Hi, Mutley Crew people are not moaning, to me everyone has differant expectations, i think that their was some good points at the PP and also some really bad points, i believe you should just make the most of a bad thing and dont go to another new build again, not knowing what its like before you go, we will have to see if they improve the food next year and lets hope they do something with the beach as i think thats is one of the really bad points of the PP, i also think that the hotel; and FC should try and introduce some sort of code of conduct, from what me and my family saw we have been on a total of 12 holidays most of them AI, but never seen anything like the conduct of some of the people who was at the pp, i would go to another HV again, but i think FC should do something about the food budget they give to all the hotels they own. :wave

I believe that the food quality was improving towards the end of the season and that it should get much better next year which would solve a big gripe of a lot of people.

The beach, that could be more difficult as it is protected by the government and tbh I didn't go for the beach but appreciate there were some who do.

I think the HV concept is great overall and would not hesitate to go on one again and with FC (who appear to be the only tour operator doing such a thing). But FC don't own any hotels, much like most tour operators.

Code of conduct, whilst a nice idea, would be very hard to get anyone to sign up to and even harder to enforce, so it would be a no go - people just need to have common sense when on holiday..........

so you think I am just moaning to claim compensation am I?... you know that for a fact do you?

Before you start shouting your mouth in the wrong direction, I haven't claimed compenstion i am just posting a review of what i found the place to be like if you don't like it then DON'T LOOK...

If you want a second class holiday then be my guest but we personally prefer a bit more class when we go away, and that means not sitting on wet chairs eating our evening meal with bikini clad bimbo's beside us and kids using such fould laungage it would make your hair curl...but there again i should stop moaning :!:

I say I say I say ....... it's been a fair few months since I offered any opinion about this hotel, but I think I shall do so once again, just to keep things cooking over. I went to the PP for the last two weeks of September, and whilst I may never go again, I must say I had a thoroughly wonderful time. Yes the food could have been a little more suited to my tastes, but overall it quite accepatable. I never ever went hungry, and there was a fair selection of dishes. The salads were fabulous. We did see some rowdy behaviour of some holiday makers, who were obviouslt not used to travelling further that sunny Spain. One cannot legislate for that, you just have to ignore the oiks and rise above it all. The entertainment at the poolside bar was very very good. A good duo who would play anything you asked, and even invited people to sing with them. I did myself on several occasions. Now as for people, who may consider compensation for their holiday not being what they expected, it really is a poor show that you cannot accept responsibility for your shortcomings when choosing a holiday at a "new build complex".
As I have pointed out I made the best of my holiday, by making allowances for the shortcomings of others, try it .... it works.
PS I have chosen to book with First Choice again for next year, a reputable company, with first class attitudes (in my experience). Thank you.

Hi Elmo, Did you know when you book a holiday with any TO you are already in a legal binding code of conduct contact as it states at the back of every TOs brouchre its just up to the hotel and reps to inforce it has i have alrady seen on other holidays people warnded by the hotel manager and reps, i think the big problem was the night time entertainment for adults and any child over 10,.my son who is 17 was very bored at night due to the entertanment bieng very poor and could not get into the night club as he was to young, si i think thats something else fc need to address, as for the food we only had problems ion two occasions where we throught the food was very poor quality, thats why i think FC should allocate more money for their food budget. :wave

hi, we were there at the end of september and like elmo had a brilliant time, i do agree that some other families spoilt it especially a very large 'cockney' sounding party who appeared to take over one whole section of the main pool, their children were swearing and throwing glasses into the pool and generally behaving badly but the parents didn't seem to care. after a few hours we moved to a different pool and left the 'eastenders' - as my husband called them to their own devices. it is sad that some people don't consider other people's enjoyment on a holiday but that happens everywhere and the good thing about pp was that you could move to another pool.

as for the evening entertainment we found enough to keep us occupied by visiting the tropical as well, (karaoke bar had a good atmosphere with very friendly bar staff) but it is vital you check the boards to find out out what is happening where. we enjoyed the beach party and thought the market visiting was a nice touch. the kids clubs in the daytime were brilliant but seemed quite rowdy on a night so we gave them a miss then.

we found the food to be quite good - not always piping hot but plenty of choice, especially liked the pancakes in the morning.

overall we had a great time and would definately return although we would like to try greece for our next holiday - unless we get a good deal elsewhere!

Hi I am trying to book the palace, Can anyone advise of any other places to book other than Eclipse Direct and First Choice?
Reply
I found Eclipse to be the cheapest. No other TO could match it.

hi all , not posted since july on our return from pp. we went after the pp had only been opened 10 days and yes there were teething problems , beach unsuitable , few kiddies cutting feet in pools , pt building site, lots of negative posts had started flooding in , (WE HAD A GREAT TIME) . we had to consider our holiday was not just for my wife and myself we have a 3 and a 6 year old and the hotel had everything they wanted, mainly fabulous pools , and kids clubs , the reps were fantastic. We have booked to go back this august with 6 other families and told them all apart from the mozzies THE biggest problem with the pp was the other holiday makers there, we were ashamed at times at some of the diabolic behaviour we saw ,and the way some parents didnt take a blind bit of notice at THEIR children practicaly wrecking the place . i do hope that the management started to get tough with some of them .
On a brighter note our kids loved it , that to me is what matters most of all . cheers phill g.

phill, totally accept your opinion but if you thought they were problems, why go back? From what I can see, all Holiday Villages will be the same year in year out and the PP/PT will be no exception. I'm sure that SOME, not all families go there so they can let their kids run free whilst the adults get tanked up and not bother what the kids are getting up to. Mine were 15 and 8 whilst there and are no angels by any stretch but we knew how to keep them in check, just a pity some other parents were'nt of the same nature.

What really bugs me is that FC knew the place had problems from the word go, particularly with the evening entertainment. We paid top dollar to go July/august and got second rate enteratinment in the evenings. Late in the season at LOWER prices, the acts picked up and they had singers/music in the other bars. Surely a company the size of FC should have seen this earlier but hey!! who am I to complain.

We are thinking of going to the Tropical next September, and have a few questions ,

can you eat in the a la carte restaurants more than once ?

our daughter will be 2 1/2 so will she be old enough to go to the kids club, and do you have to pay for them?

What drinks are included in the ai package?

thanks
