all we want to do is go to the market on day(find out the day first LOL), so we should have plenty.
Thanks
vikki xx
Towel hut opens at 9 but you should go as early as possible because they do run out quickly, sometimes they have a second lot delivered but don't bank on it. We took beach towels just in case and as someone else said for the trips. There are a load of shaded areas and lots of parasols and nearly every bed has a mattress on, I think from what people have said before about not being enough mattresses Iberostar have increased them because we never had a problem and there was 9 in our party. The Tables being cleaned are a nightmare you do need to ask them to clean the tables for you breakfast and dinner, but as soon as you ask they do do it. They started to pick up in our second week because they got more staff then another thousand people turned up and it was back to square one so hopefully this will teach them to get more staff for the future. All though it opened a year ago Iberostar need to learn how it runs so it is like a new hotel to them. Always clean everywhere else in the hotel and grounds. The rooms were cleaned daily. The Indian restaurant the tropical side you would wait a good hour and a half for your food, the kids ended up going to the buffet and bringing food down while we waited for our dinner to arrive. The Palace side they didn't seem to wait that long for there food. In the Italian don't have the spaghetti bolognese unless you like spaghetti with drained tomato juice and a tiny bit of mince, my hubby asked for Pizza after his cos he was still starving. Definitely recommend the soccer school it was well worth the money.
omg, i am so sorry, of course it is 2 pin plugs, why on earth did i say 3. All i can say is that i have a lot of bad family stuff going on and my mind isn't functioning properly. I feel so stupid and hope that nobody rushed out to buy 3 pin plugs on my recommendation. sorry sorry sorry
we arrived back this morning from the p/p, we had a fantastic holiday and really did'nt want to come home. i met up with vicky06 while we were there and she's having a great time too. for those who are about to go i wish i was going with you your going to have a great time
all inclusive is till 1am at the royal pool bar (the near the bridge) the entertainment is good there. mozzies are bad but sin kov is good.
if anyone wants to ask me anything i'll try my best to answer and i'll post a full review when i have more time.
for anyone that is interested in judo/kickboxing/karate they do some good classes at the tropical that 2 of my kids did and the intructors are fantastic i highly recommend it. happy hols everyone
Hi am off to pp on 18th Sept, flyin from Luton, anybody else goin at that time,if so c u at the bar
Dose any one know if the kiddies clubs do swimming lessons?
there is a separate thing called swim kids, two of my girls did it and it was £30 for five half hour lessons, they really enjoyed it, their swim instructor was called danielle and she was great, at the end they get a certificate and swim badge presented to them in the ampithetre. you can pre-book in england and it might be slightly cheaper booking it here i think. oh also when they start the lessons they get a swim kids bag and bandana
Its not british fags they sell in turkey, they are branded british names but are fakes and taste like camel poop!! Really would advice buying british brand on plane over where you can get 400 for £24 - bargain!!
Hi Hayley and John, I think I saw you at the airport this morning, East Midlands, I think I sat next to you on the transfer bus to the terminal but wasn't quite sure and didn't want to make a fool of myself just in case it wasn't you.
Hi the Wilsons, it was me waiting for jeep safari when Mustafa told you.... but you looked hurried so i didn't come across, but then I didn't see you again. The complex was so big.
For anybody who is going to Tropical or Palace, I can recommened Sarigerme tours, Mustafa and Eyup are found there, they are sound guys, A1, they will take you on fantastic tours at a fraction of the ocst of FC, whilst being more informative. They also like to keep the numbers down, so that the tours do not become overcrowded, which is great from families and makes for a fantastic day.
